So, I miss my old 89 CRX with a JDM D15B VTEC/Del Sol Si JDM manual trans swap, but I also have an EJ8 Civic coupe that makes 612 whp with a fully built LSVTEC turbo, and I am currently building my 2001 CG1 Accord with a JDM J32A and six speed manual swap. It's currently running on an AEM Series II 30-6051 standalone with i/h/Invidia dual exhaust. I have always wanted to build a B16A with a Kraftwerks centrifugal Rotrex supercharger.
I use to put check valves between the dumbie map sensor and the intake manifold. It will push the boost out before hitting the map so it wouldn’t cause the car to go into limp mode.
@@GarageBuiltHondas the before chrome days 🤣🤣. When people used FMU’s lol and “missing links” on the map sensor. That was the other way I’ve seen it done. The link would have a small hole to bleed out the boost. Awesome build man!

Tune will make a big difference, fueling running to lean or to rich will effect power, ignition timing will make a big difference. With that adjustable cam get make sure it’s timed properly
Seems that way. Maybe it's just my filler since it's pretty rough, think I'm going to buy the eBay filler for like $60 and still try to find a 90-91. But on my b20 hatch it fit perfectly.

Beautiful! I have a question. My mechanic just replaced the front right and left fenders on my 90 CRX with CAPA ones but there appear to be major fitting gaps between the side lamps and doors. Is this something a body shop can fix? Thanks in advance. :)

Dude I went this morning! Filler was toast right below the driver corner light. You'll probably see the small clip in a video. I did take both fenders, driver door and passenger taillight though. And thanks for the heads up, my friend texted me the same thing yesterday too so I figured I'd better go. Glad I did, my door has a big ass dent in it.

Is that the Tanabe Medalion EF exhaust? I'm excited to see how it sounds if you install it on the beater! I've been wanting to pick one of those up for a long time, I definitely prefer a quiet exhaust paired with a loud engine.
What motor was this again? D16y7? Used to have a JRSC d16z6 on same generation crx. Definitely go for more boost and a tune. You should be able to find an upgrade intake manifold pulley from JRSC, and iirc, the b20 crank pulley from the CR-V is a direct bolt on which also adds more boost. That's the setup I had. Got 9psi/191whp
Damn, a Y7/Y8 combo? Whats it have, like 8.2:1 compression? I bought my EJ8 from a kid who was so pumped to run his Civic, but he had no clue that he bought a JDM D15B VTEC block with a Y7 head and tried to run it on an OBD2A P2P ECU and couldn't figure out why it ran like shat. I bought it for $1000, took it home, swapped a D16Z6 head onto it, and it ran like a champ. I boosted it and it made 249 whp on an eBay turbo and DSM 440cc injectors on Crome.

I got a 94 civic hatch z6 swapped and have been driving it for the past 4 years perfectly fine but the other day she we would crank but won’t turn over and at the same time I noticed the ACG fuse(15a) keeps popping when I turn the key to the on position...any thoughts?
Id try to spin the blower faster. 3psi isn't really worth it imo. Get a smaller pulley for the blower or try to run a bigger crank pulley and you should be golden.
@@GarageBuiltHondas Im not too sure for the d series. Y7/y8 pulley is the largest i believe. Heard there was one from the carbed D series that was larger but idk.
@@GarageBuiltHondas another question so on my ef I have a d16y8, I’m using an obd0 harness (converting to obd1) for the dizzy can I use jumpers from od0 to obd1 then another jumper to obd2 in order to keep the same distributer of the y8?
Sometimes hey approach you, more often though you need to put together a proposal showing why it will be beneficial to both parties. Then they can make a decision if they want to help "support/sponsor" or whatever you wanna call it.
just delete the o2 sensor on the chipped ecu so you wont deal with the code anymore. on my d15b turbo i did that and I just run the same wideband instead

It's not. The 90-91 Civic sedan dash doesn't have the cluster cover. It only has the small panel in the back.

Usually it's just the bad fitting fenders unfortunately. They might be able to help with the gaps somewhat but it's hard to say how much.

Yo I have an EF hatch that won't start when hot well sometimes it does and recently it shut off while I was driving it
could be your fuel pump relay, my civic was having those problems as well

Hey Mate! If I measured 9.5 bars (137 psi) on my D16 compression test, does that mean that my engine is almost completely toast?
If they are all in that range most likely okay, just means your engine is a little worn.
@@chasestewart302 they are all almost the same. got 209k miles on it. Pulls okay. starts easy and I can get it up to 120 mph
As long as they are all within 10% of one another you should be ok. Just like Chase said, it may be a little worn but that's ok.

@@GarageBuiltHondas Im not too sure for the d series. Y7/y8 pulley is the largest i believe. Heard there was one from the carbed D series that was larger but idk.

Yes. Obd2 dizzy from an EK.

@@GarageBuiltHondas another question so on my ef I have a d16y8, I’m using an obd0 harness (converting to obd1) for the dizzy can I use jumpers from od0 to obd1 then another jumper to obd2 in order to keep the same distributer of the y8?

just delete the o2 sensor on the chipped ecu so you wont deal with the code anymore. on my d15b turbo i did that and I just run the same wideband instead
i realized you're working with a hondata and I've never tuned on that personally so idk how to delete it on there sorry trynna be helpful.
