    This is the most clear and concise video. (I watched several beforehand that were neither!) It helped me fix my dryer for only $5! Thank you, Pappy Mike!

    Great video. Worked perfectly. Repair person wanted $155 just to come to the house. I fixed it with the $5 part in this video and 30 minutes of work.

    This repair of the fuse also works for the Maytag Elite Series He5 dryers, just another brand using the exact same parts and inside design for the heating and blower mechanics and electronics. Just replaced the thermal fuse following the video and it worked like a charm! Thanks for the video instruction.

    PS. Would love a tip on how to disassemble the fan for better cleaning deep into the body, especially the chamber that exhausts, most videos stop at this same stage, having cleaned lint from just the front end and then focusing on the fuses.

    How did you know it was the thermo fuse that needed replacement? How did you test it? Was it the first thing you tested? What else should be tested for diagnostic? I have same problem with same dryer but need to know what to test first. Thanks

    On the dryer that I’m fixing the fuse doesn’t conduct electricity through it. But, when I by passed the fuse the motor turned on but then turned off in a couple seconds. Does that mean that I have a bad thermal fuse AND a bad motor?

    They added that fuse or whatever in the 80's, I believe, so they get the service-call at sears. I just bypass them.

  • @polandgreen
    @polandgreen 3 года назад +9

    Thanks for this video. I was making great progress until I hit the actual thermal fuse. You didn't show us how to remove the actual screw. The space is so tight that a drill or manual tool is difficult to use. How do you remove it?

    • @thiscorneroftheworld2514
      @thiscorneroftheworld2514 2 года назад +2

      In my case, I used an adjustable plier (channel lock plier?) to loosen the screw, then removed it by hand. Just the slightest of a twist is all it took. Having the right-sized socket wrench would have been the easiest path, though. As the dryer gets older, the fuse seems to be blowing out more frequently. Always have a spare at hand. 😃

    Dude in my opinion you have another problem that u need to address , you fixed the ( no heat ) issue in your dryer but you did not fixed what caused the thermal fuse to blew ... That dryer needs to be completely taken apart , cleaned real good and clean your exhaust vent system ... Thats a fire hazard waiting to happen
