I work retail and I am actually on my break at work right now. Such an underrated song and band. One of the few I appreciate even more as I get older. Despite the generalizations of the genre, Max and co set themselves apart as genuinely talented composers and lyricists. Love this band to this day and forward.

I love how some people don't get this song at all. They take it at full face value, and don't understand Max's contrasting ideas, and the notion that we all "hate everyone" from time to time.

In the last line, Max says, "And that's why I'm a humanist", which is actually contradicts everything he said in the song. Humanism, developed and popular during the Renaissance, was actually a belief in human ability, and that man could do things for himself and think for himself. So you could actually say that humanists LOVED man instead of hating them.
That being said, I love this band, and completely understand what Max means by using the word humanist,,,even if it is out of context :P
Honestly, you have so much maturing to do. Get off youtube and experience the world. If you actually took the time to listen to what Max had to say about this song, you'd realize that he doesn't actually hate everyone. It's just an angsty song about hating "everyone" in a metaphorical sense.

I had a rough childhood myself, spent a lot of it in a hospital bed. Consequently I kinda always felt a little different and alone. Got filled up with a lot of anger. But, once I got over it I found that people pretty much accepted me and it was me who was being a dick. It was mostly in my head. And I let little things really get to me. Just saying, hating everyone (ACTUALLY) hating everyone is a dangerous precedent to set for yourself.
Using this as my life's "theme song" for a senior graduation project.
