eh.... I did this in some haste. But that's life. Read below for info about HOW I did this
As with most of my rock tunes, I PITCH SHIFT my voice range upward so I can sing these higher key songs. It's a process. I first LOWER the pitch of the backing track (sometimes even 7 semitones) and then I sing to that. I record me singing AND film myself. THEN, I turn off the shifter on the backing track and then put one on my vocal pitching it UP by the same # I used to pitch the backing track DOWN. Now, I put various effects on it to add verb, echo, sculpt the sound with some eq and corrective eq (multiband compression helps) and also.... AUTOTUNE. I autotune most all of these but I try to keep it down to a reasonable amount. Hope that helps explain how I do this and also WHY I am not interested in bands, talent shows, blabalbal. I am not a singer, really. I just pretend to be in my studio and I hope the end result is nice. :)

Holy smokes! This vid ballooned up to over half a million views in like 2 months thanks to someone posting a link on the Scorpions' Facebook page. I just want to say thank you to all the people who have viewed and commented. Obviously, I can no longer respond to most of the comments (how do you type a thank you to 10,000 comments from all my other vids?) so I will put a big fat one here at the top of this comment section. I had no idea people would enjoy this tune so much and I've had so many great comments on this and other vids that I hate that I cannot respond to each one personally - as I used to do since around 2008 or whenever I joined RUclips. Scorpions just didn't get the exposure in the u.s. that they got everywhere else in the world - hence we just see a ton less RUclips covers of their songs sadly. This one is amazing no doubt though.

Mark Kookie, actually his age does matter as there is a tendency for singers to lose some of their upper registry as they age. We hit our vocal prime in our 30s and 40s, then it’s downhill.

Truth, Today I revisited your amazing rendition of Still Loving You in which you dedicated the song to your wife and thinking what a Cool guy you are and based on what I've seen and heard of your work including the material on your home channel here at RUclips I feel compelled to mention how, like in many of your covers you truly sing the songs with a clearer and noticeable crispness in your vocals sometimes even better then the original artist only you are clearly using much less recording equipment then what these big rock bands have access to in the studio and I am particularly astonished when you tell us you've never sung the song before and had no rehearsals prior to laying down the track. I am telling you this with no disingenuousness or mockery sometimes when I go back and listen to the song by the original artist I can't help but get the feeling that it seems they're trying to cover your song to the best of their ability. Thank you again for making my day a little bit brighter.
I like to reply when someone posts something legit. No, I don't really rehearse the songs. I MAY sing the first verse and chorus once or twice (in the old days) and see where the tone goes, if I like it or need to adjust it for the singer's sound and then once I think oh, I can do this, THEN I d/l the lyrics, make a backing track w/o lead vocals (karaoke tracks on YT usually) and then I film myself singing. Then occasionally I'll resing the whole thing and pick the takes and chunks I like best. That is tricky cuz the lips won't always line up to the audio. So, most of what you hear was done live (in most songs). like 95% of the songs. Then chunks I resing to fix maybe one flat note or a section I didn't like but sometimes it's almost all live like this one had maybe 2 punch ins after the fact.
So, no, I literally do NOT rehearse the songs until I know them (words). These are all old songs so the melodies I know, not the words so I rehearse only barely then I literally sing the lyrics off my PC screen as I'm filming and singing. That's it. In the last year tho, some songs are all prerecorded. I can't even be bothered to sing them live anymore. Too many things in my life and I'm getting too old to spend time learning and practicing, I guess. Thank you for your post.
