- Eeeek I hope this essential backpackers packing list for my 1 month solo interrailing trip helps you! I only took a 40L Osprey rucksack (which worked perfectly!) and a 15L daysack, so I tried to pack as minimally as possible. Being a minimalist backpacker - or at least, attempting to be - is so much fun! Let me know if you have any Qs regarding anything in this video! Lots of love x
Alsoooo, go watch ma interrailing vlogs! I don't think I've ever worked so hard on some videos ever! 🙈☺️ x

P.S i love you. so much. thank you for finding me and for being here and for gifting me your time. you are so loved.
I like that you shared what you packed AFTER your trip because you could then say whether it was even useful to pack or not used at all.
im the 1000th like xD
Agree 👍🏼😃
OMG jade is on a roll with these vids! Good job jade!
I'M HUSTLING FOR YOU GUYS 😉✨ xx
@@UnJadedJade ❤❤
You're ON IT with the uploads Jade - I'm loving it!! Thanks for such a long and detailed video xx
Hey, do you go to SMAGS?? xx
Idk why but normally I get bored watching these kinda videos but you just make everything a bijillion times better! You’re so good that I didn’t use a real word to describe how good you are! ❤️🌈😊
Oh girl. I'm getting ready to interrail Europe for 6 months to a year + IN THE WINTER and I have nothing more than one, 35L backpack. I did a test pack today and my anxiety levels rose through the roof. Realized I'm gonna have to sacrifice some things that I'd consider essentials, including the sweater I bought to be my one "cute" item. It's just not practical enough. The 3XL hoodie stays though..Hahah!!
how was it?
I’m literally so unwell right now but as soon as you uploaded I clicked on this video as fast I could! Your videos always make me smile 🤗🙈❤️ thank you so much Jade xx hope your having a lovely day xx
I love that you’ve gained an emotional attachment to your rucksacks😂😂
Tip for PORTABLE BATTERIES (2019): I recently traveled to Southeast Asia (China, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc.) and got found out that lithium batteries are a security hazard in airports there. Security either took my battery away, or made me put in in my Check In luggage. Would reccomend researching/ reading your power pack's details to see if it's lithium before buying/travelling with it!)
Thank you so much Jade! I'm about to go solo travelling and you mentioned a lot of helpful items I'd never even thought about
My tip - pay a bit extra and get a first class inter rail ticket. It gets you into first class lounges (except in Germany).
One of the people who inspired me to start RUclips...💗 Love you so much Jade💗xx
I'm litrally tHriVInG cause Jade's on a roll with these videos
genuinely THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 🙈 all those hours editing is so validated with comments like this! ☺️ x
@@UnJadedJade Just woke up to you replying to my comment🙈 ugh you just made my day😊❤
you have no idea how useful this video was for me!! thank you immensely
I loved your inter-railing Vlogs! It’s something I would love to do but I wouldn’t have the courage to go on my own!! I can tell you put so much effort into your videos x
''It was sectioned into the portion sizes. " Love it
I'm looking at getting this exact backpack for my next international trip! It's nice to see it in "real life" to get a better idea of how much it will hold. :)
Amber Abroad could you please tell me what brand this bag is? Thanks
Yes!!! I've been waiting for this 💛
This is great. I'm going solo travelling first time next month, around the UK. Staying with family friends in between and family but in between I'm going to other places as well.
You’re living my fucking dream!!
I’m from Germany and on exchange year in the US now and I’ll come back by the end of June. I’ll have two and a half months of free time before school will start again in mid September.
I’ve almost decided to Interrail Europe because the summer before I left, I was constantly Flixbusing around Europe, just with the exception that I came home inbetween.
It’s been my dream for a while to do this and so now that I am 18 and I have enough money, nothing can hold me back anymore!!
I have absolute loved watching your travelling vlogs. So inspirational that you went travelling for month by yourself! Me and my boyfriend are going inter-railing for just over 2 months. I was wondering where exactly your two rucksakes are from as they seem perfect for me, I’m a small human so don’t wanna get one tooo big. And where did you get your packing cubes from :) xxxx
I just packed one backpack with 2x clothes, charges, passport, toothbrush and extra shoes 😂😂 It's been working out really well
Hi Jade
As I'm trying to reduce my plastic use I am really interested in a menstrual cup. But I'm a bit unsure. Please excuse me if you think this is inappropriate but could you maybe do a video and sahee ypur tips with it? Like a "plastic free" video where you comment on a lot off things such as the menstrual cup, stainless steel bottles and so on?
also!! could you please do a video summarising the costs of your trip and the rough total! thankyouuu
Please can you do a video specifically about being vegan abroard? I struggle so much trying to find something vegan that isn't just a salad and it often causes a lot of stress when on holiday with the fam :/ thanksss x
I won one from the DiscoverEU competition as well and I'm going railing next week!
FLYMB same I’m super nervous!😂
yesss!! been loving these videos, sad it’s over :(( xxx
This would have definitely helped me for my 10 days DofE adventurous journey
Could you do a video where you talk about hostels specifically? And have the names of your recommendations for good hostels
It would be so so useful if you could provide links for where to buy these items!! I’m going interrailing around Europe next month and I’m stuck with where to find things I need that are also good value!!
Absolutely love these videos they are so handy as I definitely plan on inter railing once I'm finished school!
Thanks for sharing your travel journey!
I have this pack coming in the mail - i'm so excited to try it out!
Yes! This video is liteeally Travel solo vibe😆
I loe your travel video's and I hope when everything is back to normal you will go travel again
I’m am a over-packer for sure. Where did you get the portable charger please?
I didn't quite get if she was vegan or not. Not sure if she mentiont it in the video?
I’m loving all of your Volgs!
hi Jade, I found this really interesting and I related to a lot of it since I went backpacking many years ago (before laptops and mobile phones!). Did I miss it or did you actually take any knickers? I heard you mention bralettes and socks. It's really possible to manage on very little if you have layers and washing powder. Well done on a very useful video. The Osprey pack looks great and I love packing cubes for when I am travelling.
Thank you Jade, such a helpful video!! Where's the black thermal jacket from?
Where did you get your jolli jumper from? It looks so cozy
This is really random, but I love your hair! Did you get highlights or something, or is that all natural! Also I watched every single one of you travel videos and loved them! Great job editing!
Carrie Walker yeah I think in this video it looks a lot like her mums hair ,so beautiful :)
Awhh thank you so much! ☺️ No highlights, no! Thank you for all your support on the travel vlogs too! Not sure I've ever been so proud of some videos 🙈 lots of love x
It amazes me how you lived with so little amount of clothes for a month. Did you do laundry every 3 days? 😅
Your videos are so fun to watch. 🙈❤️ your amazing and thank you for always inspiring me 👌 hope your having a lovely day! Btw I love your jumper, the colour really suits you 🙌🏼🙈
Awhh THANK YOU NAZMA! 🙈☺️ x
Which packing cubes are those jade
how heavy was all your luggage? i really want to go backpacking and interrailing but i have issues with my back so always wondering how people do this...
Unfortunately I'm not sure!! If anything, the hip strap definitely helps distribute the weight of the rucksack so it's more bearable. 💛 I wouldn't let weight be a barrier if you can help it (and you can definitely pack less than I did, or get a better suited rucksack!) and I really do hope you get to experience travel like this too! Lots of love x
@@UnJadedJade thank you for your reply, I'll do my best to find a way! Thanks for sharing all your travel experiences with us! Lots of love from Kleve, Germany :) (which is so close to the Dutch border/Nijmegen and every time I see or hear something Dutch, I instantly think of you :D xx
May you do a video on DofE?
super helpful, thank you!
Why did you have a rucksack as your main bag, and not a case on wheels? Would a case on wheels have been harder to carry around?
Omg thanks this was so helpfull!!!!
hi i was wondering if you could give the link to buy the 40L rucksack? xxx
See that slash proof and anti theft bag what company makes it? I’ll need one for interrailing to carry my camera for during the day
I have a question about this, how did you use the hostel plugs to charge everything and nobody rob you? I that Europeans are more polite or something?
I don't know about Europe but I have travelled for 3 months around Australia and NZ and every day/most days I would have my phone, power pack and go pro plugged in and never had an issue. If I was worried, I would leave my power pack charging as I went about my day (it was probably the least valuable) and then charge my phone and my go pro off that!
thanK.

LORD! link the friggin rucksack please!!
The small one is from Pacsafe (Metrosafe LS 350) I suppose!
Very useful video 👍and i like the idea of bum bag jade😂
Such a good video
if a train isn’t reservable, do you need to book or do anything other than have you interrail pass with the train written down on it? like can you just hop on the train without any other kind of booking? kind of confused but going interrailing for a month next summer x
Did you book your hostel in big advance ? Because i am going in 4 days and we only took rbnb because of the hostels for young full complete
Where did u buy the travel charger ??
Where is your portable charger from?
Where did you get the harem pants?
where is the anti theft back pack from ?
i feel like going solo travelling now;D
Love this thanks. Also been a vegan for 1 1/2 years ish and thought vit b12 wasn't vegan. Is this a myth????
There are many different vegan b12 supplements to take. If you are vegan i *highly* recommend to take a b12 supplement because you'd risk nerve (and brain) damage!! So for ones own health i would always recommend supplementing and also doing your own research on the topic;)♡
What’s the brand of your daysack ?
Can you give me some info on what you did for train tickets? Is there like a deal or something?
I’m 18 and really want to do what you have done! ❤️
Im pretty sure she got hers from Discover EU. if you google it you will find when and if you can apply for it. :)
Soap leaves? Where? How? Need! 😂
I should be studying right know, Idk why am I watching this... You are so cute, addictively cute!
It's insane that youre 18. I'm 21 and can't imagine doing this with other people, let alone alone. I wouldn't know what I'm doing. How do you have the balls and the motivation? And can you do a video on everything you should know about/before you go solo travelling?
I went on my first backpacking trip with a friend when we were around your age and it was such a blast. I went again alone for 5 weeks when I was 24. I highly recommend it, maybe start with something small like a weekend getaway somewhere close
I'm 31 and can't imagine doing it with my friends or husband let alone by myself 😂 xx
@@crazyliv I feel like it would be so lonely how do you meet people?
@@drewkavi6327 you stay in hostels because they are full of other solo travelers. In many of the cities I would hang out with other girls from my room, we would go sight seeing together or go out dancing at night together. I mostly slept in female only dorms but also a few co-ed ones. Most guys were also lovely and friendly and would join our group so it feels even safer going out partying late at night, we'd all make sure to come home together. PS most hostels are super clean, modern and safe so don't worry ( i know i was in the beginning, like a lot! but quickly you learn it's all fine)
@@crazyliv in the dorms is there an expectation to make friends and talk to eachother or can you just kind of chill and keep to yourself? i’m hoping to travel but i’m quite socially anxious and worried about the social aspect of hostels & there being a lot of pressure to socialise
If anyone wants to know where her travel diary is from it’s £7 from Paperchase :)
molly tasmin thankyou x
Got it for my birthday and it was the loveliest thing! 🦋 x
Hey Jade! Great video, thank you for going so in-depth! This sounds like a dumb idea, but could you maybe do a video rundown on how hosteling works? I've done it in a group for a few days, but feel like going solo would be much more of a challenge and I don't know how well I would be taking care of myself for an extended period of time. Like if cooking/washing clothes/storing luggage is available in every hostel, or what you do if not, things like that. Basically a Hosteling 101 I guess haha, I don't know, I'd just find it really useful!
may or may not be rewatching all the vlogs tonight 🤫
Same
THIS MEANS THE WORLD TO ME thank you!! ☺️ I'm so glad you liked them so much x
This video was suggested to me like 30 minutes ago and now my brother gave a flyer about Interrail tips to me. I don't believe in destiny but I guess I got a new idea how I could spend the time after I finish school this spring. This is simply too weird to be a coincidence
I wonder if you really went on a trip ;))
Very useful video!
But I was wondering, How do you travel in the cities?
For example, if you get off in a station far away from your Hostel.
Can you jump on any buss/train and just show your interrail pass? Or do you have to fill in those as well?
Thanks in advance! :)
Damn. That's some skillful packing Jade. 😂😂 Feel like I'd end up taking 2 suitcases. 😭
Hey Jade, I have a fear of earplugs because I naturally don't wake up till late morning, so what kind of alarm did you use to wake yourself up on those 5 am/6 am mornings? How did you hear your alarm, but not noisy hostile people?
Proximity and vibration are key. By putting it on your mattress close to your head you hear it a lot louder than the others do and you can feel the vibrations too, which help.
@@squareplayn I know that this comment is 1 year+ late, nevertheless, NEVER sleep with your phone on the bed, especially if it's plugged for charging. Both the adapter and phone might "explode" and who wants to do the spoon with a possible explosive phone? Not me at least
@@klarabergqvist8054 Fair point, thanks for the wake up call (pun intended, but thanks is honest too)
Personally, I am fine with taking that risk for the occasional few nights in dorms where I need to wake up early, but for doing it every day perhaps I'm going to reconsider. (I sleep with it next to my head every day at home too to track my sleep at home. I deliberately do have an extra slow charger to avoid it heating up at all but still... Considering a smartwatch rn, much smaller battery and even better tracking)
I wear industrial earplugs and i choose a higher pitch tone alarm and i set alarms 5 mins apart, if you have it on a wooden side table the vibrate setting makes a racket so no worries .. also set a reminder.. if you are travelling with someone both set alarms to have a back up, in addition if it is for something very important you could get a friend or relation to call you to wake you up x

This was so helpful for when I go for a month to France in April (gap yah girls together)! You're an icon, and I'm so glad you're uploading so often, I've missed you! xx
you've made me really want to go inter-railing now! i've always been a bit afraid to because i've always been a bit anxious in foreign countries but you make it seem super manageable.
Yayyy!! I promise that the thought of it is much scarier than just going for it! ;) 💛 xxx
Loved this video! Can you please do a video on your menstrual cup? How old you were when you started using it, your mums opinion, how you decided which one to buy etc. Xx
Can anyone recommend any similar rucksacks? I think olsen may have stopped that one xx
Nice! 👌 Versatility is the number one thing for minimalist travel. After some trips I managed to put everything in a 35 liter backpack (no extra bag). This is for trips of 3 weeks and longer. Everything under that I take an even smaller one. The freedom of it is the best. 😊 And i find it fun to get to know what you actually need and what I can leave at home.
Sounds great!! Do you happen to have a bit of advice for me? Doesn't have to be in-depth, anything's appreciated :)
@@kassandra8973 For sure! This comment is from 3 years ago, and because of the big C I didn't travel as much during that time, but these tips are my faves: 😃1. Roll everything and put it into packing cubes. Folding takes too much space. Look for videos on how to do it (ranger roll) 2. Versatile shoes. I like flip flops which double as shower shoes, for example, and hiking sandals which double as shoes for wearing when swimming on rocky shores 3. Bring a big microfiber towel. Dries quickly and needs little space 4. Shampoo/soap bars. They are small and are the equivalent of a few bottles of shampoo. 5. Learn to need less stuff. 😉
Hope this helps a bit! There are many videos on youtube about stuff like this as well, which you can adapt to your needs and destination. Happy travels!
@@juliam2222 thank you so much!! Didn't think you'd reply haha, i'll definitely remember these tips :))

This is so exciting, eeek! 👏 I genuinely had no idea what to expect pre-interrailing, so I'm glad that I've been able to help you in some way! I hope you have the best time and meet some very cool people x
14:24 gave me flashbacks to this cover teacher my high school had who always wore them and we kept annoying him about it untill he unzipped them for us 😂😂😂
Did you say you received the interrail pass through the DiscoverEU competition?? I'm looking to submit my application this year and noticed that you've travelled to more than 4 countries which was the limit for the free pass... this is a really specific question but how were you able to travel to more than 4 countries? Thanks xx
You get a choice of two passes. One where you can travel within two countries and the other where travel is unlimited within a set amount of days. I may be wrong though
Does anyone know when to apply? Because I really did my research already but just couldn't find a website with information or anything :/
Eve look up 'Discover EU' and it should be the first website that comes up, applications open tomorrow (29th)
@@JaneB2000 Can I ask you what kind of question they ask in order to give you the pass? Are they easy? Do they require a lot of specific knowledge? I am also thinking of applying and thats why I ask. 😊
@@emilymanta960 you have to answer questions linked to the EU and European culture, apparently its not that hard!

This was a super useful video! I've been to Europe once before, and I took WAY too much stuff with me that I didn't end up using. I'm planning on going back at the end of this year, and I want to try and be more efficient and effective with my packing this time, so that I won't have to lug around a bunch of crap that I don't need.
I have never seen you before but I liked your enthusiasm and big smile it definitely pulled me into the video. I'm thinking of road tripping through Europe this year after I finish my study. It was nice seeing your video making me realize packing is something you really have to think about.
So much stuff! When I traveled half a year, I had just one 55l Backpack. And in this I had things like a tent, sleeping bag and my cooking equipment :D
So you can go much lighter, if you like.
U got me through exams. Nowadays i'm just watching your videos as I wait for my igcse results. Yeah , i wrote in October and November.
wow this was so in depth!
I wish I'd had something this specific before i went! ❤️ xxx
So nice to be able to watch this the last part of my trainjourney home across the Netherlands! I really like to see what other people pack for their travels and think it will be really useful for when I go travelling again! Will you also make a packing video before you go to Australia?
Hey:) I was wondering, where can I buy the 15L daysack?
Hi, I think she has a pacsafe day bag but I'm not 100% sure
I think that every young person should do this. My daughter went with a friend on an inter rail trip for 2 weeks through Europe. They had an amazing time.
I would advice not taking a sleeping bag with you when you go to Australia if you're planning on using it only for hostels as most hostels in Australia don't allow you to use sleeping bags due to risk of bed bugs being spread. From my experience of traveling from Melbourne up to Cairns hostels seem to be pretty strict about this rule. Even if you plan on camping while there it is much easier to buy a cheap sleeping bag from somewhere like Aussie Disposals and then sell it through a Backpacking group on Facebook when you're done .
Jade! You didn't blur our your card properly !!!! You need to blur our the whole screen to prevent people from stealing what's written on it !!!
