It was in this position the players agreed to a draw, Kasparov said Lasker had lost his confidence and the commenters on Twitch livestream complained about the number of draws.
Yes, draw, but a very interesting game; unlike the recent world championship, which--in case anyone's forgotten--was nothing but draws (in the classical format, all of the first 12 games). And even after that, the "overtime" or "speedier" games weren't all that interesting either! This Lasker/Capybara game was better'n all of 'em. Can I get a witness??
The photo in the beginning was taken at the international super-tournament in Moscow in 1925. Capablanca finished in 3rd place behind Lasker (2nd) and Bogoljubow (1st).
Is good that he is a human and is fallible. Image a robot voice, dispassionate and flawlessly announcing moves. I accept all his flaws to enjoy his appealing style and personality.
6:17 "... take that, Dr. Siegbert Tarrash" I remember another game Capablanca played, which was analyzed by Tarrash afterwards, and Tarrash suggested a "better move" in a certain position. However in the era of chess engines, the engines have shown Tarrash has missed 1 line, and Capablanca actually played the strongest move.
It’s similar to how Johann Jakob Löwenthal comments on Morphy’s games throughout the Morphy saga, and usually misses important lines and suggests moves that are either easily refutable via modern engines or just straight out blunders. It’s a recurring theme in the Morphy saga, and actually quite funny whenever it happens
#suggestion (I don't know if I'm doing this correctly, pertaining to your protocol; please forgive me if not): I suggest that you show us game #66 of the current Leela vs. Stockfish epic battle. The reasons are three-fold: 1. It was the game that had to be replayed, after Leela's internet dropped or something (it was originally scored as a win for Stockfish, but then the "tournament directors" decided otherwise); 2. Stockfish DID eventually win this game in the end, fair and square... and I don't believe you've showed one of Stockfish's wins in this struggle yet; 3. The game itself is very exciting, with a very exciting finish, given the 2 rooks vs. queen, etc.
14:54 is knowledge worth gold. This is why I only watch this chess channel! My rating is nothing spectacular, but I've quickly grown into an average player watching these videos, it teaches me how to think for myself. Keep up the awesome videos! #Suggestion Fischer Vs Byrne's 1964 game I haven't found an analysis of that game that I could understand as well as if you were explaining it
The Square of the Pawn Amazing! I've been playing chess for years and have watched all of your videos but this is the first time I hear about this "trick" to avoid calculations. I do always have to count the movements to check if the opposite king can catch my pawn before queening!
Simply you are the best. Your name should be saved in the history of chess. BTW please cover more game from LASKER after all he was World Champion for many years
Thank you for that square of the pawn hack and thank you for all the amazing videos you make.I'm a chess beginner and I'm learning so much from your channel. If someone has advice for beginners feel free to share😊
I never usually comment on videos, but I think I just heard the loudest "hello everyone" ever! Switched from my headphones to speakers and windows volume was 100... RIP!
The photo doesn't appear to be from this game. In the photo Capablanca had castled while Lasker's king was still in the center after more development appears to have occurred.
Thr photo was their world championship match..i downloaded a pdf file from internet of the match which was annotated by capablanca and the first page showed that picture.
In the game photo, Capablanca seems relaxed so they must be either posing or analyzing a game -- they're definitely not playing. Lasker is holding a white piece, so he is either capturing or placing Capa's piece (a bishop?).
#EpicMusic I have already listened to this piece and as soon as I heard u saying epic music I thought that it might be brunhuville's wolf and moon and to my surprise it was what it was and it was exciting... Brunuhville has composed some other beautiful instrumentals as well and feel free to check out them too 😉
LOL... Epic music... You crack me up!!!!! Keep up the good work Agadmator!!! I have 4 subscribed channels, My GF's daughter's, Larry Wheel, one for EVE online and yours!!!!!
White will first capture black's horse on c4. Leaving you with doubled c pawn and white's doubled c pawn will be solved and will control the center with e4 and d4 pawn.
Square of the pawn, vast knowledge increase :)
Had never heard of that either...great content as always!
It was in this position the players agreed to a draw, Kasparov said Lasker had lost his confidence and the commenters on Twitch livestream complained about the number of draws.
Hahaha that reference
😂😂😂
And Capablanca said at the press conference that Gary was entitled to his stupid opinion.
LMAO

That square of the pawn is a nice addition to the vast knowledge. Love this channel 👍👍👍
6:15 Take that doctor Tarrasch
Dedication level: watched epic music, came back and then watched the video. #IAmAnExcellentSubscriber
Count me in
00:54
Lasker: ill take this
Capablanca: *THATS A BLUNDER*
Why do I hear this in a Scottish accent?
Just subscribed. I quit chess a long time ago (many other board games nowadays) but your channel is a pleasure to watch. Thank u!
The photo in the beginning was taken at the international super-tournament in Moscow in 1925. Capablanca finished in 3rd place behind Lasker (2nd) and Bogoljubow (1st).
Vast knowledge 0:00
First move 1:17
Completely new game 5:22
You should include nice phrases such as: "Take that doctor Tarrasch" at 6:15
I find Antonio's mistakes funny sometimes 'king to g8' That's a funny looking 'king' 7:20
🤣😂

Thats so spooky, i just learnt a few hours ago about the square of the pawn in a book and the next agad video i see he talks about it!
That moment you like the video before you even watch it 😂 been waiting for this for a while. Thanks Agad
Keep up the great work bro I’m LOVNG this saga so far!
I did as you told, came here after listening to some epic music. You were right, now I'm in the perfect mood to watch this video. 😀
Epic video, epic Lasker and epic Agad! :)

#Suggestion Stockfish won an absolutely epic game 66 against Leela. Please show that game.
to the top
yes please, we need to see that leela and alpha are not perfect!
Yeeeeeeeeeeees
Excellent analysis and commentary. Been watching your videos for years and this is one of your best!

Your videos are just amazing and the comments and analysis are always really simple and isightfull! Thank you for the great job.
Im so glad that i knew the soundtrack you linked, I love it so much
Cap looks extremely confident in the photo at the beginning. It's no wonder how he was able to win the title.
The Square of the Pawn
Amazing! I've been playing chess for years and have watched all of your videos but this is the first time I hear about this "trick" to avoid calculations. I do always have to count the movements to check if the opposite king can catch my pawn before queening!
Who has a higher rating: Sunglasses Pillow, or Teeth Pillow?
Kidlink77 absolutely sunglasses pillow
I heard that sunglasses pillow had a FIDE rating of 2834
@@darkmatter6525 I'm waiting for the day the dog eliminates the pillow competition
Teeth pillow/Capablanca-Sunglass pillow/lasker
Sunglass pillow, cuz it looks calm and cool. Teeth pillow is clearly nervous.
Love your videos. Keep up the good work Antonio! 👍
A knight on the rim saved his skin.
The knight on the side stemmed the tide.
lol
Thank you for the rooms to go ads, i now know where to go to get some excellent furniture
Thank you for the epic music!
@agadmator epic fantasy music: loved it made the video more interactive thanks for the suggestion :D
I just listened to the epic music. Boy am I ready!!
Owners of the copyright of Epic Music should preface the music with Epic Agadmator chess videos. Just to set the mood.
Simply you are the best. Your name should be saved in the history of chess. BTW please cover more game from LASKER after all he was World Champion for many years
Love Lasker too...
Square of the pawn was very good addition to analysis of the endgame. Had completely forgotten about it
wonderful unbiased presentation, thanks
Epic music is definitely needed for this
The only channel where I first watch the video without scrolling into the comments 😊
00:50 Capablanca- Lasker Moscow 1935
Lasker looks like a mad scientist who listens to epic music
First move 1:17 I know that who ever clicks of this needs some epic music
Music was beautiful. Thanks.
Thank you for that square of the pawn hack and thank you for all the amazing videos you make.I'm a chess beginner and I'm learning so much from your channel. If someone has advice for beginners feel free to share😊
Epic music really helped me get in the mood.
I was sure the epic music was going to be O Fortune from Carmina Burana, but I was wrong. Enjoyed it, and now on with the video.
I never usually comment on videos, but I think I just heard the loudest "hello everyone" ever!
Switched from my headphones to speakers and windows volume was 100... RIP!
I loved that epic music themed intro
congratulations, you are an excellent sharer of epic music
Sqaure of the pawn, gem of a knowledge piece indeed!
Epic music, Epic game same great content!
ONE OF MORE EXCITING DRAWS ANTONIO HAS SHOWN US THUS FAR!
That was some epic music
Keep the fire ON !!! Amazing work as allways! :) ✔️
"Easy Pizzy" (last game) 😂
playing the epic music on background and watching laskar smash cappa
finally somebody gives me a simple chess lesson i can use, the square of the pawn, ty Agadmator
On around 7:05, why capture Capa's rook with the knight instead of capturing with the Queen ?
At 1:28, The Three knights opening and at 1:31, The Four Knights Opening
BOOM! take that Tarrasch!
Finally is the word. This was in a period in which he was unbeaten for over 8 years. It had taken tooi long for him to get his chance.
A coverage of the match Steinitz vs Lasker in 1894 would be great!
Thanks guy. You are my favorit teacher :)
I listened to some epic music. I am a excellent listener of epic music😂😂
The photo doesn't appear to be from this game. In the photo Capablanca had castled while Lasker's king was still in the center after more development appears to have occurred.

THIS VIDEO MADE MY DAY
Btw today is Tarrasch death anniversary
*Aron Nimzowitsch dances in his grave*
No, that was 5 months ago
smh
That Tarrasch guy was quite outspoken huh? He also cut down Nimzowitsch's game, now Capablanca's....quite the "tarrasch talker" !
I have to go puke.
got the epic music playing with the video
In the game photo, Capablanca seems relaxed so they must be either posing or analyzing a game -- they're definitely not playing. Lasker is holding a white piece, so he is either capturing or placing Capa's piece (a bishop?).
Thanks for the square of the pawn !))
It would be nice to see an analysis of the Vienna 1898 Chess Tournament, mentioned in this video.
its sunday and i am a simple man. I see agad. i click. i watch video. i like video. :) keep it up agad we love you
#EpicMusic I have already listened to this piece and as soon as I heard u saying epic music I thought that it might be brunhuville's wolf and moon and to my surprise it was what it was and it was exciting... 7:20
King to G8😂
10:17
This Bishop, man😂
Actually there is a game played in London in 1913, where capa won in pawn end game. Please check
Well its nice to be here..have fun guys
Now look at these two! On one side, you have this attractive guy with great skin, and on the other, you have Jose Raul Capablanca.
This 07:20 Speedy King to G8 would be useful for Agadmator funny chess compilation video
My eyes are very good, so I can see the blurring of the photograph, not to mention the utter disaster of a haystack on Lasker's head.
playing the epic music in the background ;)
that intro got me more hyped than the new season of game of thrones
The pressure got to him, it’s always hard to play the World champion for the first time
Great video before bed time
Watching this while epic music playing in another tab
5:46 so wha do u doe here ? Lasker plays rook f7
Hey Agadmator. You should consider applying for a role in Hollywood. You'd make an excellent "General Zod".
2:49 but how a5 knight take on c6 queen d7 will win back the piece right?
I watched with music, it was amazing :)
The engine likes Capablanca's move, so take that, Doctor Siegbert Tarrasch!
The music he recommended is actually a banger, go watch it
I've been waiting for this match for a long time, thanks a lot for the video
2:06 AM pausing the video for epic music :D
haha the comments on the music you linked are all from excellent subscribers ;)
I increased my knowledge with the square of the pawn .. I really didn't know that 😂 thx
Since 5:32 it was possible to win a pawn by exd4 cxd4 and night x d4 that would attack bishopand queen...... What is wrong with that move?
White will first capture black's horse on c4. Leaving you with doubled c pawn and white's doubled c pawn will be solved and will control the center with e4 and d4 pawn.
Very good video!
Not a fair competition with Lasker being old and Capablanca being in his prime.
#suggestion How about covering the negotiations of World Championships? I'm sure there were some interesting negotiations throughout the years.
I rewatch all of the videos in capa saga
" and now you've created a past pawn and don't really care about anything else" - yep
