Bought it a while back, at christmas in fact, one thing i noticed. Its plastic, and the battery runs out oh so fast, at least a normal battery, so i purchased a couple of high energy ones, works alot better. All of these critisisms cant stand up to to awesomeness you get from it, the best synthesizer pedal i've bought for the bass.

I'm just into basslines tbh rather than scales n stuff, and with this pedal i would come up with different basslines than if i was doing a deep funk slap bass groove the fx u use change what you play, you should play to suit the fx, but anyways it's a demo of the pedal on youtube so no big shakes.
that's cool i just got the pedal today its very nasty thanks for the review. I was just saying to learn them in case if you wanted to better represent this pedal. Not that I'm some awesome bass player but knowing your scales is important no matter what kind of musician you are practice makes perfect. thanks again for the review it had a grate influence on my purchase.
I see a lot of people getting bass synths and getting bored with them fast because they can't really use them. I suggest you get it if you're into electronic music. Also, get the BOSS SYB-5 instead if you have the money. It sounds better and is more reliable than the Behringer.
I was thinking... what if i combined this with a semi-acoustic guitar? Would it be way off? xD As far as i can hear in this video, the only difference would be that the strings themselves would give off a naturally lighter sound, but the effect would still be the same? Mind you, it shouldn't be to fit the actual original purpose of the BSY, but something new?
If i plug the cable into the input the BSY600 works for about 10 seconds and then it turns itself off. I sent it back and got another one. But the new one got the same problem. I tried it with different Amps, Basses, Cables and guitars, but everytime the same problems. The batteries are also charged
I've got the Behringer and I think it works fine, except for the fact that I've tried every cable I have and it doesn't work as an expression cable. I was hoping dancetech himself would tell me whether the cable he's using is a stereo cable or not.

It's just an auto wah/envelope filter and some kind of thing to make the saw and square waves, so they do sound similar. A fuzz and envelope filter would sound almost the same.
I'm confused with some aspects with this pedal. Two things really that i hope you can help me out on. First, Why are THREE things plugged into the right side? Is one a power strip? And secondly, i know that it makes waves, but mine specifically gets more and less distorted in a wave form and always has this "WHOOSH" sound on my amp. Is their a way to deal with that? Your help would be much MUCH appreciated and thank you for the great video in the first place.
@hantront - yeah man!!! and... if you detune your bass so the strings are easier to bend u can do awesome DUBSTEP basslines live!! just do the wobbles using extreme vibrato, bending the floppier bass strings up and down in pitch in little wobble-phrases to create awesome dubstep style bass live! muahahahha!

How did you plug the expression pedal in? I've got a working 9v battery in it and have plugged a patch cable from the output 2 into the EXP input and it doesn't work. I'm very new to using pedals so I don't have a full understanding but there isn't really anything out there to say how to set up the FCV100 properly (or at least I can't find it) From the manual it says to stick it to CV mode and just use output 2, I haven't got anything else plugged into the expression pedal other than the patch cable from output 2 into the exp of the BSY600, is there something I'm doing wrong? Great video by the way.

An "expression pedal" looks just like a wah pedal or a volume pedal - flat platform on top that you tip away down with your toe or back towards you with your heel. You connect it to an effect with a normal, short guitar cable. You will sometimes also see them referred to as an "exp pedal". In theory, most of them are standard and interchangeable between brands. Because it has moving parts, a cheap one like a Behringer may not be a good value - look for reviews online.
I'm having a problem, and I'm not sure if it's me being thick, a broken pedal, or I've set things up wrong - can you help? I got (2nd hand) a BSY600 and a FCV100, am trying to use them as you are in this vid, but the exp. pedal won't control the synth pedal - can you describe exactly how have you got everything plugged in and switched? cheers
Yes and no. Bass effects usually have 1) specific eq response to lower freqs, and 2) blend/mix feature where some of the unaltered signal pass through, sometimes you want that original bottom end and body on the overall sound
Mine has begun cutting out for no reason, and now I have to press the pedal 8 or 9 times to get it to engage! Maybe all the naysayers about Behringer's reliability are onto something...
HI thanks for review!!! i got this pedal, already sended back for defect. I got another one "with the same exaclty issues"! can you help me to this point please?: 1)have you trouble to "off" it? mine it doesnt switch off easily, i have to "slam" it several times (7-8 or more times) to finally switch it off.... 2)i connect both "jack out" to different amp channel or mixer channel. So while pedal is "switched on", i continue to have "synth sound" on channel 1, "dir out" ,which is meant to be to send the "not processed sound" (as instructions sheet at point n.10 explain...). While on channel 2, "out", i hear the synth (again) and moreover i have added "again" the original sound that i have already on channel 1 "dir out" (a bass, that so i got both the channel). THis is definitively not normal for me! 3)With pedal switched "off" i got "dry" signal on channel 1 "dir out" , and i have also the same "dry signal" even on channel 2 (even if volume "effects" is at 0). Is it normal for you this 3) point? I wrote a mail to Behringer wich confirm me that point 2) is "not normal" and that should be as "instruction page" point 10 is showing. But i got a pedal again (from strumentimusicali.net) that got the same issues. SO i am just asking you if you can test both the "audio out" ("dir out" and "out") behaviour, and confirm me that my pedal is defected. Sorry for long explaination, thanks for sharing!!!!!

The two 1/4" TS OUT and DIR OUT connectors send the signal to your amp. Use both connectors if you want to separate the unprocessed input signal (> DIR OUT) and the synthesized signal (> OUT). @rg7120 Why do you talk about things you don't know? Some effects do sound similar on guitar and bass. Most of them don't. Because they kick in ater you reach a frequency threshold. Which is completely different on the bass and the guitar. The compressor effect is probably the best example of an effect that is not always interchangeable. Your comment can lead to other people doing a stupid purchase.

indeed! and detune the bass strings ALOT so you can then also add mega-wobble to the bassline wherever you like. :)

The sounds are great but not sure about the build quality I could see the knobs bending from side to side when you turned them.

Much better choice I think: Digitech Bass Synth Wah. Look for a test of that here on YT.

The only difference between a bass and 6 string guitar is the pitch, so any effect that works for a bass works for a guitar too.

they send me a pedal that i guess is exaclty the same i sent them for substitute...!!! so u dont have anymore the bsy 600?
