This was one of the first ff games that wasn’t turn based

I love how he can jump 360° no scope the helicopter while being above it and upside down, land on a roof and do an amazing flip etc but in the game he can't jump, needs to peek around corners to pew pew at enemies.
In hindsight,Gameplay was definitely generic.
Guess that's what happens if you have chaos and anti-chaos powers embedded into your body, the likes of which the planet itself created as a countermeasure against destruction. Vincent kind of OP (more than Cloud anyway)
This game is a hidden gem. Been playing it and it’s amazing for a ps2 game. Only bad thing is no 16:9

Imagine if the love of your life was responsible for your father’s death, and because of the guilt, instead of turning to you she turns to a mad scientist who gets her pregnant and then the fetus gets experimented by the same mad scientist by being injected with alien DNA that has supernatural powers, and the scientist himself is like a mad scientist from a haunted castle, and you get experimented on accordingly like Frankenstein mad, but if Dr. Frankenstein was as evil as Hitler. The scientist is THAT type of mad. And at some point you were forced against your will to also be experimented on by the same mad scientist who turns you into a monster who can shapeshift into a werewolf and something similar to the Frankenstein monster and other creatures. Then your lover gets all remorseful and blames herself for all of that because she turned to the scientist instead of you, and when their baby is born the baby is immediately taken from her without her having the chance to hold the baby even once, all because of it having been experimented on as a fetus and therefore more than human. And so because of that and her guilt of how much she has allowed her choices to hurt you, she ends up taking her own life, and then because of that you become very miserable to where you decide to be locked away inside the castle’s cellar in a coffin sleeping and not dead, for the rest of eternity (someone else wakes you up after 28 years though) because since the experiments you cannot age, hunger, thirst, nor can you die unless killed in battle. And when you do wake up, the one who woke you informs you that the child who was the fetus of your lover those 28 years prior, which child is now a full grown adult, has turned evil bent on ending the world.
That’s how depressing Dirge of Cerberus - Final Fantasy VII is.

This was my first Final Fantasy game because it didn’t have “suggestive themes” so I was allowed to buy it lol. I was in love with the Kingdom Hearts series and FF was that elusive unattainable outside of this game.
This & crisis core deserve to be remastered.

Been wanting to play this! I picked it up a long time ago and have had it just sitting in my backlog. Looks so good!
It is a fun game. Just make sure though that you REALLY mentally and emotionally prepare for the story behind it, because the story is pretty sad!

@@rzsonnygameplays the missions this game adds really makes you appreciate what it was trying to achieve. Skill was definitely something you could achieve just not worth getting in the main story.

I don't think this game is as bad as some people say it is. Despite being a major deviation from traditional RPGs, it's not horrible, but sometimes it can feel a bit stiff in terms of control. The setting feels a bit generic as well, at least in the beginning with the typical city. Particularly in comparison to the gorgeous setting of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Final Fantasy 12 and Final Fantasy 14. However, the graphics do look quite nice for the time, Vincent is awesome in this and I love the idea of weapon customization! Maybe if they give this a remake, make it more like the recent Resident Evil games only more accustomed to taking on Shinra and its Soldiers and keep in the moddding mechanic.

Holy shit, I completely forgot about this game.
im not really into turn based and couldn't care less about final fantasy games, but 7 have an interesting stories n characters, i pushed myself watching the gameplay of ff7 og, just to get familiar with the stories, and thank god this game exists, so i could experience it myself, and most importantly thank god for remake release, that's the best game I've ever played, i enjoy the battle system so much

I am using these settings but my game runs at like 20-30% speed!!! Anyone know a fix? I play way more demanding games than this one through Steam. I only see 1.4.0 on the PCSX2 website. How do I get 1.5.0?

Emulator isn't perfect, especially for a complicated systems like those PS2-3
Emulator isn't perfect, the ps2-3 systems is very complicate, there are no guarantee you will have perfect or same perfomance as showed here even for higher system, and there could be many reasons that cause perfomance problem.
Try opengl or lower the internal resolution.
I hope they remake all of the ff7 spinoffs
