Gorgeous example of probably my favorite Honda. I love my EJ8 but I've always wanted an EG hatch. Don't see these older Honda's in that kind of shape in Kentucky very often
Hey Jon, safer way to take the top hat off the stock compressed spring is to do it while it is still mounted in the wheel well. 1. Just place a jack under the base of the strut assembly (bolt still in the lower control arm). 2. Take the bolt out of the trailing arm/LCA. 3. Then take the nut off the top. 4. Lower the jack and it comes off smooth. Nothing in danger of popping or shooting out. That's how we used to do it in the shop back in the early 90's. - ef_danielsan
I have a hatchback similar to this. 1992 DX , Tahitian green pearl, with the usual California body waves (use and abuse from people leaning on it and it was sideswiped a little on the driver's side as it sat parked on the street from a previous owner). Bone stock. I use it as a nice little commuter car. Owned it for a few years now. Installed an ac system from a another similar year Civic. Used an evaporator from a Honda CR-V (straight bolt in plus a bonus as the CR-V evaporator has a cabin air filter). Just got done replacing the dead speedometer and a faulty tps sensor today.
@@Mr.IX9 evaporator core/cabin filter assembly from the first generation CR-V (1997-2001). You can find more information online on the hondatech forum that was posted years ago. Google words "Honda Civic CR-V cabin filter" and it should come up. You're going to also need to use the temperature sensor on the evaporator from a '92-'95 Civic because the plug on the CR-V is different. I believe Honda came out with two different plug styles for the '92-'95 Civic. I believe the '92-'93 Civic are years where the evaporator temperature sensor plug is different from the '94-'95. You can verify this at a salvage yard by looking at them in person.
Nice hatch, I have the same year and color coupe with a k20a2 swap. My shell is a beater compared to that hatch. Remember, torque suspension bushing bolts with wheels on the ground to ease stress on rubber bushings.
Nice set up I just finished doing the same thing lol put some progress coilovers on my ef and I love them. I was really wantn ground control koni yellow setup but progress was a lil cheaper an still feels awesome
Thanks for reopening the shirt orders got my 25K and now my 50K shirt. I look forward to more designs lol. Have you thought of maybe releasing a window banner like the one on the CRX lol I could use one of those.
@@GarageBuiltHondas Wow I didn't expect a response so soon! I've been really enjoying your videos as of late thanks for making them. It seems like you have a preference for the ef generation. Why is that ?

It's not really that scary, it just has a little force. I'd look into extended too hats. These Ground Control top hats for example would be perfect for your GC coils. jhpusa.com/products/ground-control-extended-top-hats-88-00-civic-90-01-integra?_pos=7&_sid=c4a2dcd86&_ss=r

I love the side marker lights on the EG hatch. 👌👍🏎🏎
It's the small things that seem to really pull a car together
Amazing work as always Jon! Love that you just help all the dudes out, that's why you rock.
The hatch looks incredible with that new stance
I always have a soft spot for a EG hatch with SI wheels!
STUUPID clean hatch my guy , best color honda ever made!
Nice road miss those years of streets drags...salute from the big bad WEST!!

That CR-V evaporator core upgrade is smart!
What year CRV did you use?

I have the Ground control coilovers with truharts on my ef hatch, it drives pretty nice still and they are 4+ years old
Nice video! I never thought 15x6 +45 wheels would look so flush on an EG! I kept looking for spacers in the video but didn't see any.
I just bought some Rota slips in 15x6.5, it sounds like a small number but it always seems to look nice at least on the EKs
Love your videos as always! That's a super clean hatch! EG is my favorite old school Honda.
Love egs. My fav car over any car in the world 🌍
👍
Man that eg is soo clean

Great video. I had no idea there was car just like mine. Man I need to take the cover off it and get it out of the garage soon.
Define, throw it down with a wash and a nice cruise. The weather is getting nice too!
Clean hatch.

I prefer the look. I like the body style and like how boxy they are. EG's are great, but my heart prefers EF's.
Very nice looking hatch 🙂
Wish I could find that clean of an eg hatch in the northeast 👍
He should get oem headlights
I just installed the oem headlights this past weekend check out my Instagram @newtype_eg
Super mint EG ❤️
👍
Do something about that exhaust! Can't flow much air with that tiny pipe.
I've got the same sleeve and strut combo going on my car.
are they bouncy?

Buy the best you can afford, that's my only suggestion.
0:08 CR-X VS EG6!!!
Why the eg can have headlight with xenon and the da9 only sell uglyones
what side of tire do you have on those si wheels ? are those 205 60 r 15 ?
205/50
Do you know how they are holding up?
Zero issues
why do u cut the bump stop for?
So you're not bouncing around on it. When lowered a stock bumps too usually hits too often.
