  • Blanche Monnier, born into a world of privilege and grace in France, 1849, mysteriously disappeared one day, leaving no clues behind. What followed is almost unbelievable.
    Did the years in that room shatter her mental health? Or did her mental health issues send her to that prison in the first place?
    While we may never uncover the truth, it's a thought-provoking question: Which explanation do you believe holds more weight?

    Think about it, feces was the only constant stimulation she had that was a way to express herself. To us it's disgusting and something to get as far from as possible but she had no sun,no fresh air,no clothes,no friends or family barely anything to eat but she had excrement. It's so humiliating and heart wrenching and they all failed her. This world and this life failed her.

  • @VTPSTTU

    Thanks for the recap.
    Schizophrenia can be a horrible disease, and if the family was telling the truth, that would explain things. At that time in society, many people would try to keep a family member confined rather than admit that a family member had a mental illness. I can't completely dismiss the brother's account.
    On the other hand, the world is full of people who are addicted to power and control. If her mother was that kind of person, society of that time would have allowed her mother to inflict that kind of imprisonment on a daughter. The effect of being treated that way for decades would have destroyed the victim. I'm inclined to believe that the mother committed this atrocity, but obviously, I can't be sure from across the world and over a hundred years later. If the mother inflicted this torture on her, I hope her mother is punished for all of eternity.

    • @sweettexast2894
      @sweettexast2894 Месяц назад +8

      But she wasn’t schizophrenic. That’s just it. They said that to cover their tracks. They have the money in the means to put her in a proper facility. Had she actually been schizophrenic but she was not. It was to keep her from marrying someone that her mother did not deem fit. It’s disgusting.

    • @peternolan4107
      @peternolan4107 Месяц назад +1

      Please drop the "punished for all of eternity" nonsense. This crime was committed on this earth. The mother and brother got away with it for years even though others knew about it. The failure of earthly justice let them get away with what was essentially murder.

    • @VTPSTTU
      @VTPSTTU Месяц назад +1

      @@sweettexast2894 We don't know whether she was schizophrenic. We have no real evidence in either direction. I lean towards believing that her mother just didn't like her boyfriend, but I don't have any evidence. You don't have any evidence either. Plenty of people just hear a story and jump to a conclusion that satisfies a need to feel the emotional catharsis of self-righteous indignation. That feeling is one of the worst addictions in modern society. We need to go back to a time when we looked at things rationally and admitted to what we do and do not know.
