I can not thank you enough for this video. Everyone shows the glam side of doing these types of businesses. You really broke it down. If people were honest like this, when making these videos. I want to start a sticker business myself and purchased a cricut maker prior to that decision. Thank you again for your honesty, and you have another follower to your journey!!!

Thank you for your comment! I am glad you found it helpful. Yes, there are too many videos glamorizing it like you mentioned, when it is not nearly as easy as they make it seem. I think as long as you are realistic about it though, it can be a good path still so good luck if you decide to begin the journey!

Thank you thank you thank you ! You show realities of the adventure. We may add that we Can have these numbers only if your products/services are selling 😅 it can be worst if you have no sells. I would also add that depending thé country you live in, administrative stuff are very different and Can generate more costs.
I totally agree with the pros. That's exactely why I wanted to start a little business. My health is not allowing me to work full Time in a company so my own business is flexible and every euro (I'm in France) I Can make is great.

I am a retired CPA. This is the most honest outlook on these ventures that I've seen. People get swept up into the "income" level of these sales without thinking about operational costs of starting a business like this on the side.

Thank you! Yes, unfortunately too many videos make it seem like a get rich scheme to sell the equipment and services to start these ventures.

Thank you for sharing a real life experience from the start of your business and all the ups and downs of starting and running a business. I am a new entrepreneur looking into selling stickers from home through an online store, once I have the finances to get a website made. I am currently printing photos for customers by word of mouth, and through referrals from other satisfied customers. I am still researching into the many ways you can apply photographs by sublimating, cold press printing, greeting cards, personalized photo books and calendars, to name a few. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank You again for sharing a real life experience with running a business.

Thank you so much for being so transparent. I loved your intro! I knew it was sarcasm since it costs money to start making money but not everyone does and so many content creators take advantage of those that don't for their own financial gain.

Super great content! I learned a bunch from it. If possible, I'd love to see videos on:
    1. The decision points behind the Marketing you're doing though Etsy? I understand that this is for search results placement, but do you have options there and if so what are they and why did you or didn't you use them. I have never seen any other RUclipsrs even talk about this before.
    2. I'm curious about your shipping labels through Etsy. Is Etsy paying your shipping costs and you are reimbursing them? Why did you go with that solution rather than shipping directly through USPS, UPS, etc. What are the pros/cons for using Etsy for this?
I'm just starting to watch all your videos so you may have already covered these topics and I just haven't seen them yet.
Again, thank you for this content. I thought it was great.

Great questions, I am putting shipping and marketing on my list of videos to explore further, but short answers for now are: 1. You don't have full control like say with Google Ads, Etsy asks you to choose between 5 somewhat vague goals that they don't define. In essence, the choices are for the ads to focus more on shop branding, short term sales, most exposure, or pushing specific listings. In the beginning I just went with short term sales, I ran ads on a lot of listings and then once I saw which ones got the most returns on investment, I focused on the few listings that would do well in the long run and be worth the effort to try to rank high. 2. With shipping, in essence Etsy, ebay, and shipping providers like Shipstation, Shippo get a big discount from USPS as a client, so when you buy labels through Etsy the prices are lower than retail. In addition, with Etsy the labels automatically will add the tracking numbers into the system and streamline the process. If you are shipping letters/flats like with stickers, Etsy also provides a tracking number for you whereas with stamps you would not have one. It does depend on what you are shipping though. I have found that USPS is cheaper for anything under 1 pound, and the heavier your package is then UPS is cheaper and they are not offered by Etsy. Etsy has USPS and Fedex labels only. If you are shipping heavy packages, personally I would get a free account on Shippo and get UPS labels through them.
