Tom Duffy - Hey Tom, tbh it depends on the clearance for the 1.2 between the valve/piston and how quick you was to stop the engine. You may have got luckily but normally there is damage. If you can get hold of a borescope camera you can check for damage via the spark plug hole. But if I heard no contact of valves when it snapped I would try simply timing the engine back up and fitting a belt. Turn over by hand, if free then try starting and cross your fingers lol, if all’s good happy days, other it’s rebuild or new engine. All depends on if your doing the work yourself or having to pay a Garage. Hope that helps a little
Trgovac77 Trgovac77 , Hey, luckily so far my box has been fine (I do have a Quaife diff tho) but once you start pushing beyond 300bhp they don’t last very long, blew my first box on standard power before the turbo, but that was hard track work. There is a Vag O2M gearbox conversion which has become popular, it’s not cheap as it requires lots of modification but solves the issue. I may take that route if I blow this box but it’s much simpler to just throw another standard box in.

Belive or not when i saw your videos i started to make a 172ph1 turbo conversation,did u have transmission isues when gone on turbo.
