This review compares the Cricut Maker 3 vs the Graphtec CE7000 vinyl cutters. I used a Cricut Maker 3 to run my home Etsy sticker business for 6 months until it wasn't able to keep up with my orders. At that point I had to make the decision to buy another Cricut maker or buy another machine. Enter the new vinyl cutter in my life: the Graphtec CE7000-40 15". Was this investment in my small busin...

I Used a Cricut Maker 3 (Every Day) for 6 Months to make Stickers | An Unbiased Review

For the last 6 months, I used a Cricut Maker 3 every day to run my small Esty Sticker Shop. Today I will give you my unbiased opinion as someone with absolutely no ties to Cricut and no reason to hype them up. I go over the pros for the machine, followed with the cons, and then finish with the final verdict on if I would buy another or move on to a different cutter. In the video I touch on Desi...

Micro Business Owner (Channel Introduction) | Let's Grow Our Small Business Shops Into Monsters!
Hi, me again, have you realized the size changed a little again. Can you show me how you did this? tks!!
Thank goodness I saw this. I really appreciate it!
Can you print in a clear sticker paper without transparency?
Thank you so much for this video
can you make a tutorial how to add reg marks in adobe for graphtec, how to add plugins to use the cutter, and how to add cut contour lines? have you tried perf cuts as well?
did you try F-MARK2 with the auto feeder, can it work with mat?
Have you also considered Roland BN2-20 or BN20 printer/cutter combo? If you did, why did you not go this route?
Hi, which print did you use to printing the stickers?
Do you use procreate? I cannot for the life of me figure out how to print out the exact same colors I see on procreate with this printer! The colors always come out different!! I just want to be able to have my art print how I see it on procreate. And yes I use CMYK 😢
Have you tried to save it as a pdf file? I've heard a lot of people saying that this helps them with the colors
Apparently we must avoid CMYK as it gives faded colors, RGB is better.
its CIR-CUT not CRIKET
Go watch their official youtube channel, they pronounce it the same as the bug.
@@microbusinessowner I do appologise, I have just googeled it. Apreciate the response and your review, after watching this it helped me make the decision, again appologies for the negative comment. All the best
I thought you got rid of your Cricut?
I still have both of them, but yes I primarily use the Graphtec now
@@microbusinessowner did you fix the problem?
Etsy is so annoying with Ads. I used to do so well when we could even control bids. I used to spend $20-$30 a day on ads. Now I spend max $5 and break even if I am lucky
It's a hobby machine, it's not meant for commercial use. I wouldn't buy a top of the line home air fryer then not recommend it because it couldn't keep up with feeding a restaurant of people.
do you have problem w red color becoming magenta?
Thank you for sharing a real life experience from the start of your business and all the ups and downs of starting and running a business. I am a new entrepreneur looking into selling stickers from home through an online store, once I have the finances to get a website made. I am currently printing photos for customers by word of mouth, and through referrals from other satisfied customers. I am still researching into the many ways you can apply photographs by sublimating, cold press printing, greeting cards, personalized photo books and calendars, to name a few. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank You again for sharing a real life experience with running a business.
Did you adjust the pressure so your Cricut cuts it twice to make sure it’s perfect?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Does it matter if we print this help calibration sheet on computer paper or the sticker paper sheet?

Great video! How has your shop been doing the last few months?
You definitely upgraded woth a Graghtex
i followed your instruction, and it fixed my cut. I even got the most perfect cut since I got the cricut. thank you so much
Here is a good video on how to install decals: ruclips.net/video/HVBPZcE4-PQ/видео.html&ab_channel=Art305Studio
Love the effects 🎉🎉🎉😢
Can we see how you laminate? Also why? I am using glossy sticker paper and it smears days later.
can anyone tell me what printers work well with cricut maker 3 that arent 1 million dollars? and any major cons to budget printers if i get a printer that is like 1-200? thanks for reading
Nice comparison.👍Have you also tested some different materials on the Graphtec? Cricut offers many cutting materials..Wandering how Graphtec handles paper?
I appreciate this, however i tried this and the issue got worse and the cut was shifted even more down. I will be going back to printing in the cricut design space program....
Same here!
Same here, I'm so disappointed with cticut
Since my last comment I fixed Print and Cut, and I am getting perfect cuts for my stickers using the sheet from Design Space.
Stahls have great info on the Graphtec
Thankyou!
What cut setting? Cricut
this video is awesome and valuable, but why just have 4 people comment here? 😂☕️
Just unboxed the graphtec…didn’t know it wasn’t Wi-Fi 🥹😔😔😔😔
I lost star seller because I was late on one message by a couple hours. In my opinion, they should give you 48 hours especially on the weekend, and then I calculated that I would need 20 more messages because I was late on just one message. Now I try to just reply with anything because the message was asking can I ship to a certain country and I went and checked. Next time I’ll answer and say I will check and get back to them.
Yeah, it’s a pain. I am using the new auto reply when off hours feature which seems to be helping a little though. Sometimes people ask in different time zones and weird hours and by the time you wake up it’s been half a day.
Thanks this helps alot!
Thanks!
Practically nothing and the odd shape makes me feel like I have less space 😅 even though technically I know there is more
Yeah it’s not much but sometimes can be nice if u need to squeeze something in.
I have the Air 2 and I find design space to be very challenging. It's getting easier, but it's still very difficult.
There’s still a learning curve, but it helps there is a lot of tutorials available. I’m sure you will be a pro soon!
I’ve needed to use print and cut a lot more on my cricut and it’s been a complete headache unless you’re using an offset for the margin of error. Forget laminating stickers, the machine won’t even read it and basically curses at me and spits it out 😂😭 I’ve really been thinking I was the issue… on top of all that the amount of paper that gets wasted because of the registration marks 😢 honestly it’s all enough to make me quit all together! The Silouette 4 pro is only $400-$500 and is 24 inches wide, I use the Silouette app all the time for printing and certain projects that simply can’t be done on Cricut Design Space so I think I’m gonna switch over. If I got the machine you have my family would hate me because they wouldn’t seen me for a month until I was a pro at the machine. Thanks for this! Just subscribed! I’m interested to follow your journey!
Thank you! If your cricut is always off with print then cut 100% of the time it might be how your printer is printing the calibration sheet. I didn’t realize my printer was printing them at “fit to page” which shrunk the sheet to 97%. Maybe thats your problem? This doesn’t solve the errors every once in awhile but fixes if your cuts are always off by a little. I made a short about it here: Cricut Design Space Calibration Solution! ruclips.net/user/shorts9Y_YAUKDjnw?feature=share
wow, I own the Cricut explore one and the explore air 2 for cutting vinyl, but they both are VERY inconsistent when doing print and cut for stickers, so I've been considering upgrading to the Maker or Maker 3 which are supposed to be "commercial grade". But knowing that the Maker 3 still is inconsistent with print and cut, I am definitely going to see if the Cameo is better since it's still in my price range.
I haven’t owned another Cricut so I can’t speak to if the Maker 3 is an improvement, but for me when it comes to shiny laminated sticker sheets, 1 in 10 will be slightly off where the stickers are probably still usable, and then 1 in 10 will be super off and def trashed.
@@microbusinessowner That definitely adds up in lost time and money. My explore one and air 2 require calibration the next day after already being calibrated the day before. And registration marks on glossy stickers can't be read properly by the laser thus requiring me to use one of a few hacks! I just watched a video of someone complaining about the cameo 4 being off every few print and cut sheets too! Maybe I'll give the Maker 3 a chance until I can justify a $1000+ cutter! Other than the print and cut issue, both of my cricut machines have been workhorses cutting HTV for hours almost daily ever since I bought them in late 2017 and late 2018!
I've started using chatgpt for answering dumb questions politely, especially repeat questions.
Haha good idea 👍
I would recommend the Roland Versa Studio BN20! Great all in one device printing and cutting! If you really want to get out of the struggle and lvl up things
Hi, thanks, yes I have been looking at BN20A, it seems to be backordered a lot of places.
Thank you . I’m a new sub from California. What printer are you using?
Currently an Epson Ecotank ET8550, but saving up for a printer that prints on rolls. Here is a short on the epson: ruclips.net/user/shortsgQV4a1lopU8?feature=share
Hi @@microbusinessowner. Another new subscriber here. What printer have you got in mind to replace your current one?
@@randommusings48 i think Roland BN20A seems like a good option but still looking, and it’s out of the budget for now lol.
Hi, thank you for your video. So the Cricut Maker 3 will cut and laminate for you, right? I am really new to this. Your video is very helpful. thanks again!
No, you have to laminate before you cut. You can either use a thermal laminator or cold laminator sheets (sticky clear laminate sheets), although I think cold lamination works better.
@@microbusinessowner thanks!
Thanks for sharing your insights and highlighting some of the more important differences between the two machines. I have yet to even try the Print Then Cut function on the OG Cricut Maker, which I've owned for over 2 years (which has been fantastic, just as a cutter/debosser), because of all the frustrations I've seen folks experience.
You should try it, it’s fine as long as you aren’t making stickers in bulk daily 😅
Just came across this video and it’s super helpful! To get my machine to read the registration marks under the laminate, I use a black sharpie and trace over the marks on the laminate.. not ideal, but it works every time for me
Thanks for the tip!
Question No Hi no nothing just “can I have this before Friday? If not I don’t need it I don’t want it” lol I feel ya I always look at the message and think I’ll reply soon but I don’t
Haha yes! I am trying out the new off hours auto reply and it seems to help.
Great video! I lost my star seller this month as well! I had a crazy month of sales for Mother's Day which led to late shipments and with that came bad reviews. You should definitely use the auto reply and use the public response for that review even if it was your fault. The response is for your future customers. And the shipping label date goes to next day if you are printing after 8pm. Best of luck to you getting back your star seller!
Sorry to hear that we are in the same boat! That date thing happens to me at around 5pm Pacific, so I guess it uses eastern time overall.
Aw...I've been there! I make wedding place cards, and 99% of my customers are amazing. In the early days of my shop (2017) I wanted to be everything to everyone. I had a "can-do" attitude and couldn't admit I didn't know how to do stuff. My product is different than yours in that a lot of brides expect customization. I had my prices really low because I was new and wanted to lower expectations. In reality, they still wanted perfect products, but wanted me to make ALL of their wedding stationery because I was so cheap. I had two specific cases where I missed work and stayed up all night at Kinkos "fixing" stuff to make what they wanted. Nowadays, I have more confidence in knowing what I can and can't do. I *almost* got caught up again a few weeks ago! A bride wanted something I don't make, and I tried to help her by offering something similar. She kept escalating, wanting more products I don't make. I kept telling her nicely that I don't do that. She kept coming back with bigger and bigger orders. It was so weird. I finally had to stop responding. Sometimes, you have to realize some customers just have unrealistic expectations. That makes it easier to say "no" when necessary. I also turned off the "custom order" thing on my shop. It's just easier to tell someone, "I don't do custom orders," than it is to say, "I don't want to try to make what you're asking."
That’s great advice. I can only imagine how some brides can be…that would give me so much stress lol.
Great review! You made some very salient points about the machine. It is refreshing to see a real, non-sponsored small business owner give an honest clearcut review. I to do a ton of print-then-cuts for party favors, stickers, t-shirts, eco solvent decals, tumbler decals, sublimation, etc. I have been with Cricut since the infomercial days. As a matter of fact I still have my original Cricut with all of the cartridges;) But I too used my Cricuts (3) for business and the limitations on speed, accuracy and Design Space's unreliability (due to being web based software) made me try other machines. I have since tried other machines such as Graftec, Brother, Cameo, Starcraft Solo and now Siser Juliet/Romeo. My take on it is Silhouette's software is worth investing in and learning as the machine is not so great (IMHO). It to is noisy and slow and inaccurate even with the cumbersome sheet feeder attachment now available (it must be plugged into the machine in order to work and the cuts are not that accurate). Brother has failed to innovate, update and be useful as far as I'm concerned. I love my Starcraft Solo and my Siser Juliet & Romeo. Those machines are accurate with the cuts, use an actual camera for the scan-then-cut features, are fast and quiet. I use Silhouette Studio Business Edition to design to my heart's content and then import/load the designs to my machine of choice with little to no issues. I also use Affinity Designer and Photo but that's because my background is in design. Silhouette Studio is a paired down version of software like Designer but still vast and robust. I love Cricut for getting me into crafting seriously and then business but it is an ecosystem for people who love to craft but don't really have any big demands on the machine or the software. I've tried Graftec as well but ended up selling it as the learning curve was too much for me while also trying to build my business. Graftecs are also pretty expensive ($1300+). The need for multiple machines will arise at some point in your business and it was more cost effective for me to invest in consumer level machines than in prosumer ones like Graftec ($400-600 per machine as opposed to $1300-$1800+ per machine). I am able to run multiple machines simultaneously with different jobs and not worry too much about accuracy of cuts.
Thank you for sharing all that and giving us a lot to think about! Seems like you have tried it all! I haven’t seen much about your recommendations so I will check them out.
