    Good runs and I love the truck, but I don’t like that Traxxas always falls short of these claimed numbers they have for their cars. Arrma seems to be the one to get it right.

    • @rcreviews9894
      @rcreviews9894  2 года назад +3

      Thanks, yeah some claims can be a hit or miss situation and I’m not sure how some these manufacturers come up with these numbers, is there extensive testing involved or just estimates? I’ve seen this before with other brands as well, it’s funny that you mention this, we were just talking about this on another channel whereby a guy was trying to hit 100mph with the X-01 and was hitting mid 90’s with the optional included gearing, in the end he was unsuccessful and had trouble keeping the car on the ground at those speeds, is it possible? Highly unlikely not without some major modifications, definitely not out of the box as Traxxas claims, hopefully this won’t be an ongoing trend, thanks for watching brother🤙

    • @grayquattroa395
      @grayquattroa395 2 года назад +1

      @@rcreviews9894 Yeah, I’ve come across the same type of videos with the x-o1. I’m very skeptical with their tests that they run to get these speeds. It almost never translates in reality. I’ve tried with a couple Traxxas vehicles in the past, a Rustler 4x4 and E-Revo 2.0 and was always off by several mph, not even close really. It would take more extensive modifying to get it to that point as you mentioned. When I switched to Arrma that’s when I saw a difference in those reported numbers, they would deliver. You would either hit the mark or just pass it slightly and they always supplied the high speed pinion, where Traxxas wouldn’t at times. And it would annoy me that Traxxas wouldn’t offer the optional pinion, or a recommended option. Again, if you are getting these numbers and want to ensure customer satisfaction, cause you know customers are going to put it to the test. Make sure you supply them with everything they need to get there.

      @@grayquattroa395 I did a unboxing video for the Sledge a while back and purposely avoided any knowledge or advertising for the truck so that I could be surprised when I unboxed it for my audience and sure enough there was a 70mph+ claim on the front of the box, I assumed that once we installed the optional high speed gearing we would definitely test it out and I stated so in the video, only to find out later there was no optional gearing included! I quickly corrected my mistake but I gotta say man I was pissed! I just spent 800 plus dollars on a kit that didn’t even include the optional high speed gearing to get me there! So trust me I know where you are coming from, I own all of Arrmas 3s and 4s line and for the most part they are on point, at worst, a mile or two under ( which could be due to my driving and or run location ) at best a few miles over like you stated, as far as the XRT goes, I gave it all I could with out wrecking out to get it there and we did achieve several full throttle passes but we just couldn’t budge off that 55mph! Impressive for a truck that size, sure but far from the 60mph+ Traxxas claims

    • @rcreviews9894

      Yeah I try to take it easy now lol, I bought a brand new corvette body for my 4tec 2.0, put the high speed gearing in it and let it rip! First couple of passes went good, then I hit a uneven part of the street and flipped it at 60 mph lol, completely destroyed the body after only a few minutes running it for the first time! That was 85 dollars down the drain lol, the XRT is a very stable truck, I think the street and the fact that the XRT stock tires don’t have that much of a aggressive tread, kinda made it a little unstable at max throttle, It was fun though, definitely a rush! 🤙

      @rmarkley79 2 года назад +1

      @@rcreviews9894 That is definately one thing I like about Traxxas, fast, stable and durable for the most part. I feel completely comfortable handing the controller over to friends and my kids (after some lessons, haha). If only a body gets beat up, I call that a good run!

    I got 48 mph with the speed gearing : XLX2, stock motor, Spectrum TX and RX. And duratrax tires, so they are bigger than the stock tires. I had to upgrade the crappy slow motor fans with some protek high speed fans, but the motor still gets to 180F if I run it non stop. 48mph off road is not too bad. I'll try it out with my better Gens ace basher pro batteries. Thats would make a huge difference in top speed. Great video as usual!

    Try Useing Traxxas Stability Management (tsm). It'll help keep it straight. The other thing is keeping the throttle pines longer. You'll get 60mph.

    • @rcreviews9894
      @rcreviews9894  2 года назад +1

      Yeah tsm was active, especially on a high speed straight away, when I would hit max throttle, it would kinda lean over to the right like it wanted to go into a skid so I would have to correct with quite a bit of left, which in turn would create that fish tail effect, kinda scary at those speeds lol, I may take it to another run location and try again, I’m pretty sure I can get it closer to the 60 mph 👍
