Great information. I personally love the mini fasts. I tend to fast every day for a minimum of 12 hours (last meal at 8pm, eat no earlier than 8am) which isn't huge but enough of a conscious break from eating to be beneficial for mind and digestion. Some days push it towards a 16-20 hour fast on rest days and lower activity days.

Paul you are a blessing. Thank you for your extensive knowledge and kindness to share this with the public.
I've got some questions around training and fasting. I currently have started a 16/8 fast everyday. My work out regiment is fairly intense. Should my fast vary on the intensity of my work outs?
Primary goal is to reduce body fat over the course of 8 weeks, stay relatively lean. Currently sitting at about 14% BF, at 6'2 and 231 lbs. If anyone else sees this please chime in with your thoughts or advice. New to fasting and now sure how to program around exercise and training. I've done some research but always enjoy others sharing personal experiences and advice.

The only fast is a water-only fast - anything else is not fasting. Also, after ~3 days, the body enters protein sparing - saving muscle - not consuming increasing amounts of it. Ketosis fully kicks in at around 48 hours for females and 72 hours for males.

Enzymes, vitamins and micronutrients... yes. Bioptimizers if I recall right, have excellent MassZyme product of enzymes, I should probably invest in that at some point before doing a longer fast. I did a 60 hour water fast once, and it felt good enough, clean enough. But that's probably because I've not eaten much junk food lately then.

Thank you for an informative clip - i am a vegan, while i used to eat meat i would make sure it was organic grass fed & wild caught. I use hemp & pea protein as a source of protein as i train a lot. I would love to implement fasting, currently i am intermitted fasting, do you recommend a 1 or 3 day fast & do you have a system i can learn/purchase etc?

      Hi,
Without knowing the kinds of details I have to gather to work with clients, I can't really give you wise guidance.
That said, if you want to experiment with fasting, start small (mini-fast) and work up from there, paying close attention to how your body-mind responds.
As a vegan, I would encourage you to not be a fanatical vegan; the nutritional needs of our genes, and our body-mind are highly individual, AND change constantly; if our ideas about eating are less dynamic than our body-mind, then we end up "living a dogma" and I can assure you, there are countless people living vegetarian and vegan dogmas, promoting this way of living as "the way for optimal health", yet to the trained eye, they show many signs of body-mind stress and imbalance.
The secret is to be a vegan when your body-mind needs that, eat fish, eggs, meat, or fast when your body-mind needs that. One can only learn how to live in balance by having an intimate relationship with their body-mind, which excludes making choices based on what others say in books, articles, videos, etc. Every "ism" should be seen as a tool in your toolbox to be used like a good mechanic uses a tool, which is "when it is the ideal tool for the job".
      Love and chi,
      Paul Chek

Hi Paul, because I am frequent flyer so I am "supporting spraying chemicals". That is true, sad to say, and I was always thinking about it! On other hand I am supporting organic farming community but it is just crazy to know that I am aware of almost all corporations BS stuff that they are throwing at us and I don't feel good about it! Quick Q for today Paul, I pulled my groin muscle and a ligament 5 weeks ago. I am taking cold showers every day, 5-10 min sometimes twice a day and putting cold package on injured area. When I flex this muscle and touch it I can feel discomfort and if I sit down for too long it causes more discomfort and some pain. I am very careful the way I move during the day, not exercising, not lifting heavy stuff, eating organic food, drinking a lot water and etc. Should I ice it more or maybe do stretching? Completely lay down on my bed for few days? Thank You! See you in SD :)

No you are not supporting spraying chemicals. That's condensation from a very hot plane engine flying trough very cold air. So essentially, you are contributing to cloud production. Don't believe everything your guru tells you. Use what's beneficial, discard what is not. Chemtrails are not real...

+Johan Wallman sorry, but chemtrails, geoengineering is very real, research it, look up, think about how the sky used to look, depending on how old you are, visit website of dane wigington. I know it seems unbelievable, and you go through so many emotions on waking up to all of this as you go on to become aware of all the other negatives going on against humanity too. we don't have to rely on our tvs anymore, information is there on the web, we just need the curiosity, open mindedness to go look for it, research and discern all we hear for ouselves.

    hi Paul,
Thanks for the upload, great video yet again! Quick question..for someone with an autoimmune disease, do you think that a medically supervised fast would be necessary to stop it and reverse symptoms?
Also on a separate note, I know someone had already asked you to do a video blog on this topic... which is 'life and death as a whole'.. do you think that you could do a video explaining from your life experience 'what it's all about'? The reason I am asking is that your videos and information on health and living a full life are absolutely priceless and definitely work but at the end of the day and inevitably everyone has to die...so whether we live a happy and healthy life for next 50 years or whether we die tomorrow...what is the difference in the grand scheme of things? Also, there are many people in the world who don't have the means to improve their lives and health and yet they still have to find inner peace somehow...so does everyone have a purpose in life...i.e. something they need to do (even if it's something that they are afraid of?) to achieve 'enlightenment' or freedom?
I know it's a deep topic but I guess it's the eternal question after all...what is it all about? I would love to hear your thoughts at some point on a v-log!
    Loving the series tho!
    love and chi!
    Jeremie

Hey Paul! My name is D. I am 16 years old and from germany. I have a very very important question: how can I learn to love my body?
Since I can remember, I always hated my body. I`m very tall for a girl (~6.1 feet) and I never was normal. When I got 10, I had to wear braces. My teeth were perfect, but the dentist didn`t care. She wanted the money. I had to wear this thing for 5 years. Now, they look worse than before. With 11 years, I suddenly gained wheight. My parents freaked out about that, especially my father. He forced me to loose wheight, but my body had to grow even more. I started dieting and exercising every day. I lost pounds, but my body quickly regained them. Typical, as I know today. Sometimes I hungered more than a week. The worst thing was, that I totally overexercised myself. My parents didn`t know. (Today they know, but they don`t care)That was the time I first had bulimia. I could stop it by myself. With 13, a doctor diagnosed a problem with my spine: scoliosis. I had to wear a corsett for 20 hours a day. (By now,14 hours) The other students laughed about me and called me a crippel. And while my friends ran around in beautiful thight dresses, I had to wear something big to cover my upper body so nobody could see the thing on it. I started to hate myself even more. With 15 I had Bulimia again. It was a nightmare, but I could control it again. Two months ago I started vomiting again. I was able to stop.
But I am scared: what, it I get this mind-f*ck another time? I can`t stand this selfhate anymore!
I don`t have a problem with my character, but with my body. How can I finally see my body as a beautiful thing? As... me?

      Hi D!
Reading your comment reminds me so much about my story.
Few practices that helped me to start loving my body and myself more:
      - looking in the mirror into my eyes and saying I love you in the begging I couldn’t do it or I was avoiding looking into my eyes, it happened after 5-6 years that when I said it I felt it also, amazing feeling.
      - spending time in nature and connecting with the earth, trees , flowers makes me feel beautiful. Seeing the beauty around and knowing I am part of it.
      - practice Bioenergetics
-moving my body as the body wants( dancing ) it’s so pleasurable that it makes so much easier to love my body
      - laying down with a hand on my belly and one on my heart, breathing slowly and feeling that I hold my inner child and connect with what I am feeling and if I am sad I cry or if I am angry I try to run or hit a pillow
      - when I feel bad lately I start saying affirmations out loud: I am beautiful, I am strong, I am light after few minutes I start feeling better
      - making like a ritual some evenings and give myself a full body massage
I hope you will find some of the practices helpful. I am sure you are beautiful and you will let your light shine bright one day 🌺🌞🌷

    Hello Paul,
I got a Question nor really regarding fasting, but rather Grains -
I am Living mostly strictly vegetarian, in Winter I crave for eggs, so i eat em during that period.
But as soon as the Weather gets warmer, I go "normal" ...
Well - my Question is how you deal with Grains, as I eat 100% organic and unprocessed for years- as far as I "know" Germany is quite strict on the whole reglementation - But I hear/read everywhere about being intolerant to Gluten ...
My girlfriend is usually using just Spelt, Buckwheat and a Little bit of Rye for baking (I know, that Rye has a big amount of Gluten)... It seems like a luxury-Problem, but I am kinda confused regarding that topic.
What else I wanted to ask you, As I am also Coach of a Uni Gym here in Germany(you probably can't compare em to the US ones) and becoming a healing practicioner, to be able to learn and provide Osteopathic Therapy - Are you coming to Germany anytime?
Your insights and Knowledge would flourish quite Well...

As it seems like the German "Clients"/"Students" either take only foreigners or People who've been abroad serious...
and of course I'd Love to visit your courses or learn from you in General personaly - As I am also studying Physics by the Way it is hardly manageable to go to UK for Seminars...
And also what I was asking myself for a while ... How Do you stand towards Jiddu Krishnamurti?
I Studied Philosophy before and stopped As I came in touch with old Krishna, there was barely nothing I could feel a Taste of in Philosophy except Spinoza and a few others, that didn't contradict their own teachings ...
I also read some Ken Wilber and that Seemed like a synthesis of David Bohm and old Krishna ... Haha I lose the red String all the Time, would Love to say everything in one sentence ...haha
Anyway I want to express an unexpressable "Thank you" from Heart for everything that you share!
I with you all necessecary to stay away from the unnecessecary !:)

How do you feel about scheduling daily eating by skipping breakfast, aka intermittent fasting? Eating for example 2 meals per day but later on. In case the person is in tune with how much they need to eat and not go overboard. I currently do it occasionally if I'm not that hungry at breakfast I'd just drink tea. It feels good to not always have the food in there at all times as you mentioned.
    Love and chi :-)

      My approach is:
      A. Always listen to your body, but
      B. Be aware of what choices you've made with regard to all 4 Doctor categories, for ineffective choices can cause your body to react in many ways. For example, if you are eating too much at night relative to ideal for your body (which can because you are fasting in the earlier hours of the day), you may not feel hungry in the morning on successive days. This can be deceiving because your "body doesn't feel like eating", not because that is natural for it, but "because it is still burdened with the labor of more than ideal amounts of food in the evening"; this results in the glands and organs working excessively at night, resulting in "them being tired in the morning hours, thus one's perception that they are not hungry" - the key point being is that the most likely would be hungry if they were in tune with their body in a more holistic manner.
      C. Be aware of the effects of any medical or recreational drugs and stimulants consumed, for they can cause significant shifts in your ability to accurately perceive instincts.
      D. Grow into healthy use of intuition, which is a more powerful means of finding the invisible connections the ego and instincts can't perceive, but are often very relevant.
      Love and chi,
      Paul Chek

Follow the directions in my book "How To Eat, Move and Be Healthy!" to optimize your digestion and elimination, and individualize your diet. Follow the 4-day rotation diet plan and keep the number of foods to 3 at maximum; one flesh food and two plant sources, and record it all. This way, you can identify what foods are causing you problems, and what the symptoms are. Then exclude that food for three months and re-test. This is a simplistic overview. You can also get food allergy/intolerance testing done through various doctors and therapists, and some companies like ALCAT will send test kits directly to the public.

      Hi,
      Thanks for bringing that up.
Great job that you noticed too!
I've learned from my own experience that we must check in with our body in each such instance and see "what it has to say".
Some forms of a substance may not cause a person problems, while other forms can; I personally am VERY gluten intolerant, but have no negative reaction to Yogi Fasting Tea. When I use muscle testing, or soul connection, I get a "yes", you can use that response. That is how I make these decisions, but naturally, that takes time and commitment to develop a reliable relationship with your inner-self to learn to get the ego-mind out of the equation; the ego has a real tendency to "believe what it things and reads and often what it hears", and in so doing, "makes it true such that physical symptoms appear to confirm that conviction."
      Ok, I better run.
      Great "Awareness" work.
      Keep exploring.
      Love and chi,
      Paul Chek

Hello Paul. how are you doing?? quick question for you. I'm 18 and I was wondering what can someone my age do to become a man in a healthy way. My father hasn't been a great example of masculinity or manliness in my life. that may also be due to the fact that he was absent most of my life and even when he was there for me he didn't seem like he cared a lot to give me advice. There was always a good side to him though. he wasn't that bad. Thank you Paul... you are an inspiration to me :-D

    • @Northwindbreeze

Ezequiel Cabbad so that means having urge for sex isnt supposed to be happening with a healthy person? I mean, till certain extend having desire for sex is considered normal otherwise it wouldnt happen. Even those who live isolled from opposite sex get the desire running hard in their bodies time to time no? anyway, complicated topic.

    • @othalee
      @othalee 7 лет назад

NorthWind - intermittent fasting actually raises my libido. When I go 18 hours per day with no solid food, and eat "modestly" and healthy during the remaining 6 hours; my sex drive sky rockets. I try to do this 4-7 days a week. But, I also lift weights that target my major muscle groups. I think the combo is what does it. As a side effect I also have periods of extreme mental clarity.

Hey Paul i brought your book and got lots of good information but my goals in life is to put on as much weight muscle as possible because i am extreme ectomorph really skinny and i am in gym,
from what i gather its not good to eat so much is there a way i can do this healthy ?

    • @paulchek1781
      @paulchek1781 8 лет назад

      +Haste h
In actual fact, when it comes to putting on muscle, regardless of body type, it is as simple as having a well designed training program, and letting your body guide you to what, and how much to eat; the more muscle you break down in training, the more hungry your body becomes. The body needs a wide variety of nutrients, and most people have far too little variety, and eat low quality foods, which only adds additional stress to the body that results in poor muscle development, and injuries; usually the result of chronic inflammation from training that the body doesn't have the resources to manage.
It would be wise of you to do all the functional testing in my book "HTEM&BH!" to make sure your stretching program is ideal, and that your core function is ideal, or the added resistance training is likely to lead to structural imbalances that lead to inflammation and pain and ultimately become yet another reason you can't grow. I've turned many a skinny man into muscular men, so I'm very familiar with all the essential details of the process. If you are serious about putting on muscle, it would be wise to also study my "Program Design" and then "Advanced Program Design" correspondence courses. Weight training is a science, and many who "think they know what they are doing" really don't. It is painful for me to walk into most any gym and see what people are paying trainers "to do to people".....

i also recently started 100 day gong and first 2 weeks i felt rise in chi (energy in my hands was getting more intensive daily) now it seems to be lower is that normal?
when working in is combination of workin techniques better than doing only 1 per session?
i usually rotate chi circles, breathing squats, energy push, zen swing in one session somtimes crow walk, mekenzi pushup and freestyle make their way into session.
can u heal from parasites and fungus infections be healed with combination of 4doctors, htmbh, PPEating?

I hear you! The best lectures on RUclips, concerning fasting, that is purely based on science, comes from Dr. Jason Fung, a nephrologist. Many of his lectures and interviews can be found here on RUclips. He won't bore you with unsubstantiated mystical rhetoric. Everything he talks about, concerning mechanisms and efficacy of fasting, is based on endocrinology, cell biology and metabolism - no reference to Jedi mind tricks.

You would lend a lot more credibility to your lecture on fasting if you jettisoned all the references to chakras, clairvoyance, telekinesis, and other forms of woo. There is a lot of science establishing the health benefits of fasting. You don't need to buttress it with a whole lot of magical mumbo jumbo and just plain pseudo-scientific babble! It would be the equivalent of someone giving a lecture on a legitimate scientific subject - like the special theory of relativity - and then interspersing that lecture with references to the dark side of the Force, and the efficacy of Harry Potter's wand. In short, the TRUE benefits of fasting come from its ability to reverse insulin resistance, thereby conferring on the practitioner better glucose control. Furthermore, fasting inhibits insulin like growth factor. It stimulates growth hormone production, and enables autophagy . All these health benefits are impressive enough. We don't have to add unfounded mystical powers as a reason to fast. For those who want the science behind the benefits of fasting, instead of listening to soft spoken Lord Voldemort here, listen to some excellent lectures and interviews by nephrologist Dr Jason Fung, which can be found here on YoutTube.

I hear what you are saying.
But I for one, am glad to hear at least the acknowledgment of spiritual practices and the uses of fasting in indigenous cultures. Which I actually think predates science by quite a bit? And fasting is employed by most of the worlds major religions? Even the good Dr. Fung admits that openly.
Isn't most of science just an attempt to explain a natural phenomena? To claim that 'science' (whoever he/she is) knows everything about fasting would be silly. Humbly speaking.
I believe we've had medical science for what? 100-200 years? The AMA was formed in 1847? And yet the world is getting fatter. Obesity was up again this year, according to the numbers.
I first heard of Paul Chek over 20 years ago. I highly doubt he has to worry about his 'credibility'. Whatever that is.

I agree, Paul Check is a Holistic Mentor, and overlooking the experiential knowledge of indigenous cultures is quite stupid as they have a lot to offer, similar to the way they have contributed towards medicine via plant infusion knowledge, etc.

    • @ThomasAT86
      @ThomasAT86 8 лет назад +11

Just half way through the book "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" by Dr. Weston A. Price - the Aboriginals used a specific insect (in a certain form) that a woman rubbed on her chest to stimulate milk production when the childs mother would've died (I couldn't believe it when I read that, aswell as their way of life and their way of growing /selecting/ their children). That, and many many more things, aren't scientifically proven, yet work and are proof of the profound knowledge that our ancestors had without a laboratory, heck, they even did surgeries on the head! Also, as long as they stayed on their natural diets, their health, immunity, strenght, bravery, intelligence and happiness were outstanding, they were absolutely trustworthy, and overly drunkenness, crimes and alike were very, very rare.
Besides that, as we all know, a vast majority of the scientists today sell themselves and aren't credible anymore (most studies are absolutely useless if you look into them close enough), aswell as there are big companies who invest a ton of money to do very useless studies just so that there is no more capacity left for other studies. Also, many people, especially on the web, sell themselves aswell to a) parts of the (supplement) industry where they claim to use products that they don't - and almost always prefer to create content in order to sell more (count the podcasts where they don't wanna sell you something), and b) the community - and what I mean with that is that they, just like the medical system does, give the people what they WANT, not what they NEED (take pill xyz aka shortcut/easy way, this works like magic, you need this new scientifically proven hightech instrument,...).
As Paul Chek once in an interview said, a good practitioner (and the like) always tells the people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. It's not about making friends, it's not about selling stuff, it's about truly helping people, telling them the truth and getting to the root cause (I don't say that symptom relief for example isn't necessary in some cases) instead of distracting them with millions of articles and products that aren't helpful in a lot of cases but cost a lot of money and time. I feel like we should come the fuck back to earth and re-establish intuition and spiritual practices, instead of trusting in science which is still in a very "young and experimental" state (understanding everything holistically, we continuously discover new mechanisms in the body, new hormones, new "important" nutrients, new xyz, new spectra of frequencies in light/sound/..., long-term studies) and who claims one year that X is poison and suddenly X is healthy. They also rarely differentiate between all the types of human beings that there are - and that there simply can't be a single one diet, or food, or a single one range for certain blood measurements that fits everyone (especially when accounting illness).
With that said, as Paul mentioned aswell in regards to vegetarianism and veganism, I don't think this is all bad, but we gotta trust our body first and use this "new" information wisely and always take it with a grain of salt, especially when somebody claims to have the new and best xyz that everybody should do/take/use/eat/drink/...
      All the best

    • @highp87
      @highp87 7 лет назад +2

speak for yourself... why do you believe the forms of woo are in anyway disconnected from the scientific discoveries. perhaps science simply notes the externally observable stuff and the rest is what it feels like from the inside. you are only limiting yourself.. nobody else
