this is what a (home-)review should be like. direct sound through dry preamp so u can really hear nuances and colour of sound and changes in sound. very informative, any possible sound shown, u relly get an idea of the pedal. its so simple - thanx dancetech !!
Great review -- thanks for putting it through its paces, gave a thorough overview, Loved the talk-box effect; wasn't all that impressed until I heard that.
93! Great video demo of this pedal! I am certain it can be used for a few odd musical mixtures. My Electro Harmonix Dr. Q (the envelope filter) seems to get quite similiar sounds---although I perfer to prop it up on a bag of rice, rather than salt. I will get this pedal though, thanks to your demo... which I intend to place on a big bloody bag of Pinto beans. 93! 93! 93! 93! 93! 93!
Nice review. Nice pedal too. Your explanation of the 'peak' control is backwards, though. As you turn it clockwise the filter gets narrower and more pronounced, as you turn it in an anti-clockwise direction it gets wider and less pronounced.
Freak out, baby, Freak out ! The FM 600 is a wild lil sucker ! Took this pedal to a jam session two weeks ago and really blew their minds. Well, with the help of some Grey Goose.
I grew up with these auto-filters. The best way do demo these pedals is by playing rhythm guitar. Aggressive chucking like Ray Parker, Nile Rodgers, Stephen Shockley, Wah Wah Watson. That's the only real way to test the quality of an auto-filter. You have to "stretch it's legs" and see what it can do.
Great video. I find these pedals interesting and weird as, to me at least, it makes a guitar sound like someone is making the guitar sounds with their voice xD
Umm.... this sounds great... I'm looking for a very mutronIII type envelope filter in the $30-$50 range. I need it for a Jerry Garcia envelope filter tone
Mine suddenly cuts the volume drastically when engaged. Didn't used to happen b4. I LOVED it til that happened....:( ...I hope this doesn't mean Behringer's quality is iffy as some insist. My other stuff works.
@ChickenPeniis its a bitch to get at. You need to take two pins and push in the latches on both sides of the HINGE of the pedal. I understand your frustration, its a very unusual way to house the battery compartment. So again, go get two pens, two toothpicks, two paperclips.... whatever you can to push in the plastic latches on the side. Actually you may only need one and just do one at a time... but it should pop off once you release the latches.
sam boggs At least they decided not to get drawn into the Loudness Wars. It *does* puzzle me how so many people making videos about audio production tools can't get their levels sorted though.
On my imac built in speakers it is way loud enough, louder on a dedicated usb interface out. The volume wasn't set TOO high deliberately so as not to distort the camera mic, but it's plenty loud and importantly, it's clean

im gonna get a collection of these behringer pedals and build a box for them for my analog synths, theyre awesome! thanks for this video.
Great review -- thanks for putting it through its paces, gave a thorough overview, Loved the talk-box effect; wasn't all that impressed until I heard that.
yeah it's a nice cheap box!
That was an excellent review, I am a bass player but I would definitely get 1 of these bad boys.
great demo! thanks

Your voice is so quiet compared to the intro sound effects. It's a very useful series of videos though, thank you.

could i use a packet of sausages to rest it on?... cool demo's.
cool review, thanks
The 311 Amber sound in a box right here. A very nice clone of the boss envelope filter.

thanks, i'll try those then ;)
what are all the kinds of wires needed to make this work? im so stumped and confused. ive been looking everywhere and i cant figure out that tiny slot
Great video. I find these pedals interesting and weird as, to me at least, it makes a guitar sound like someone is making the guitar sounds with their voice xD
nice demo - It's good to see someone concentrate on the sounds and the features
so is your entire pedal board a large sack of salt then.........?
yes, i shud do a vid of it really
yes, as long as they are Lincolnshire sausages.
WAAA WAAAA IIOOOOWWWW IIOOOWWWW
Is this like an automatic talkbox?
This is MUCH better than the EH Tube Zipper, and costs about 1/8 as much.
Umm.... this sounds great... I'm looking for a very mutronIII type envelope filter in the $30-$50 range. I need it for a Jerry Garcia envelope filter tone
use it with some fuzz to really illustrate it!
brilliant video thank you
Can you play this without the ‘wah’ sound ?
does this work with bass's???

Brought to you by Big Salt.
8:48-9:00: It sounds like someone is slowly killing Peter Frampton
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Lmao
So is this almost like a synth filter but for a guitar?
yup, a filter is a filter whatever it is attached to or part of the signal chain of (synth, mixer eq, pedal etc)
Dancetech, you ever seen Peep Show? You remind me of Superhans
The BSy 600 doesn't get the same type of wah sounds the filter gets, the filter machine is a whole different pedal
What´s the boss equivalent?
My guess would be the Dynamic Wah
@@cleelee69 Thanks.
It's not actually based on a Boss pedal. This is based on the Line 6 Otto Filter.
From 8 minutes onward, it sounds like someone is slowly killing Peter Frampton
But thats not a filter its an envelope filter
WHAT I can't hear you.
turn your volume up then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dancetech. It's all the way up. stop mumbling.

I can't hear you either, they weren't being facetious
@joesteed7
There's something better for bass players: the BSY600
why put it on a bag of salt??????????
so u can see the settings/knobs
To preserve the tone.
volume is way to low, thank god I have a power amp connected to the pc.
speak up m8
fail.
this demo is completely inaudible at 100% volume
That's a pretty obnoxious machine. Thanks for saving me money.
It's a Wah Wah pedal for lazy guitar players. 😄
