- Been a hot minute since I uploaded a vocal cover. I finally said an expletive and decided to upload something instead of being unmotivated forever. Hope you like it. All the vocals are 100% me, no Rob in the audio whatsoever. The intro guy is not me. I doubled my lead vocal to make it sound thicker which is why you hear two of me singing all the time and then 3 of me on the chorus.

thx I just try to figure out how to change my voice shape a little to at least fit the song. I don't really have MY voice so I just try to copy other ones. But I never get 100% copy. Not any song I have done seems that way. I got close with Sultans of Swing tho.

Yeah, it's all about the timing I think. Trying to get it in time and on pitch and it's not too hard but my pitch was always wanting to go flat. but I tweaked it to the moon to try and fix all my little issues. thx!

This is one of my favorite songs! It may sound weird but it never fails to cheer me up and your version was no exception! I think you really captured the rough growl this song really needs. I love how you doubled your vocal to add depth and all the other effects you added. I'm so happy you shared this even when feeling unmotivated. I hope you say an expletive and upload again soon. :)
haha yeah, well, I just have gone through quite a lot of negative things so I haven't wanted to do much in a long time. Thx and I do plan to upload some more vocal tunes.

White zombie has been one of my favorite bands since I was a shorter younger person (I know this is a solo track of his and not WZ of course). Rob has a a very hard voice to replicate. Even Rob doesn't sound like Rob tbh haha.
That being said, I really dig you're rendition here. It has the same energy and vibe without sounding like a poorly aped imitation of the original. Awesome job, keep em coming!

Yeah, I just doubled the vocal bit haventbtried any vocal plugins much. I'm sure there's cool stuff out there. I just use basic ones. Pitch shifter and autotune. Eq. Compression. Doubling. Ty

You always say that. :) It's funny, when I was doing this yesterday, I thought of you and if you'd know this song and I said to myself, she HAS to know this song. It was played so much but I was wrong! haha glad you liked it. I just tried my best and finding some voice close to his was really hard. His has this really cool quality to it that I couldn't (apparently) replicate. His is somehow just cooler sounding while mine almost sounds like a wrestler singing it. hehe

How hard is this on your voice. Very powerful.
Oh, it's easy. that distortion is not my vocal cords, it's like my throat and so I could probably do that for an hour easy. it's not really yelling loudly, just letting some stuff flap around inside the throat near the back. So no, this is not hard. But yelling loudly with more throaty distortion will aggravate my throat after about 30 minutes. I did a few voice over jobs like that and it definitely makes you not want to talk after that all day. ty!
