    I discovered you yesterday and I absolutely love your style. I live in west Africa and I am a petite too.
    Your LK Benett blazer is gorgeous and don't be stuck in your mind because of the color of it. You can wear it with white jeans as the jeans will make your outfit more casual. The color is beautiful especially during colder times and will lift your mood up and your general look as well. Don't get stuck in a mind pattern.
    Much love

      Hi Lakhsara! 🙋‍♀️ Thanks so much for making the time to watch and share your thoughts, I really appreciate it and it's lovely to meet another fellow petite 😊
      I love your suggestion to wear the blazer with white jeans, that's a beautiful colour combination and one I feel would work really well 💕
      Appreciate your kind words and support 🙏

    Great guidelines. I think everyone can really benefit from a professional color analysis and developing a color palette for their wardrobe. A wardrobe with every color in it lacks cohesion and makes it really difficult to put outfits together. Choosing one’s neutrals and what I call basic colors (almost-neutrals like navy, khaki, browns, etc.). Even with my limited Summer palette I find some colors just tricky to style, like purples, turquoise, etc. Even though they work with my coloring, I decided not to buy any more of them. I don’t agree with most people that any color looks good with black, you know “you can always wear that with black pants”, no I can’t.

    • @LaurenGraceHarding
      @LaurenGraceHarding  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Kimberly! 🙏 Agree with your point on every colour = lack of cohesion in a wardrobe 🎨 This is exactly the situation I found myself in a few years ago, climbing my way out of it the last few years.... I love turquoise, absolutely adore it, especially for summer 💚🌞💙 You make a good point about finding your neutrals and the basic colours. Have you found your colours have shifted at any time? I know when my hair colour is warmer and I have a bit of colour during summer I can slightly change to colours I may steer clear from during fall/winter....

    By the way, you can dress your Tutu skirt down by pairing it with a t shirt and Gucci whiye loafers or ballerinas or even sneakers

    hi Lauren. thank you for a great video. I have also made the mistake of too many colors and not enough basics and also too tight fitting clothes. I am blessed to be able to buy a new wardrobe, also because I have lost about 8 Kg and I am a size 6 now. I am adding new items needed for a basics each month and some shoes. My feet are very narrow so I battle to find good shoes. I wear 3 and a half to size 4. I have found Europa Art caters for my needs.

      Hi Ivana, thank you for making the time to watch and comment and I'm really happy you liked the video 🙏 it's nice to know I'm not alone in some of my experiences here!
      I've list about the same weight myself this year, so completely relate to what you're going through with needing to update some pieces and wardrobe essentials. It's also great you've been able to find some clothing and footwear retailers that suit you as well, I love finding those stores and often stay loyal to a brand for many years if it works 💯
      Thanks again for making the time to watch and share your feedback and experiences, much appreciated 😘

    Hi Lauren! As we change to the fall season here in the States, I spent time in my closet today in an attempt to fine tune a capsule wardrobe I've worked at creating, but unfortunately struggle to succeed in doing well. In watching your video, it dawned on me that several of your mistakes are ones I've made and am STILL making: too many colors, not investing in basics and not wearing colors that are suitable for my hair and skin tones! Thanks for all of the great tips!

    • @LaurenGraceHarding

      Hi Yvonne! 🙋‍♀️ Sorry for my late reply, I missed seeing your message when it came through 😔 Ah I do love a wardrobe change over! It's great to hear my tips helped and be gentle with yourself too - honestly I have so much to improve with my wardrobe now and am still learning! E.g. I recently bought a new knit because of the colour, even though I hardly wear that colour in my wardrobe 😆 I'm still working on adding basics to my wardrobe as well - so we're on this journey together!!!! 💯 Wishing you good luck with creating your capsule wardrobe and please keep me updated as to how it goes! 😊

    Wearing too many colours resonates with me. I found out I have clear spring colouring a couple years ago and went a little too far in that direction, missing out on a lot of neutrals (other than navy)

    • @LaurenGraceHarding
      @LaurenGraceHarding  3 года назад

      Hi Lisa 🙋‍♀️ I completely understand and can relate to that experience myself as well. It would be helpful if the seasonal colour guides included a variety of neutrals, alongside colours 🎨

    White silk tanks or silk knits like tee shirt styles could be worn with those fancy skirts, for a more casual look. I get the most mileage out of my skirts and dresses if they are very simple and of good fabrics, they can be dressed up or down. This is a modern thing, in my youth wearing a silky skirt with a t-shirt was unthinkable, a silky blouse was required. Likewise, a silk shirt could never be worn with a denim skirt. I do both of these mixes now.

    • @LaurenGraceHarding
      @LaurenGraceHarding  3 года назад +1

      Love the concept of adding in a silk tank or knit....I only have one in my wardrobe and was eyeing off a white one last year 🤍 It's great that you can get the mileage out of pieces and make them work for dressing up/down - makes the cost per wear a lot more reasonable too 😀 Do you have any retailers you would recommend for a silk tank or shirt? I would love to hear your suggestions! 🙏

    I seem to buy things that feel too big since putting a bit of weight on and I look slimmer in the smaller size clothes that I own.

    • @LaurenGraceHarding
      @LaurenGraceHarding  3 года назад +1

      Hi Joan, ah I can imagine that must feel a bit frustrating 🤔 Would you be able to get some of the bigger pieces tailored? That way they'd fit you perfectly 🥰

  • @kimberlyperrotis8962
    @kimberlyperrotis8962 3 года назад +2

    I think wearing clothes that are too tight is the biggest style mistake American women make. There is a tendency to buy the smallest possible size a woman can somehow squeeze into, rather than the most flattering size. Those horizontal strain lines, underarm straining, gapping at shirt buttons, etc., just make women look a lot heavier than they really are, and can look a bit tarty, too. Women are too obsessed with being a certain label size. I see clothes that are two sizes too small every single day. I like to allow some ease and for some shrinkage, as I buy natural fibers and viscose.

    • @LaurenGraceHarding
      @LaurenGraceHarding  3 года назад +1

      Hi Kimberly, thanks for making the time to share your thoughts on this! The strain lines and buttons gaping are good indicators about a too small size 💯 I think for me, I've purchased some items which whilst they weren't too small, their design/cut was intended as body-con or slim fit. Now I'm more open to classic fit or slightly relaxed fit. Maybe as I'm maturing so is my taste (hopefully)! 🤞 Definitely am on a journey of my own to explore personal style so it's interesting with the discoveries I'm making and also learning via connecting with yourself and others here 😊 It's great you like the natural fibres too, I find they feel much more comfortable to wear 🧶🪡🧵

    I don't get the "particular colour tone suits you better than the other". I find "colour tone" is arbitrary and needs to be broken. The tan jumper just look as well as the blue one on you. Women need to stop telling them bs to limit their ability to feel good in any colour or style of attire.
