When I was young, I'd see old people around and just think they were a different species. It still surprises me that I've *_become_* one of that species.
Born 3 years prior to this song, it prominent song in my household during my childhood in 70s.. now hearing this and seeing those youngster in the video remind me so much of my late teen and young adult times in 80s, it doesn't help that they're dressed more or less in tune to those years.. it felt like yesterday..
I was Saying that a few Days Ago. Where does time go and time flies when your a child growing up. Today I’m 45 years old and I do Everyday miss being a kid Again. I wish those Days would come back for me. God bless Everyone listening to this song.
Indeed those were the days. I, and my love, spent fifty years watching each other enjoy being alive. A year ago she died. Those were the days. These are the days. Time to keep going.
And now....after watching this Nearly half decade commercial I grew up with.. can we have back our lands we lent you? Can I have that gorgeous hair pipe chocker and wear it with pride instead of being laughed at like in the 1990s?
During 2020 COVID-19 I got locked in the city and couldn't go home. Feeling alone and nostalgic, listened to this song for the first time and read many of the comments. Now after 4 years I'm here again. Whenever I see an older person, I have always wondered what tales they could tell. Now I'm 26 btw. Time flies
Beautiful video! I have always loved this song and I really enjoyed how this video was done, to go with it. Very beautiful ladies, also. Thank you for posting! =)
Music is a constant in our lives You hear a beautiful pattern and you immediately think at some point either of it or even of yourself. The world is changing, but music remains as immortal as the spirit and soul of each of us
A beautiful song with a sweet voice 👍. I have listened this song for last 4-5 days playing again and again, will continue to do so. I think nobody can stop me. La la la la.... La la la la.🙂
This was one of my late sister's favorite songs. Said it reminded her of a pub she frequented in LA back in the 50s, when she was a young, free spirit. I used to call her the Original Hippie! She left this earth far too soon, but what wonderful memories she gave us. Can't get through this song without a few tears. And so I raise a glass to Maggie, Will never stop missing you, Sis!
Anita in Oregon Im sorry to hear that. Im Elnor in Korea. My husband also went to heaven so early, 8years ago. Then he was 39. Sometimes i feel depressed. But life must go on. Cheer up dear Antina.
Anita in Oregon Rest In Peace Maggie. And Anita, I'm sorry for your loss, as I try to remember when I lose a loved one: we can and will most certainly miss them, but we can also be thankful that we were blessed enough to spend time in our lives with them and instead of shedding tears we should try to instead feel the love and happiness that they brought into our lives. I know it's easier said than done, but you have to think, Maggie would definitely want you to live on as happy as you possibly can be. Music is a VERY powerful thing though and it can bring a very wide array of emotions to our hearts. Unfortunately though, songs like these can sometimes bring sadness and nothing I or anyone else says can change that. So sorry for your loss Anita, I hope you have a very wonderful life and can sometimes feel warmth, happiness, and love when you remember your sister! Take care. 🙂
You bring me back to my childhood this is sooo old and i used to love it soooo much decades gone by and so happy that I finally hear it in here again Thanks for sharing it! Who could have known that I will still hear this song again cause I do not know the name only know by the tunes Enjoy till the end! Hope you have a great weekend!
Such a soulful song, when young I liked the rhythm and the words made little sense to me, now I am 62 and boy if those words hits home! Of course back in the 60s it was my time to make the stuff to have memories about, now I am 62 and I have memories to reminisce.
Always enjoyed good memory of this popular song from you; So sweet tender song so entertaining. (Noum Vorajak) Hope you're entire family having an amazing cozy day as well
Listening to this great Era I'm so glad I was born in the 60's takes me back to a place, my friends and I can never go again.. Thanks for a beautiful song .🌷✌️ & Memories.
Bittersweet memories. I was married with a family and a demanding job. I met my best friend from my high school days and we went for a drive. This song came on the radio and both of us started to sing it. It was if we both realized we were going our separate ways and the great times we had together were ended. Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end. But they did.
So true, that the past , those were the days !!!! Now on for new memories just as good! But how? Time and a place maybe! Timing right, place right! People right! Only thing it's never right!
That was beautiful. Lovely clips to go with your song. Great song from many a day ago. Thanks for sharing this with us all. Enjoy your afternoon. ♥ Hugs, Ashley ♥
I''m 65 now (2020) and when this song came out, I was in 9th grade...to put a little perspective on it. OMG....this song just ruled the airwaves...it got overplayed 1000%. I never cared for it....it sure was different than the hard rock I loved then and STILL love now. In southern Arizona where I grew up, there was a family of 4 good-looking sisters that moved in....they were from the NYC area....and obviously they were light-years more advanced than most of the sun-baked, desert-rat kids I grew up with. I was at their house to ride mini-bikes with their kid brother...and I swear....this song would always be blaring in the background, and all these fine looking fast-paced sisters would be gallivanting around their home singing this song to the top of their lungs. They'd really get into it...really animated....just having good clean fun. You bet I lusted after them...they were the coolest girls! I remember about this same time the Lunar Landing on the Moon was also during this same time period. 1969....wow! If any of you Magrini girls are reading this, now you know 50 years later that you all had me twisted up in testosterone KNOTS!

I think all of us have a "Those Were The Days" recollection as we age. At age 74 I sure have and thank God for memory. We must live in the today but absent memory we are lost and adrift.
Brings back much happier memories. Back then, I never could have envisioned in a Million years that we would be existing in such a bizarre world we are now days. Thank God for Music An Memories!
GREAT! Was a freshman at Princeton in 1968 and I could not get enough of this song! Brings back so many great memories except for competing academically with almost a thousand high school valedictorians! HA! Thanks for posting, Suzyy70! -- Blessings, John :-)
👍🙏those were days which are actually better days though we were without many materialistic things! But suddenly they all ended with memories only! That shows that life is full of changes progressively!

Enjoy your youth. You will wake up one morning and wonder where it went. I know I am 77 years old. I still love this song, those were the days.
When I was young, I'd see old people around and just think they were a different species. It still surprises me that I've *_become_* one of that species.
Mate ,from Sheffield England i am 67 and it feels like from 25/30 years ago I've almost been teleported from then to now .Insane how time passes !

옛날 생각이 새록 새록 나네요
원곡은 러시아 민요'머나먼 길'입니다.
지나간 일들은 ㅋ

오늘도 술한잔에 아름다운 멋스럼들 이 흘러가네 .

I fell in love with this song as a teenager....made me cry even then....now almost 79 yrs old and it still touches my heart.....
I am almost at the same age as you and I sure share the same feeling. I love this song!
Mz Ducks...Too bad you were 30 when it was released in 1968! lol
I listened to this song countless times when I was in university. Now I am almost 68 and still like it.
yes, I know how U feel, but it's still sweet anyway ,isn't it?
Karen, you still around?
A song of my childhood! Listen and sing and my eyes are full of tears when the old days rush back...
May I ask how old are u ,I am a 50yo taiwanese, but it seems so touching my heart
yes, it is a awesome song with a romantic melody make us seemed sink in every note. Thát is reason that it is so popular in many languages
Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
❤️❤️❤️
👍
Yea that makes me sad
And now....after watching this Nearly half decade commercial I grew up with.. can we have back our lands we lent you? Can I have that gorgeous hair pipe chocker and wear it with pride instead of being laughed at like in the 1990s?
Nice wisdom

Believe the 60's were the days, but we didn't appreciate them at the time. What a beautiful song.
Takes me back to my childhood and my mother singing along to Mary Hopkins on the Radio
Quá hay, đã nghe từ năm 73, lâu lâu nghe lại vẩn hay, giọng ca mộc mạc để thương, nhớ làị những ngày xa xưa ấy
Cháu năm nay 31 thích bài này lắm luôn.
