(A very shortened and condensed post about the 3000s test) Sabion and Rashun, you two were not experiencing a problem with the quantize. The problem was that Sabion didn't have the two tracks in-time with each other to start; and with the explanation that both of you were giving suggests that the quantize was operating as it should. Just by what we could see in the video, the tick marks on the deck where the quantize was being tested were not lined up with the tick marks on the master deck.
A good dj doesn’t blame his tools,he just get’s on with doing a mix….. you should be able to dj with just 2 channels and a crossfader as before all this tech was available that’s how it’s been done for over 40yrs

They’ve got an ever increasing bug list and rekordbox keeps breaking prodj link export. I’ve reported about 9 or 10 bugs with the 3000 firmware which are in their system. I think they have a hardware issue in their second production run, i’ve three sets of 3000’s - the first 4 i got on release and this bug doesn’t happen. The other two sets bought in second and third run manufacture seem to have it. The quantise works from playing just fine its from cue, seems to lag slightly but some of it seems grid related too.
I also experienced those delays with hotcues before the firmwareupdate. But mine seems to be fixed. Maybe it also depends when the whole machine was built and it is also some sort of hardware issue.
This is so strange, I have a 3000 made in Dec 2022 and now on firmware 204, and I still run Rekordbox 587 and do not have this issue. Both the hot cue and cue working correct. But there are other 3000 issues when using ProDJ Link connected to older players like a NXS2 and your usb plugged into that older player

36:09 Question for Rashun, Paid, James in addition to the quantise issue with the 3000 did you notice a delay between CUE/PGM in headphones/in-ears on the DJM-A9. Timing is different between PGM in headphones to Master out. Not so much of an issue if you are reliant completely on quantize but still very off putting.
Do you ever consider taking your own equipment with you or does the hassle outweigh the benefit both for the logistics and switching in/ out at each venue?
Most sets are pre recorded on the main stage so they wouldn't even know if the equipment wasn't working properly lol. Great to see you mixing live, the little mistakes show just how technical some of your transitions are. 👏
Facts same if I was using broken dj equipment I would of just left I'm not trying to sound like a you know what but your not going to let me play on broken cdjs for like an hour or however long you put me for it's just not right
Tomorrowland is probably the best organized festival in the world. Technical issues can happen anywhere, especially when you have so many people using the same set up with no breaks for soubd checks. The important thing is the tech team was professional and fixed it in under a minute so I don't get why the low scores. Had it happened in any other festival it provably wouldn't have been resolved that fast.
its crazy how many issues ive seen at raves with the CDJs. Lost Lands had deck issues literally every day and across multiple stages. Im sure its unavoidable but its just interesting haha
best trick ive learned with my job is 20 min naps. military uses this technique and it has been proven in science studies. the trick is taking 20 min naps and forcing yourself to do something for a bit and another 20 min naps. they say experiment with 20-25 min. 23 min seems to be the best for me. the trick isnt actually getting to sleep. its just a 20 min period of no movement and closing your eyes.

I just can't believe it takes Pioneer this long to fix the cdj-3000. With all the experience they have you'd think it would be fixed by now.
