Corona really be destroying my hopes of travelling
I am going next Monday! Just following all travel advice and avoid busy places :)
@@1270lyn sadly that's quite difficult if you want to travel by train
@@lucam9806 yeah, now it is... but when I went back in September it was still kind of possible. Lots of coutries were code orange, but still some yellows, so that is where we went. I had an awesome month, despite Corona :)
@@1270lyn Sounds great! I'm waiting for all this covid stuff to end so I can finally go on an interrail trip. Until then, planning where I want to go and watching RUclips videos is all I can do :)
@@lucam9806 believe me, its worth the wait. Plus planning is like half the fun ;) lets just hope it all ends soon so we can discover new places again :)
I want to go interrailing next year after a levels so this is the best possible video for me!! Thank you 😘😘
do it!!!! get organised as early as poss to save the stress though :)
So useful!! All the things you normally hear once you've already left and wish someone had told you beforehand! Absolutely A1, and you're so watchable too, you seem so sweet and lovely!
Dangerously close to 30k subscribers you say? Haha!! 971k and going strong! Congrats and well deserved. Such a good informative video this!!
Been waiting for this video!!! Will be great use for me next summer as me and my friend are hoping to go interrailing.
waheeeeey do it!!! honestly the most fun you'll ever have!!!
One annoying thing about the InterRail rules is that there's no allowance for day trains arriving after midnight. There is the 19:00 rule for overnight trains, but nothing for day trains. This is different from national tickets which often are valid into the small hours (e.g. UK ones, including national/regional rovers and rangers, are valid until 04:29).
When I’m old enough, not broke and I find some friends... deffo gonna consider it xxxxxx
(ALSO YOU’RE LIKE 156 AWAY FROM 30K NOW WHAT🤯🤯🤯)
Sky Simpson omg same let's go together
mars curie omg okay ahahahaha
wow did you guys just become best friends???????
Jack Edwards POTENTIALLY ??? AHAHA
You honestly don't need friends to do it like it sounds lonely but honestly you can just fucking go on your own and it's just as good
Haha I had no idea for what can I do during this summer :D
Merci beaucoup ça fait plaisir ☺️ !!!
this is SUCH a good idea for summer holidays because it's a month-long trip so doesn't take up too much time, but you get to see so many incredible places all in one go!
came straight to your channel after seeing you on jade's channel, I absolutely love your content + your attitude towards life is so refreshing!! Lotsa love x
So so helpful!! thank you very much. starting to plan now... finding it hard to understand which trains are valid with the interrail pass and how you know what company it is on rail planner?? x
Thank you! Just what I needed, the lockers advice is going to be super helpful
Very very helpful, gave me more ideas and ways to make things easier planning my trip. Thank you!
Best video ever honestly so helpful I know I’m late haha but thanks!! Interrailing sounds beyond exciting
A quick question. Does the travel days count as full days where you can travel on as many trains as you want or does it mean one journey on a train a day?
Btw. Great video🎉
it means you can take as many trains as you want
Super helpful, thanks!
Great video!
Can’t wait to do this one day
Thanks a lot for such a great video! I wanted to ask you about taking a bike with. Is it allowed or you need to pay extra ? :)
Hello. I know you like puns so I have a video suggestion. Ryan Higa has unleashed the pun challenge and I thought that you would be perfect at it (I sound like a salesman don't I😐). Anyway I haven't seen this video yet but I've seen all of Off the Rails so I better get watching.😀
such a useful and detailed video thank you!
Thanks for the great video. How many litres would you recommend for the rucksack, and what brands to go for if I want a long lasting rucksack
omg this was so helpful, thank u!! just one question, do you have to reserve seats on all trains or is it just the night ones?
This was so useful, but I was just wondering how long you went for and how many travel days you had? 😄
10 travel days! and i believe it was 23 days
Hi, how long did you go for?! Would you say you could wing it for some hostels and not pack everything in advance?
so so so helpfull! thank u!
Probs such a weird question to ask but do you buy your train tickets before you go or do you just use your pass when your there and just decide there and then what train you are getting?
Jack who is your favourite youtuber!!!!
Helpful video!!!
Thank you so much man!
How many days did you took for you pass interrail please ? How does it work?
let's go on vacation to Indonesia, there are many tourist attractions in each region.
each region has a culture and tradition that is different from other regions from different regional languages and foods that are unique to the region.
On vacation to Indonesia, don't forget to eat Indonesian food, but remember to be careful, Indonesian food tastes spicy.
holidays to Indonesia exist;
Nusa Dua and Nusa Penida in Bali
Borobudur temple in Central Java
Prambanan temple in Jogja
Thousand Islands and Angel Island in Jakarta
the peak of bogor with views of the tea garden and the Indonesian safari park in bogor, west java, close to jakarta
Riau-Kepri and Batam are close to Singapore and have the same culture as Singapore and Malaysia, namely Malay culture and traditions.
Raja Ampat in Papua
the island of komodo live ancient animals that still exist, namely the large lizard Nama'y komodo,
Lombok, Gili Trawangan, Lake Kelimutu, Mount Rinjani in NTT
Tangkuban Parahu Mountain, White Crater and Saung Angklung, a musical instrument made of bamboo in Bandung
Ijen Crater and Mount Bromo in East Java
Sianok canyon in West Sumatra
tana toraja in South Sulawesi
Lake Toba and Bunaken Marine Park in North Sulawesi
Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi
and there is another that is
Derawan Island, Maratua Island, Karimunjawa, Weh Island, Sumba, Jomblang Cave....
.
HI Jack, where in Amsterdam do you stay?
0:43 - 0:45 when you eat food that tastes amazing.
Okey, I am just a bit disappointed that you missed Poland :((
very useful
What Kind of Interrail Ticket did u use?
how long was your trip? :)
when you really want to inter rail but your going to be broke
You’re so cute jack x
💙
This is an introverts nightmare
i’m trying to think of train puns but i just keep getting side tracked...

Yiv hit the buffers eh

i guess I'm quite randomly asking but does anyone know a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
@Dax Omari i use Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
@Braylen Wyatt Definitely, been watching on FlixZone for since april myself :)
Overnight trains also cut the cost of hostels for the night ;)
But where do you shower? Or put your bags when exploring?
In the lockers
@@hoyeshibg1370 u don't lol
Hoyeshi BG baby wipes. Any beach showers / public showers after maybe in a hotel / hostel.
I went interrailing last summer at the end of my A levels too! i went to paris, marseille, florence, rome, venice, budapest and vienna! if i had gone for longer or if i were to do it again i would love to go to amsterdam, berlin, munich etc... i loved interrailing so much, I'm a very anxious person but doing this really helped me chill out. Even though we hit a few walls we always made it in the end!!! i only went with one person and next time i will definitely go with a group but it's such a great way to travel and see some amazing places :) loved hostels, the sights, the food, the trains. all of it was amazing and looking back i will remember it forever!! also wish i had this video before i went its soooo helpful!!! xx
Hey, I'm thinking of interrailing and the end of year 13 and have some questions! How did you find travelling as a woman - did you feel safe in hostels? And how did make money to go interrailing?
hey girl, what type of interrail pass did you get? Xx
Do you have any tips for inter railing whilst being an anxious person? 😊
Hi emily, did you stop and spent few days in any of the countries you visited? Just curious cos i dont know how interrail works..or did you just spend the whole journey riding the train non-stop!!! I prefer spending at least 2 days in each country before jumping on another train to another destination!!!
I've interrailed 8 times now. I'm a very anxious person too and I do find it stressful at times because as you say you inevitably hit a few walls but in the end it makes you more confident, more organised, more broad minded etc
Thanks for recommending Interrail Planner, Jack!
My pleasure!!! You were SUCH a life saver when planning my trip - thank you so much!
If I can make a suggestion based on my personal experiences of traveling in Europe, don’t eat or shop around the touristy areas. Those are usually higher in price and are less authentic. When I was in Italy, I went down so many side streets in Bologna, Rome, and Florence and paid significantly cheaper for food and the food was much more authentic. Plus the small bars found down side streets are sometimes much more fun. I went to one in Rome (reply to this comment if you want to know which one) in Trieste and it was such an amazing experience. It was incredibly cheap. The drinks were amazing. The bartender was friendly. The patrons were accepting and just chill. I went there twice in 1 night. 1 time before a group dinner (I was on a week long study abroad trip with my history department) and me and like 4 other students went back for round 2 later that evening before hitting the clubs.
Also, check where the taxi drivers eat at. That is always the best value.
I went interrailing back in 1983, and I agree with so much of what you said. The best thing to do is manage with as small a rucksack as you can possibly get away with. If you can jog with it on your back then you're well ahead.
Lay out everything that you need on a bed, and then throw half of it away. I managed with little more than just 3 T-shirts, jeans, a sweat-shirt, swim trunks, and probably no more than 3 pairs of underpants and socks (it's a long time ago, I forget, but somebody on the trip once advised that you can get away by turning them back to front, and inside out, and then you get 4 days out of them - I didn't try this!). The rest of it was a cotton sleeping-bag liner, water purification tablets (for Morocco - water wasn't safe then in North Africa, and even in Seville in 1983 the water was cut off for half of the day for some reason), an empty water bottle, a book, a phrase-book/language dictionary or two, and little more (when you've read the book, you swapped it with another interrailer). If you can get your bag to under 10Kg, you're onto a winner.
Like you, I learned so much about myself, and life, in little more than a month, and picked up communication skills in Spanish and Portuguese that I can still remember to this day. I could still get by in both countries for years afterwards and later decided to learn both languages a bit more thoroughly in my 40s.
I love the fact that you can now have an online planner. Yes, back in my day, you took a folding map which gave you some idea of the layout of the lines in Europe and just relied on the fact that stations would have timetables and that you would meet somebody who had come from the other direction who could give advice - we just hoped for the best and it usually worked out.
The unique thing one has at the age of 17 to 25 is TIME - you will never have as much free time as you do at that age. Just make the most of it before careers take over.
It's interesting that you managed with £1000. Back in 1983, the cost of the interrail card was £115 (yes, I know!), and I managed to spend a month travelling on little more than £200 which kinda equates to £1000 today.
I wish any young people luck with interrailing and I despise the older people of my generation who voted for Brexit that will reduce your chances to travel
Love
Brexit has Zero effect on Inter rail !! Also , budget airlines are selling
record number of flights at moment. Incessant Remainer whining is one of best reasons to
get away from.Britain !
I literally filmed a vid on how to plan a gap year that's being uploaded right now! 😂 I really, really want to go Interrailing - maybe this winter ;)
ooooohhhhhh i'm excited to watch! definitely do it!!!
this comes perfectly on time :D I am going on interrail this summer ^^
waheeeey have the most incredible time, i'm so so so jealous!
I’m going interrailing this summer after my a-levels so this was super helpful! xox
ahhhhh literally did this exact thing last year - HAVE AN AMAZING TIME
My friends and I are saving up at the moment so we can travel from the Seattle to Europe for our first interrailing trip this summer, AFTER BEING INSPIRED BY YOUR INTERRAIL SERIES!!
Young Jack 950,000 subscribers and a university degree ago.
Me and a bunch of friends are going interrailing this summer and we still have a lot to organize but this was really helpful! Thank uou so much🙌👏
ahhhh i'm so jealous! have the most AMAZING time!
"I had all of my passports and train tickets in one bag" - so you could lose them all at once??
Haha
I’m going interrailing alone this summer and honestly can’t wait!
alone? 😅
Yeah hahahaha
K Jessica have the best time ever!!!
Jack Edwards thank you!
yana celtar oh ok, yeah I have both, my insta is @kieramitch_
I went interrailling this summer🙌 We went to Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Andorra (it is not in EU), Barcelona, Marseille, Cassis.
Does anybody have any questions?😊
im going from London to Amsterdam to Brussels to Paris,,then take a flight to Mardrid do u think i need a pass for those 3 or buy them individually
♡♡ I study medicine in Budapest and I'm planning on doing an interrail with some friends this summer! This video was so so helpful and I remember subscribing after watching your first interrail vlog hahah
ahhhhh that's insane - thank you! definitely do it, you're in such a good location to start in Budapest!
Thanks for your tip to use interrailplanner.com! I've been trying to plan my train by looking up every train trip manually. So, definitely a relief to use the planner. One question though: how long did you go on a trip? I plan to buy the unlimited 1-month-ticket and so far, my trip seems A LOT longer than yours. Am I planning to much or did you have a short trip?
IM SO GLAD YOU MADE THIS! I cannot WAIT to go interrailing, mostly due to your vlogs haha, Thank you so so much!!!!! - also loving the patriotic bedding hahaha - xxx
waheeeey have the best time ever - i hope this video helps! (the bedding is a pun on my name because it's a union JACK lmao i'm so lame)
Milla Hamm French how was it? Any tips?
This is such a helpful video! I've been dreaming about going interrailling for a few years now, and now that it's my gap year, I some how decided to make other plans... I'm hoping to go in a summervacation sometime when I'm in uni and then I will definitely come back to this video!
last year i visited ljubljana and lake bled it was honestly such an amazing experience, so beautiful!! im sad that you only had 24 hrs in vienna it's one of my favourite cities, so many hidden cute cafes and museums!! once again amazing video jack 💗 (ALSO YOU'RE SO CLOSE TO 30K WHAAT)
omg slovenia is literally the most beautiful country ever - so so so underrated!
agreed, i don't regret going! It's definitely a must visit!
This was so useful! I'm a bit put off by all the planning though, I prefer to be adaptive and go with the flow! To do an interrail trip would it be possible to have a rough idea of countries you want to go to and maybe how long for but change as you go? Basically do you need to plan it or can you just go for it and see where you end up lol
This is so useful thank you! Currently just starting to plan a Interail trip for next summer! xx
HELP! You all who already have gone, how many liters on a backpack is recomended for a month trip? 65 or 55l?
.
I KNOW THIS VIDEO IS OLD BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS VIDEO. I'VE BEEN INSPIRED TO INTERRAIL NOW WITH MY FRIENDS!!
gio hollis ahhh thank you so much!
big up Jack Edwards with the brilliant adviceee
waheeeeeey!!
Really useful tips Jack! Gotta go InterRailing before uni next summer for sure. Awesome video as always!! 😊
yessss - perfect time to go because it's such good prep for uni being away from home and being self-sufficient!
I DIED WHEN I SAW UR NOTIFICATION & OMG UR SO CLOSE TO 30k!! Congratulations!! ❤️❤️
this was really useful! What struck me though is that you went to Cesky Krumlov... it is a two hour drive away from my home in Austria and I have visited it a few months ago as a school trip. We did not know anything about the town prior to the arrival and were pretty let down... it is pretty but it is so fake and there were only tourists from Asia. I find it really interesting that this town was on your route through Europe since I would've never visited it on my own even though it is not that far away
Did you book hostels / airbnb's in advance of the trip? Or on the way, great video!!
yessss just to be safe as the hostels in Europe are very very popular and were often fully booked!
Jack’s channel is where you find the best puns 😂👌 Would love to do this in a couple of years it looks so good 👍
waheeeeey buzzing with that reputation 😂
Nice to hear that you have visited Slovenia! It's such a beautiful country, but at the same time not so full of tourists like Paris or London. Also thanks for the video :)
soo useful!! I'm also going to Ljubljana, Budapest, Prague and Berlin this July and can't wait. Did you have to book all of your trains in advance as well as having your interrail pass? Currently trying to decide if it's worth getting the pass or if i should book the individual tickets
I’m 25 and thinking of going on my first solo trip, i was meant to go to New York in the summer but corona had other plans (and when it comes to it I don’t think I would of gone as I have a slight fear of flying) would you recommend inter rail for a first time solo traveller
Now this is probably going to sound like a really daft question.... when interailing and going from one country to the next do you ever have to go through customs or anything? I'm sure you have to fill in a passenger locator form in some countries but who do we give these to?
Omg, Lake Bled looks amazing, I need to visit Slovenia this year, such a green and beautiful country!
I used all of your tips while I did an interrail trip this summer! :D I made also a quick video on my channel on how I experienced that trip ;) Thumbs up, Jack! :)
Gabiche ah, amazing! Can’t wait to give it a watch :)
I would love to do it the summer before university! Do you think is better alone or with some close friend?
DEFINITELY with close friends as you need people to laugh with when everything goes horribly wrong
I'm planning on going interrailing when I graduate in 2 years, so I'll definetely check out this video again, cause you were brilliant!
Thank you for making this video!! I’m going to Berlin, Vienna and Prague and this was really helpful :)
omg have the best time E V E R. Prague is one of my favourite places in the whole entire world
Jack Edwards thank you so much! I’m very excited and will definitely be rewatching your off the rails videos for some ideas of things to do :) I love photography so I’m hoping to get some nice pictures too😄
So you used the "Global Pass for 10 days in 2 months"?
Your puns are so bad... Yet, I love them. Do you understand my dilemma?
This is the dilemma I face every day
I love travelling!! It’s so amazing how how we can see so much of the world, and inter railing is an amazing way to do that, do you have any more big travel plans coming up or not ?!
omg 100000% - you get to see so many places in such a short time! i'm travelling South-East Asia this summer :)
Jack Edwards Cool! Do you know what country’s specifically?!
I thought it was so kind of you to laminate copies for your friends and parents, I’m sure they really appreciated that!! Also, in this video you celebrated almost 30k followers and now you’re at 1.3 million!! CONGRATS!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Missed it in the video, how long were you away for?
Dearest Jack,
thancc.
Yours, Finch
You're quite the intellectual finch.
so about how much was the full thing with food and everything per person
Such a good video, Jack!
I just have one question - did you have to pay some extra money on those sleeping trains - for the bed or reservation or something like that?
Also congrats to 30,000, keep that great work,I like your videos!
This makes me want to save money and travel around Europe! Superb!
Paris- rome- venice- zurich- zagreb- instanbul? Sounds good?
Zurich second is more logical, so you go from west to east.
Always happy to see one of your uploads 😃
always happy to see a lovely comment like this (thank u!!!) ❤️
I SHIT YOU NOT... my train reservation out of Paris to Zurich was £170... fml. Might call that an interfail
Is it suitable to go to with a 7 years old?
My route. London to Amsterdam
Flix night bus to Paris
Paris to Strasbourg day trip to small town in Germany
Strasbourg to colmar
Then to bern Switzerland
Switzerland to Geneva
Then to kandersteg
From there to Zermatt
Then to Milan then Venice
Then sleeper train to Vienna then Bratislava for the day
Then Budapest and flew back to Luton
Such a useful video thanks for this!! I hope I get the chance to go interrailing next year, it looks absolutely amazing!
if you get the opportunity, DEFINITELY take it - you won't regret it!
You are literally my fave person 🙈
right i think i love you
This was incredibly useful!! My sister and I have only really started looking into and planning our interrailing trip and this answered so many questions we didn't even know we had 😂 so thank you!
Very usual video and gave lots of good recommendations which I hadn't thought of. Defo gonna make a spreadsheet.
Thank you that was really helpful. Ill do it next year and im soooooo damn excited 😍
If it isn’t asking for to much, could you please figure out a way to share that excel sheet with us?? It would be such an advance in planning my trip!
