Advice from someone older: don't let your dissertation stress you out too much - yes it's ideal when you already know what you want to do after uni and can taylor your dissertation to this but you can always turn 180 degrees around and do something totally different (like putting your degree on hold and working at a cafe in australia) - you'll be fine
Yeah I did my master's dissertation in subject only tangentially related to what I do now (I went from physics to chemical engineering which ik sound like the same thing to some ppl but they're not lol). If you try hard enough it's nearly always possible to find a link between disciplines. For people still doing a degree, I recommend doing a broad range of modules and volunteering activities if possible as it gives you more options in your future. Plenty of high profile people like politicians and comedians started out at uni doing some random degree so it's definitely possible.
What I actually tend to forget a lot of the times is that you DON'T have to decide for a career you want to persue your entire life from now on. My mom studied biology when she was my age, did that for a while and after she gave birth, she decided to move on to a complete different path and does something with taxes now. She has never been unhappy with her choices, she just wanted to try things and it worked perfectly for her. It's okay, do what sparks interest to you and if thats not what you want to do, do something else. It is really simple. Also, english isn't my first language, so sorry for any mistakes in wording or grammar :)
I have been watching you for a good while now, 3-ish years? I've watched how your content has developed and the quality of your videos have sky rocketed, and I am just so proud of you for that. you have been a big part in my motivation to want to do well in school (which is paying off as I'm doing really well currently!) and I want to thank you for that. you are a RAY of positivity, the way you are authentic and we get to see the ups and downs in your life, and the passion you have for the things you do. you have such a beautiful and kind soul and I hope that you keep growing in that aspect as you're already pretty, pretty amazing. You're smile and curly hair are so pretty and just I love everything about you, I hope that you reach your future goals and that you just keep being yourself. Great video as usual! Have a great time at uni :D
okay the whole being "good on paper" thing is something I relate to SO MUCH and it was actually one of the things that made me realize how serious my anxiety was, because I got to a point in my life where I had accomplished what I ideally wanted to at that point, graduated with good grades and got into my dream university...and I still felt so anxious all the time. it made me realize that ticking off all these boxes isn't going to make me feel better; I have to work to make sure that I am happy and healthy. I am so stressed and anxious about career stuff and I have no idea what I want to study or do after I graduate. but maybe the answer lies in making sure that I create the best life for myself in this moment, and that will enable me to make any decisions I need to in the future. sending love!!
I cliked on this video after an hour of reading about university, majors, post-graduate studies, etc. just trying to figure out for the 1384 time what to study in this upcoming phase of my life, and can I just say your talk about your fear of what to do after you graduate and all the encouragment you gave to yourself at the same time was just what I needed at this moment. Thank you Jade
you're so inspiring as always and so full of happiness!! you always boost my mood so thank you! i hope you have a wonderful time at uni!! ♥️♥️ all my love
7:00 anker is amazing! I have the rose one and the quality is unbelievable!!! I also get phone chargers from them, they last 3+ with me and once you break your charger they send you one for absolutely nothing
Will you ever do a Q&A on your life in uni and how you move from country to country? or just a Q&A in general about how you feel about your student life so far?? lots of love from Australia!!
I don't know if you'll ever read this, but the way that you were talking about your existential midnight crisis was the most enjoyable part of the video and felt like a friend was talking to me. I would definitely love more such content!(I'd always love whatever you put out anyway ;))
i have some similar cards too (hygge cards) and i think they're great too. you're right - the stuff you get to uncover, where convo wouldn't usually go, is great! and you can get on good tangents from even seemingly quite boring/simple starter cards
I think you can add another characteristic to your packing habits: having meaningful conversations!✨ Thanks for making us feel normal with being a bit afraid of the future (career-wise). I know we'll get there!
I saw the title and thought to myself: "when is your packing not chaotic jade?" We've been there so many times at this point on this channel but I love the consistency 🔥
I love your videos so much because it’s like having a friend that’s going through similar stuff to you yet is somehow very wise and can be a role model/guide/inspiration at the same time:))
Hey Jade! MAYBE I HAVE SOME ADVICE! I'm about a year and a half away from finishing uni too, and, like you, I'm already thinking what will be my move after uni. In the past couple of years I've been in the process of "finding my purpose", but it wasn't until recently that it all fell into place, and every subject that I'd already studied at uni and the ones that still await for me started feeling a lot less random and a LOT more exciting and meaningful in the grand scheme of my personal journey. I'm SURE you came across Simon Sinek's "Start with WHY" TED Talk before, but I TRULY reccomend diving deeper into his whole discussion around people's WHYs (purposes), it REALLY helped me, I've never been happier and hopeful for the future. And beyond the "theoretical" part of the discussion, he has pretty specific practical ways to get to one's WHY. I also just think you'll end up absolutely LOVING him, he makes me think of you often, he's an unshakable optimist and he openly ADORES his family and his friends.
I want to stop for a second for really appreciate the fact that you uploaded a video with a 'bad audio' at some point, because this is just something that happens all the time to content creators! Thank you for reminding us that no matter the 'mistakes' one can make, the important thing is to go on.
saaame girl, lately I got superstressed about that too and already missing university even though I'm still on uni! It's really helpful hearing you talk about it and saying other people have it, calling it 'post-grad anxiety'. That makes it much less scary! And I know it's only a feeling and we just gotta ride the wave... Also when we're at that part of your life, all will be okay! :)
Im a really big fan of Jade your really inspiring keep up the good work I read the whole of your book that you wrote I really loved it and read it twice your videos always make me smile can't wait for your next upload xx
It's ok to feel stressed about your career after uni! It just shows that you care :) and maybe you feel a sort of pressure to be successful because of all the cool things you've already accomplished, but try not to think about that. You'll find tons of stuff to do at your own pace! also, I'm so excited to follow your journey in London!! I just discovered that I'm moving there for a master's program in the fall so I'll be learning more about the city through your videos! xoxo abby
I love you, Jade. You always bring me joy and brightness in to my day. You are such a sunshine. I needed this video so much. I have also almost finished reading your book and it’s amazing!!! I can’t wait to experience learning with the knowledge that I now have due to your book. Thank you so much for everything you do! I appreciate it. I love you!💜
I'm also 5 years out of undergrad and still not toootally sure what I want to do, I know it's wildlife conservation based, but I want to do EVERYTHING rather than one thing, but I think if you take things one step at a time and you kinda end up in the right place eventually. Definitely don't worry tooo much about the dissertation, experience (jobs/volunteering/internships) tends to be more useful in my experience anyway.
I graduated uni last year and still don’t know what I want to do career wise. Do what you enjoy and as long as you have enough money to live - you will be ok ☺️ enjoy your final year! It goes so quick
I understand the fear of not knowing what you wanna do after uni. I used to be so panicked about it. So after uni I decided to take a gap year, get a part time job and focus on my writing and then do a maters. But I ended up finding a job that I didn't even know excited previously (activities coordinator in a care home) and I love it so so much that now I just want to focus on this and my writing rather than doing a masters. My point is that no matter how much we stress about our futures we never know what is around the corner. I think focusing on what type of career (more broadly) you want to have is enough for now. For example I knew I wanted a job that was creative and worked with a community so I literally typed in creative into indeed and that's how I found my job. I know it's easier to say all this in heinsight but I still sometimes get those fears about my future as although I love my job I also want different careers throughout my life, but I just keep having to remind myself that I've made it this far without knowing so I will be okay in the end x
Don't worry about the audio, we could hear you, it's all that matter. Well you still have time to find what you want to do after graduation, based on the field you are studying, I'm sure your intuition will guide to your path in life. But don't be afraid, I know lot of people that loved what they were doing and changed after 10 or more years into something totally different (even returned to Uni) so everything is possible

My advice is to think what you definitely DO NOT want to do and why and this helps to inform what you do enjoy. xx
The door/panel for your closet should have kind of a clip that it would latch into on the top and bottom of each side so the door can slide on the rails (Two clips on the bottom and the top for each door), it isn't in place that is why you have to lift the door. Happens to me all the time just be careful when clipping it back into place.
If it's the day before is it motivation or is it mounting panic?! Love your last-minute packing videos though, they're an essential part of this channel! :)
This was so helpful Jade! Love your deep chats, helps me gain a new perspective on things :)) i'm moving to Sydney for uni in a couple weeks after staying with my parents during lockdown so this video was great! I've been watching your vids since 2018 and they always brighten my day!! Also i'm thinking of doing a semester abroad - do you think London is a good choice?
When you started talking about that book I was like it would be so cool if Jade started a book channel because I would totally watch your videos and read the books you recommend.
Currently struggling with my master thesis, but I trully think it should something that interest you in the current moment, but not something you think you might want to do as a profession in the future. Also, I love the fact that you're struggling with your future career/profession, meanwhile you're already a successful youtuber. This is not me devalidating your struggles, this is hopefully me letting you know you have already achieved something so great career wise, that you shouldn't dismiss, because it's perhaps not a typical career route, or not as obvious. You are doing great and already have achieved so much, you can be proud of that and also acknowledge it as steps into your career tragectory.
at the beginning of this video you were talking about "if you've followed for awhile..." and I realized I've followed since THE GAP YEAR?????? THAT'S SUCH A LONG TIME!!!!! we've both grown so much since then, i love being a part of this corner of the internet :)
Lovely vlog! I discovered recently that Premiere Pro has a 'denoise' effect that you can dump onto your clip and tweak the intensity in effects controls to find the balance (compromise) between denoised and 'sounds too unnatural'. I didn't have too much success with it yet but I wonder if your software has an equivalent? For next time disaster strikes!! Great vlog anyway. x (I expect you'll comment back now and say 'this is the denoised version!' 😂 in which case I'll just leave quietly. As you were!
Very proud of you Jade!!! You are such an independent woman in your 20s traveling around the world! 💛 In your yesterday’s video I think your yellow jumper merch you wore, I have got the same one 💛🥰 Btw, may I suggest something it’s up to you in your interests! I realise in your room you don’t have like a plush toy a teddy, or a character in Disney who your favourite character is or a sunflower pillow plush. An idea put on your bed cause I have got my teddies on my bed love my plushes. That’s all 🥰
I love your hair so much! What travel bag do you usually use? have you tried a duffle bag? I recommend Nomad Lane's bento bag. It is such a quality bag!
Your videos always made my day , thank you so muuch Jaade 💜. i have mu last exam for this semester tomorrow ( maths/ computer science degree ) and I'm so stressed, and tired wish me good luck!!! 💜
The future is never a line to a definitive point, most people will change careers 5 times in their lifetime (at least in the US). Think of just the first step which should just be working with or adjacent to something you are personally interested in. See where it goes....the more you work the more you'll discover what you like and are good at.

I wouldn’t recommend working in a cafe in Australia just at the moment. Omicron is out of control here at the moment 😏
Chaotic or not there’s something so wholesome and just lovely about Jade’s personality - love your video! :))
isnt it!!! I love her a lot she is lovely and I love her deep talks, sincere talks, normal vlogs etc. her personality amazes me everytime

As you were!
me, also chaotically packing for university 🤝 this video and this energy

Btw, may I suggest something it’s up to you in your interests! I realise in your room you don’t have like a plush toy a teddy, or a character in Disney who your favourite character is or a sunflower pillow plush. An idea put on your bed cause I have got my teddies on my bed love my plushes. That’s all 🥰

The future is never a line to a definitive point, most people will change careers 5 times in their lifetime (at least in the US). Think of just the first step which should just be working with or adjacent to something you are personally interested in. See where it goes....the more you work the more you'll discover what you like and are good at.
