Which of these changes effects you the most?

The High Value tier is even worse. A $500 book costing $85 to grade is 15%. If they're sticklers, a $401 dollar book costing $85 is over 20% of the FMV.

Yeah the lower tiers have never been good so it kind of gets glossed over. Seems like an odd thing to charge more for unless you pay employees more for grading more valuable books.

I get it, but I hate price increases!

Yeah, at least we got something out of this price increase

I’m convinced CGC will self implode if they stay on this path. A more standardized, scientific book analysis at a fair price should come along and they would trounce these grading companies.

Yeah, the time to grade is pretty short. The encapsulation for the lower tiers about pays for itself; it’s those higher values that get ya

Wow, thank you for breaking it all down Charles...a lot of information and changes to digest. Overall, just negative, not worth it to me. I understand why cgc has to, but still...they have to be making a ton of profit on substandard service. I'd love it if someone knowledgeable like you just graded, sealed in a sleeve, and charged a small fee for that without even slabbing them...I trust you more than cgc and I hate slabs.

The grading scale in general is just flawed. Even when done perfectly too much that falls into each grade

If I were never going to sell another book then this would be the way to go

@@hobbyhero6973 If I still had my first collection I might have considered slabbing but I’m on the 2nd one and I don’t feel the need.

@@SABERTUUTH there are some books I slab for display, some for preservation and some to sell. Don’t always like the price/results but I am glad it’s a service that’s available.
