God, this song brings me back to such a special time of my life. The anticipation of graduating 8th grade, summer beginning, high school just on the horizon, being a debaucherous 14-year-old hanging out with my friends, visiting my family, 0 responsibilities. I’m 32 now. Life took several drastic, unexpected turns…ones in which I would lose myself from time to time. Sometimes it’s nice to come back for just a moment to remember that blissful spring/summer or 2006.
I was way younger but I feel. 2006-2007 was one of the truly blissful times of my life, as a little kid. When I hear music from that time I feel this special connection and it instantly takes me back. Being in kindergarten, no responsibility. Nice trailer out in the country, me and my little brother riding our bikes. So many emotions in one song. Especially towards the end with the piano buildup. Im 23 myself. It does get hard sometimes and you're right. It's easy to lose yourself and you're barely hanging but every now and then, it's good to look back on those "good ol days" as a reminder. Not much but that's the way I look at it.
I saw these guys supporting LostProphets in 2004 and I completely fell in love with this band and the genre. Went full on emo kid within a month after that show :'D
They were involved with my chemical romance, papa roach, coheed and cambria, taking back Sunday, slipknot, and avenged sevenfold as well but I didn’t knew why Watkins was always a waste bc he ruined his band and career lol
@@kristennificationhe doesn’t mean supporting them in their actions he means they were like openers for them. I’m pretty sure at that point no one knew about all that.
One of the best and saddest songs I ever heard. I actually cried the first time I watched this video because it reminded me that the woman I loved and both of my parents died tragically.
Same here. My regret was not knowing enough about Eighteen Visions at the time. I was mainly there for Coheed and Cambria while my cousin was there for A7X. When we were in line I had to go back to the car and I ran into Eighteen Visions’ vocalist. He looked at me like “Do you want my autograph?” And unfortunately at the time I didn’t give him much attention. I thought he was busy at the time with making his set. Just a minor regret for me because I love their music. Just a shame they aren’t together anymore.
i miss Mick and 18 Visions a lot. i listen to them routinely if not daily. i love their music and style. HeavyK is such an inspirational musician and figure. James is passionate and a very unique musician. I really wish I was born a few years earlier so I could be old enough to afford their shows back then.
How did I completely forget about this band?!?! I just discovered and became obsessed recently with Motionless in White and a comment in one of their vids explained that their name came from an Eighteen Visions song and all of my memories of my teen angst came rushing back! This is amazing!
I've been listening to their self titled album since it came out in 2006 and this is the first time I've watched the video for this Tonightless is probably one of my favorites off of that album that and Broken Hearted. It's pretty cool when you listen to their first album Lifeless and then listen to Vanity and then listen to their last album they always evolved their sound from album to album. It kinda sucks their not around now cause they helped make that metalcore genre back in the day.
its been half a decade since I've heard this song, but this band was awesome and I used to love this song. Only thing better than nostalgia is when past stuff is still awesome
one of the reasons i love this song so much is bc it falls in btwn the heavy / ballad area. the music has aggro punch but the lyrics have a kind of ballady depth to them.
Couple things... How is it that these guys never did well with mainstream, they were awesome! And does anyone else besides me think that James Heart (singer) looks alot like Jacoby Shaddix (singer for Papa Roach)?
2:19 and it all makes sense. I've watched this video soooo many times it's unbelievable and listened to the song that many times that I'm surprised it isn't lodged in my brain. This friends is the first time I've actually got what the meaning of the song is actually about. I'm no emo, or scene kinda person, just a normal guy with a taste of heavier music and 2:19 gave me shivers down my spine when I finally understood it. I think I should pay more attention to the videos I watch
Actually, this may be a reason they sound like Avenged Sevenfold to you, but this is just a cool tidbit I learned because my mom and I are huge fans of 18V. 18V and A7X are good friends and their old drummer actually taught the Rev how to play and use the double bass
+TylerNightmare this is actually false , there original drummer is the guitar player Ken Floyd and he never taught the rev drums or double bass or anything like that . Now they were friends that is correct but got some bad info on the a7x gossip .
+maxwelld23 want a cool tidbit is there guitar player Keith Barney is also plays guitar it throw down who's lead singer Dave Peters also played guitar in 18 vistions along with Brandon of bleeding through , so 18 visions have had quite a few big names in the bad from the hardcore scene .
I bought this album when it first came out I like this one better than their older stuff which gets me in trouble a lot how can you like their emo version better than the original sound
@nofortyfour No I knew where their roots came from. But I was just referring them as a Hard Rock band because that's what they were to me because I didn't discover them until I somehow came across this song.
that would be so awesome! James Stephen Hart - Burn Halo Ken Floyd - Hi-Deaf (i think) Keith Barney - Monument To Thieves (I think) Mick Morris, well he sells clothing now :( and idk what Trevor does now but they should all really just get back together and try make a side project and try to revive 18 visions as a side project or something
2024? Not just me I hope 🙏🏻 here’s to the ones over the years who never made it this far. Life will be okay I promise
God, this song brings me back to such a special time of my life.

It’s 2022, I’m 34 years old and this song still makes me fucking cry
I saw these guys supporting LostProphets in 2004 and I completely fell in love with this band and the genre. Went full on emo kid within a month after that show :'D

Oh no O.o yikes lol
I remember seeing them at that tour and seeing James fall of the stage and carry on.
They are a really underrated band imo.
First time I saw 18V was on The City of Evil tour with A7x and Coheed. Probably one of the greatest shows I've been to.
TribeCalledJake great lineup by the sounds of it! Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
Same here. Was at the NYC date.

@@@Maxphyte They came back recently in 2017 with the album called "XVIII", dude, it's a fucking banger!
Still gets me every time 😭
Get's to me when he backs up, and she tells him "I love you."
I remember being 14 years old when this M/V came out and I was hooked. Looking back now it's wild to think how quick time went passed.
R.I.P. Mick. I could barely hold back emotions listening to this song before, now its even harder...
Damn I used to listen to this so much back in the day.
i miss Mick and 18 Visions a lot. i listen to them routinely if not daily. i love their music and style. HeavyK is such an inspirational musician and figure. James is passionate and a very unique musician. I really wish I was born a few years earlier so I could be old enough to afford their shows back then.
I love 18 visions. Such an underrated band. I remember seeing them at Warped Tour 05 and 06
This right here is how you end an album.
How did I completely forget about this band?!?! I just discovered and became obsessed recently with Motionless in White and a comment in one of their vids explained that their name came from an Eighteen Visions song and all of my memories of my teen angst came rushing back! This is amazing!

It's been TOO long since I've listened to this song. Brings back so many memories. Makes me cry.
arguably the smoothest HEAVY METAL tune ive heard...
its funny how loud music gives u peace =]
I’m a decade off but if you even listen to anything else they’ve made you’ll see this is pretty quiet. Still a masterpiece tho
I've been listening to their self titled album since it came out in 2006 and this is the first time I've watched the video for this Tonightless is probably one of my favorites off of that album that and Broken Hearted.

one of the reasons i love this song so much is bc it falls in btwn the heavy / ballad area. the music has aggro punch but the lyrics have a kind of ballady depth to them.

Miss my grandmother and mr grandpa. Ant stella.
Everyone is arguing about who stole who's style while I'm still over here wondering what she whispered in his ear when he found himself in the coffin
That's because Jacoby blatantly stole his look from James.

2022 🤘🏼🍺
song reminds me of senses fail, comeback kid, armor for sleep & avenged sevenfold!! :DD
Actually, this may be a reason they sound like Avenged Sevenfold to you, but this is just a cool tidbit I learned because my mom and I are huge fans of 18V. 18V and A7X are good friends and their old drummer actually taught the Rev how to play and use the double bass
