    This is so informative! Can you do a budget video for students? I find it hard to balance money while in school.

    i’m really interested in sonography but i’m a bit nervous about some aspects. i was never really academically focused or advanced and i’d say i’m rather behind in things like math. i’m sure i could figure it out but the lab papers, presenting, projects, essays, give me a bit of anxiety😅

    I love this video. Thank you for posting. I am heading into a DMS program this coming August. Your routine is so organized and relaxing. I read the understanding ultrasound physics book, do you have any good book recommendations? Thanks again for sharing 😊

      Thank you! That's awesome that you started reading ahead. The Edelman physics book is honestly my biggest recommendation. That's the same book my program used and I used the review to study for my registry which I passed, so you are right on track !

    Lol girl I go back and forth with lifetime and hallmark movies. Sometimes I get in my feelings and I want to watch a hallmark happy movie. But then Sometimes I’m in the mood for a crazy lifetime movie. Sometimes they are silly but still good haha.

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  4 года назад +10

      Hi Francis. There isn't a lot of math in the program , just a bit of calculations during ultrasound physics so don't be nervous. Also the physics is different from the regular college physics. It can be challenging but you'll get through it if you study well ! Don't make that stop you. & You'll get so used to talking to patients your shyness won't even affect you.

    Hey I love the video! But a question, I’m worried for my maths and physics, I’m not the greatest person when it comes to those classes? What do you recommend

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  4 года назад +5

      Don't worry about the math or physics. There isn't much math and the physics is not what you think. It's ultrasound physics which deals mainly with the machine and how the images appear on the screen. Keep up with studying and you will be fine!

    How many hours were you studying each day?

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  3 года назад +8

      I would say at least 1.5-2 hours for sure. Time flies so fast when studying because of all the content. Maybe cover a topic or whatever you went over in class and use that as a guide to keep up with studying.

  • @gotori321

    11 packets?? How do you remember all of that information? I’m applying for programs now and I’m slightly nervous trying to figure out how to be financially stable and participate in a demanding program. Any tips?

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  3 года назад +2

      It's definitely challenging but you can do it if you stay on top of your studying. A few of my classmates had jobs while doing the program and although difficult they managed to pull it off. Definitely balance your time and study any chance you get when you aren't working. It may be difficult to study after work being tired but you could try waking up earlier, studying during lunch breaks at school etc to maximize your time. Its hard but if you are determined you can do it

    I haven't started the program yet, but I watched an ultrasound vid here on youtube and it looked like gibberish to me lol. How long did it take for you and your classmates to grasp the scans/images seen on the machine?

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  3 года назад +3

      Yes I understand, I was confused in the beginning too but with time it will all start to make sense so don't worry. I'd say midway through our first clinical rotations we all started to grasp everything clearly. You will still feel lost on some days but you will have a general understanding when you start your clinicals and see patients every week

    What books would you say are most haves? I want to go to school to become an ultrasound technician but I won’t be able to for another year so I want to prepare before hand and learn as much as possible while I wait.

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  3 года назад +1

      sonography scanning principles and protocols by Betty Bates Tempkin is a good starter book in my opinion. My program started us with that book. It's very concise and simple and gives you a basic understanding of ultrasound - the views and planes, how to scan etc.

    Hey , love this video! I have a question. How can I prepare to take USA test? Could you share the resources with me . I thank you 💙

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  3 года назад +1

      Hey thank you ! I never used many outside resources for studying. My program was very good and gave us a lot of notes. I used my program notes and a little bit of the textbook to study. If you can find the ESP/Edelman study guide those are also helpful but I believe they changed up the study guide to make it an online study session not a physical book to buy anymore.
      Any study guide will be useful though, you just need one with many practice tests and try to understand the information as much as possible to increase your chance of passing the boards.

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  3 года назад

      No I never took trig. I had pre calculus done before I took physics but trig could also be a prereq accepted for physics depending on your school. When signing up for the course it shows what you need to take before registering so definitely check that for confirmation!

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  3 года назад +2

      Yes that's the hardest part for most people. Thankfully I was able to work the previous year while staying home so I saved decent money and budgeted really well. One of my classmates worked and they managed. It was hard but its doable. I would say utilize any down time the best you can. If you aren't at work read a chapter or two and definitely refresh whatever you learn in class each day so you don't fall behind.
