    Awesome stuff. Cars comes a long way and looks too nice for a track car ! Looks more like a show car :)
    I’ve got a low boosted 182 which has been boosted about a year and a half now and I plan on pulling the head off cleaning it up, fitting a Megane gasket, keyed crank pulley new belts , Walbro fuel pump and a few other bits for a bit more boost afterwards 250bhp ish hopefully. Never done it before but gunna give it a go based on things I’ve learned from your channel , another channel and a lot of forum research.. thanks for all the great information 👍🏻

      BIAWolf thank you, I think the camera catches it’s good sides, but yes along way considering this time last year she was basically stock.
      Great to hear I’m helping a little and giving you the confidence to have a go yourself, anything you need to know just ask and I’ll try answer with some better information. Thank you

    Great to see you again! The sound seems better this time. Sorry, forgot to give an advice that i got frim my friend about sound recording - he uses inexpensive tie-clip microphone, connected to smartphone and he adds the soundtrack to video at home using Davinci Resolve (he likes the program, because it offers him everything for free).
    Great looking Clio and hope it drives even better after remap.

      Thank you, I still haven’t got around to buying a mic, but I will soon. Most the sound was done on my phone in this video, probably why it sounds better.

    I had those tyres on my Williams, which was running quite a bit of camber and the inner edges wore fast. I've got a 182 turbo as well with AR1's on my trackday wheels. Will see how they wear. The AD08's wore well, but had soft sidewalls compared to Toyo's.

    • @Steffrallye
      @Steffrallye  6 лет назад

      Barney Wobba think I’ll be buying the Ar-1’s next, nothing but good comment s about them. But enjoying feeling the differences between tyre makes

      @@Steffrallye I drove on them in torrential rain last Saturday when that big wet weather front hit the UK. They were surprisingly ok, unless I was hitting hard boost then the traction control was going nuts so I did have to be careful :) The scariest ones I had in torrential rain was on the way back from an FCS one year and I was in the Williams and using Toyo R1R's. That was scary!

    • @Steffrallye
      @Steffrallye  5 лет назад

      Barney Wobba that’s good to hear then! Defiantly will be going on next.
      Lol, yer with the thread pattern of the R1R I can’t see it shifting much water, twitchy moments I bet!
      Always found the ad08 and federals Rsr’s that I commonly use great in the wet, yes they will spin up/slide more than a normal tyre but I’ve never felt unsafe, it’s always felt controllable

    Hi , I am building a track 172 , I see you use 10w50 , I was going to go from 5w40 up to 10w40 but am not sure now.
    I know you have turbo so is this the reason fo 10w50 ?
    I'm not sure what to get , advice would be appreciated
    PS , I'm going to used ester based like your Miller.

    • @Steffrallye
      @Steffrallye  5 лет назад +1

      Hey, it all depends on how hard you will be working the engine, how hot it will get.
      Oil numbers eg 10w40 is the viscosity at cold and hot. Eg a 5w is thinner than a 10w when cold. The the 40 is the temperature it can cope with when hot. Due to mine getting alot hotter than normal that's why I moved up to the 50. If your only doing the odd track day most still stay at 5w40 but run a better quality, tho many still swear by the renault recommend Elf oils.
      Theres also people in fully race situations running 10w60. It all depends on how hard the engine is getting worked.

    How much would a stock serviced 172 ph2 cost in uk ?

    • @Steffrallye
      @Steffrallye  6 лет назад

      LeonardoValente depending on the Garage and how much is done your roughly looking at £80 for a oil change and basic inspection. Then anything on top, most garages I would say charge roughly £20 per hour for labour.

    • @LeonardoValente_
      @LeonardoValente_ 6 лет назад

      Thanks but i was asking about buying a full car already serviced in the uk , planning to go there to buy one but dont know exactly how to do it

    • @Steffrallye
      @Steffrallye  6 лет назад +1

      LeonardoValente ah you mean as in fully road legal. If the cambelt has been done there going from 1500-3000 for nice examples. There slowly on the increase but there’s still plenty of bargains out there. 172 cups, 182 racing blue and liquid yellow are the main basic ones in demand at the moment, but of course the trophy’s are going for silly prices, some as high as 14000 for a low mileage example 😵
      Basic 172’s are the cheapest to by at the moment, I sold a silver 2002 172 with 56000 miles for 1500 a few months back.

    • @Steffrallye
      @Steffrallye  6 лет назад

      LeonardoValente yes there’s still plenty out there for a grand, most might need the belts doing but there’s still bargains out there

    Have you actually got any proven aero gains from the splitter? Seems pretty useless on such a light fwd car.

    • @Steffrallye
      @Steffrallye  6 лет назад +1

      James Ward tbh at the moment it’s more for show. It’s only bolted to the bumper as I have mount to brackets up to the main structure yet. But yes there is gains to be had, and specially trying to run this much power threw the front wheels, in time I’ll be going full aero eg flat floor, diffuser and wing to get maximum effect and downforce I can. But for the moment untill I do the suspension it’s just show.

      I have to thank you, for your videos on the f4r engine, they reassured me and aware of the work to be done now just missing the first re-ignition, hopefully good.
      but my son could not stay in London to work, instead of putting me on the cross with his 182? lol

      @Steffrallye  6 лет назад

      Roberto Garbero thank you, I do waffle on abit but great to hear there helping people. So a massive thank you for watching too!
      Shame he couldn’t stay but you’ve confused me abit with the 182 part??

    • @robertogarbero2024
      @robertogarbero2024 6 лет назад

      et me explain better, my son has lived and worked in uk for 5 years, when he had to return to Italy for a family bereavement, he bought the rs 182.
      since then suspensions have been replaced, all wheel bearings, gearbox with bevel gearbox modification and added quaife self-locking differential, oversized axle shafts, complete repainting and now total engine overhaul with duct polishing, crankshaft, ultra-light flywheel and last (I hope) complete discharge akrapovich.
      luckily I was a mechanic, and a little is saved, so I say that puts me on the cross! lol and before the renault had an intact honda and a sierra coswort 4x4 !!!! I said everything
      thanks again steff, in the case of some outing trip takes you to Italy let me know, in the meantime I put the beer in cool Ciao

      @Steffrallye  6 лет назад

      Roberto Garbero oh wow it’s had a really transformation then, sounds like it’s kept you as busy as mine is keeping me!
      And of course it’s always handy when you can do the work yourself and save yourself some money.
      Sound like a great idea! If I end up your way again I’ll be giving you shout ☺️
