    This is why I cant take the idea of ageism seriously. Well, why should young people not be critical of the generation in power when it fails them so?
    The main difference lays in the question, who is punching down and who is punching up?

    Good Lord, this is completely inane. I’m prepared to listen to a philosophical argument, but she doesn’t make any. There are good reasons...not brain size LOL...why we do not give children all the rights of adults. It’s for their own good and for the good of society at large. Moreover, they have certain rights adults don’t have.

      @@juliz2500 Yes, I know. But that doesn't mean that we should be denying them the ability to make their own decisions or stop them from being meaningfully engaged in things like politics. Besides, teens are not young children, they are already capable of thinking like adults. You're the type of person who needs to be taught a lesson about humility.
