I love the way you simplify things. Many users of ableton go into so much technical details and make it seem harder than it should be. Thanks for sharing videos like this!!!
@@djluko2 yeah. I think it also depends on the setting. If they're there for you or just to have a good time. Dropping a new song can also make the crowd go wild
James - as always, great video! What I love about this guy is his work ethic and his modesty. This dude is jetting around the world and you can tell that he’s such a professional - doing the work every day and still finds the time to crank out tuts or stroll into Guitar Center to check the latest controller. James is also a walking testament that behind every success, in reality is backed up by years of long hours, sacrifice, and hard work. 👊
This video showed me that I did everything right the last years when searching music to play. Except that I rarely DJ and most of the time only on private parties like birthday parties lmao
I have been DJing for a while and want to remix and produce tracks to put my own unique style out there. Your content has been real help and true inspiration through out the process. Than you James!
Love the little edit trick at the end. I would always go for full blown remixes which would be hard and time consuming. Glad to know it doesn't always has to be!
Great explanation! Music comes from the heart, and I love how openly and naturally you explain things! Other DJ's could learn a lot from that really... You are willing to share, and that's a f*cking admirable quality! ♥
Yo James been following your journey for quite some time now and it's been incredibly inspirational and motivational seeing how much you've grown as an artist. I've been producing for a decade but only recently started uploading publicly with hopes of a bright future as an artist. Big ups bro and hope to see more great things for you in the future!
I use a Spotify playlist that every Friday updates with alllll of the weeks releases of dnb.. I got through that and save a playlist to then go and download them where ever I can.. the good thing is that this playlist isnt just big artists it is EVERYTHING that has been released that week which is neat
Sick video bro! I only discovered you recently - cause as you point out I love to go for the undiscovered artists. To have a king as big as you making these videos is epic. Your music was - Ferrari was getting spanked in Gili Air this March. ( in a great way ) it was an anthem for our trip. God bless u bro from Sydney 🫶✨
Do it! I started learning at 49 I’m 50 now and just about to play my first paid gig at a beach club today. I’m also a mum of a 19 and 22 year old. The DJ’s on after me are mum and daughter playing back to back 😂
@lisalouis8 That's ace ! Good on you. I bet playing your first gig made you a bit nervous but probably really exciting at the same time. I've two kids also still only young. Trying to get any time to DJ will be tough. All the best with it and keep it up 🙂👍
Good to know I've been going around the right routes for this! I had doubts about how to do the edits but you definitely confirmed I was doing it right lol. Hell yeah!
My dad and his best mate were resident DJs at the sunlounge in derby and I've got into DJing with their old equipment, pioneer DDJ T1 with tractor scratch pro 2 doing 2 and sometimes 4 deck mixes. And my goto for house music is for sure beatport. I want to get your wild extended mix off of your wild but I'm waiting for the right time to get it.
Thanks for showing that is not that difficult to create an edit. Most beginner producers out there think they need tons of plugins and tweaks to make something great :)
Cool to find out I used that Nic Fanciulli track on a monthly mix 2 years ago that you picked that now for potentially playing on Ibiza. Gives me the confidence boost I need once in a while. Thanks!!!!
I would love to see a video on how you sort your music, what you call songs (extended mix) (do you include feat. XXXX) And how you sort your playlists etc…
😇James Hype is a Alien!!!😅 The Force/Love Flows through this JeDi Master Mixer and yet he still makes time to help create more Jedis!!! By far, you're the most talented and my favorite Dj!!!!💪🔥💪
Love the tips! It was funny to me that the 2 edit tracks on soundcloud you played are both ones I downloaded for Haunted Ball 2024. I didnt knownyou could edit tracks like that either tho, super good to know. Peace James!
love all the videos; technical stuff and the gigs! how easy is the process of getting these tracks approved for live performance.. do you have to contact every label and pay each of them for the privelage, or not in every case?
Awesome video my brother... can you do one on rekordbox with with all the tips and tricks a Pogue like me would need to know as far as the software is concerned. Explain combined effects for example and ways to use them... explain pad set up and any cool tricks or things we could use to our advantage in rekordbox that maybe serato dj doesn't have... THANKS!
There is a thing called auto Shazam as well. Basically links your Shazam w your Spotify and it allows you to put the phone in your pocket and it will create a playlist w the songs it find. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Yeah I did that too and it worked pretty good but I found 1001 track lists better maybe worth a try plus you can put released tracks straight into Beatport
Awesome video, I've been a big music digger for over a decade but this video was still fun to watch, especially the part at the end about making edits. How come you don't put a limiter on the master channel for your edits when you're adding additional elements?
When downloading music from soundcloud you dont actually have to follow the artists. its enough to just open the windows with the follow prompt, which will enable you to click the download button.
James, is this new course much different than your DDJT course with Phil? Thank you for always sharing your knowledge for us all to benefit. Real HypeFam Don’t Stop!! ❤🙌🙏😎
HeyHey JH. One question is torturing my mind: I'm 100% with you digging new or rare or unique (in best case all of them) stuff. No problem to fill one or another SSD downloaded from Soundcloud, For me it's more a problem to find stuff in perfect quality. MP3s in highest Bitrate may work at home if you not playing them on a high end system, but it's a totally different thing to mix those stuff in a Club or on a stage, where a fat Soundsystem will reveal any compressed music files , in special if they having a variety of different bitrates. Even in same compress settings it's not guaranteed having files, which you could simply put together in Cubase or similar software. You know what I'm trying to explain, I guess. To bring it on a point: For me are such 'samples' fitting together, if I have them in a lossless format like FLAC or also on old basic formats like WAVE. But you barely find them on Soundcloud. I imagine also on purpose, to deny downloading the high quality samples and not losing the control of what ppl doing with those. Any tipps, how to handle this and not resulting in a low or lower quality file..? Or any tipp, where I find them on Soundcloud or anywhere else? I'm.l not asking that to give pirating music a push, but I like the idea what this clip is mainly about: Having hands on music for mixing , which is unique and not each DJ is having it in his/her Rekordbox...
If you see an old school raver at San fran this weekend wearing an Altern8 fancy dress, he'd love it if you played the prodigy hahaha. Rave on brother!!!😊
James you could make a video on how do you create the set after the music selection, would be really useful.

One thing I learned from James Hyper is to be different, don't choose the same music as everyone else, thank you James Hyper for that
True. But you still need some familiarity to get the people hyped. It's hard to get people dancing on tunes they don't know.

Called "brand new drum and Bass" I think
The Bass of the "Body" song is actually just a stock preset of Serum. Its the first one in the "Bass" category and its called "BA Ampology" ;)
