Quite simply, don't do any more exercise than you can and still handle the hunger you generate from stimulating cellular metabolism and escalating cell death. My advice would be this: If your tongue starts to dry out, you are crossing the threshold from a dynamic anabolic state into a progressively hotter, more inflammatory catabolic state. Hunger will rise fast once the tongue starts drying out in my experience. Much chi, Paul Chek
The best thing to tell them, if you don't understand, it to watch this video. This shouldn't be confusing at all. When writing books for the public, I have to address the most common "general themes" that are most likely to help the most people. Holistic health is simple, but at once, "very complex" due to the nature of people's lifestyles today. If you listen carefully to what I'm saying in the video, it should be pretty straight forward. Much chi, Paul
Thank you for your "wise" comment Glenda. It' amazing to me that you obviously "listened to me", yet as I read comments (so very often) about my videos in general, it's as though people are not paying attention at all, then going on some rant. Lovely to know you are centered in space-time with body-mind integrity! Love and chi, Paul Chek
Please see my book, How To Eat, Move and Be Healthy! I have a section of the book devoted to water, including what qualities of water are best for drinking, and how much and when to best consume water. Much chi, Paul Chek
There are a variety of ways. One of the most common I use is "Yogi Fasting Tea". It's designed to help balance blood sugar levels and works beautifully for fasting. Fresh squeezed carrot, vegetable, orange, and various combinations of juices cut with water so they are just slightly sweet works well; drink throughout the fasting period. I sometimes use superfood concentrates, raw honey and other herbs, but what I've shared is enough for most anyone. Much chi, Paul Chek
There is a test in my book, "How To Eat, Move and Be Healthy!", with specific instructions for identifying and fine-tuning your Primal Pattern (or Metabolic) Type. Much chi, Paul Chek
The Truth is "what works for you". You can argue "your truth", but not "my truth". Theories are imaginary medicine until proven otherwise. Ideas can dangerously limit one's feeling state, which reflects the constraints imposed by the intellectual mind. To be truly healthy, one has to be integrated enough to effectively interpret instinctual intelligence as expressed by the body. If the body wants meat, and the head carrots, time will tell the truth. Much chi, Paul Chek
If you are a goat, then that may be logical. If you've actually studied the diets of goats in different regions of the world, then your comment is valid. Have a look at your teeth, and you may notice that you have canine teeth, and goats don't. That's a good place to start analysis of your own theory. Regardless of what one may "think" about such issues, the only measure of correctness of any diet/lifestyle approach is the health of the user! Much chi, Paul Chek
What I have not heard yet is about sarcopenia and anabolic resistance when it comes to getting older and the necessary aspects of protein since everything about us consists of that. Also the fact that amino acids play a role in infections and viruses. The difference in digestive systems and the different levels of acidity based on different living things. A lot more questions than answers. I do agree that science requires action and replication to prove how true the concept and theory is
A ridiculous amount of knowledge here. Thank you, Mr. Chek. I will be looking into your book as well as Dr. Jensen's as I always seek to better myself and become more knowledgeable to help my clients. I'm also waiting to receive your book about golf biomechanics and am pretty excited about that.
Hi Paul! Thank you every day for your videos which are all life changing to some degree in a possitive way! I wonder if could help, regarding fasting while doing hypertrophy training, should this still be done if the body feels like it or shoul we maintain nutrient inputs to reapir and grow muscle?
You might need more fat at night within 2 hours or so of bed. This is especially true if you eat carbs like me. Almonds butter is a good option for me. If I eat carbs alone and go to bed, I wake up starving four hours later.
I do like many things this guy has to say but I would like to hear more about PPD and personal goals. For example, people living purely on meat in culutures with that kind of PPD tend to live shorter, because they do not get enough of certain vitamins and so forth. (I would like to see more research in this area. It might just indicate that they are just a bit more primitive.) I think people has a pretty big level of adaption when it comes to PPD. Very few people can eat only 90/10/10 or the direct opposite and nothing else. We can adapt to a certain level and still feel great, and somebody that should eat 70% protein according to PPD could probably still feel great at 40% protein. That is why personal goals makes a lot of difference. Nutrition can bring out different attributes in you, and the attributes that you value should be a main point of focus when you eat.
I have mixed thoughts on eating what your ancestors ate? Can you help me out? I think it makes sense but........ An Eskimo does eat like that but he also dies in his 40's 50's. Now in a world where you can get the best nutritious foods whenever you want should you limit yourself to what your ancestors ate? What I am trying to say is that humans are omnivores we can survive on anything but I'm not talking about surviving I'm talking about thriving. Do you think tspecific diet just like all other
good question. theres so many factors contributing to cultural life span, its hard to tell how much is attributed to diet. in my opinion, no i dont think you should limit yourself to what was only available to your ancestors. However, I think he was emphasizing more on the macronutrient profile (fats, carbs, proteins). So, on average, a diet higher in fats and proteins may be more ideal for an eskimo, but the source of these nutrients can vary widely. as for whether there is a nutrient profile thats most ideal, he seems to go by your activity level, based on other videos. so if you're very active and use a lot of muscular energy: more proteins and fats. less active: more vegetarian
Hello Paul, thank you for this video. I bought the book How to Eat, move and be Healthy. I have hard time to figure out the exercise moves from the pictures. Can you please make a video so it comes together for me...English is my second language so i do understand better when i see it. Thank you, much chi 2 u.
Hey Paul what are your thoughts on where did original man come from. In a deeper sense I mean do we all originate from one place or is there a different types of humans originate from different parts of the earth?
Paul, how does one deal with the hunger associated with fasting? I typically have a very clean diet, but one that is associated with bodybuilding/strength training. After 3-4 hours without food, I am typically very hungry. All this being said, I understand the importance of fasting from time to time so I would like to be able to fast without feeling as though I am shriveling and being sucked inward. Thanks!
if you invested in just some better audio equipment to record like a Zoom audio recorder etc.... it would be much easier to listen to you. There is too much white noise in your videos...but great information, though it's just painful with the white noise.
I've been tweaking my diet for years i lost 60 lbs gained 30 lbs of lean muscle back, and now i wanna tone up my core. What do you suggest to promote taking a poop after every meal? Probiotics doesn't seem to work i try to eat yogurt after my hot green tea in the mornings. Thanks for the video Mr. Chek!
the first one im confused on, and i am more then open to suggestions and advise if anyone has any.. if i was to only eat when i was hungry i wouldnt be consuming enough calories in my day because if i eat porridge for breakfast i may not feel hungry till 4/ 5 in the evening.. but to consume enough calories to keep my body muscle and to just keep my body functioning i need to eat lunch and some snacks in between. not saying pauls information is wrong.. just curious as to what to do.
Laurie Mackeson what do you mean by "allows us". yes energy can be derived from the stored body fat but you won't reach satiety in most cases when undereating.. where were you going with that question?
Sorry for not being clear with my original post. I was under the impression that "we" burned fat when in a caloric deficit. I understand what you are saying. Is it possible to be in a deficit without "under eating"? That's what I was getting at originally.
Hi there paul, next month ramadan will begin and me being a muslim, fasting is a must and i want to know of a way (if there is a way) as to continue my gym workouts and playing football (soccer) in a way as not to endanger my health or in a way as not to lose too much weight, obviously losing weight can not be prevented but any help is very welcome thank you
A two year old comment but yeah why not? For example i'm a protein type but in summer i'm on certain days and meals more variable and can handle more starches, fruits or lean meat then in winter..
Animals. A deer in America eats what a deer eat in Africa maybe a little different but not crazy. So my question is should I et the best food available and start to change my heritage to the better for my children
Hey Paul Chek, i am 21 and i workout about 1 to 3 times a day, depending on how i feel, but basicly i am very active and do high intensity/strength training along with movement and handbalancing, i eat when i am hungry, 3 times a day and sometimes 4-5 times a day.. almost every night i wake up because i am very hungry and i just cant sleep cause of it, my question is what is best to eat while waking up in the middle of the night or before bed to feel full and to make it to the morning, thanks
I'm concerned from what I heard. That you are actually contradicting yourself sir Paul. :(. What am I supposed to tell everyone else who I have advised on, according to your book. If now, 3 meals are suggested by you. And fasting, and to ease the meat consumption. But okay, I will deal with it.

Great Vid!

I am going through the same problem right now. Currently trying a 24 hour fast to rewire my appetite. What did you do to resolve this?
yeah :))
I am pretty sure it takes more energy with your movement and talking than typing but ok
