- We are a expats and a typical black American family living and teaching abroad in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. In this video we visit our friends who live in San Pedro Sula's barrio Rivera Hernandez..
In this vlog our family visits our friend Sairy and her family. Sairy's family is from Honduras and Garifuna. They invited us to their home in Rivera Hernandez to show us how to make a traditional Honduran and Garifuna dish called Sopa de Mariscos (the literal translation is seafood soup). We enjoyed the day getting to know each other while our kids played and we enjoyed conversation. Also, making the dish was a ton of work and worth the time! It was so delicious! In our best Shin Fujiyama impression "ayy, que rico!" Jajaja We are so grateful for our time with them.

The GREATEST! And we have invited them and a few others over. Just sometimes we like to put the video down and enjoy the moment. It's so hard sometimes because I want to share with you all lol
that had to be good the baby drank the juice in the bowl. great video
It was delicious!
I visit San Pedro Sula about three times per year, do you live in that neighborhood? That is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in that city. I'm new to this channel, have you shown videos of Rio de Piedras and the other neighborhoods closer to City Mall?
Thanks for watching! We do not live in that neighborhood but have friends who do. I would suggest only going somewhere you feel comfortable and safe. We have a lot of videos coming out in the future but they will be coming out little by little becuse it takes a while to edit the footage we have. Thanks for the suggestion and also for watching our videos ♥️ ♥️ Sadly, we were told when we are the mall a couldn’t film 😞 However, that was galerías so maybe City Mall will be different.
Why in the world would you move your family to Honduras. I love Honduras and visit family and will be either moving to Colombia or Honduras in the next couple of years, but I am single and will have a pension and will live like a King in those countries. But, I would never move to any of those countries with a family.
That’s a great question! We left the states because of the racial discrimination that we felt on a daily basis towards ourselves and our children, our dollar going nowhere, and the “hustle” lifestyle where we would just work, work, work…We choose Honduras because Hondurans are some of the most friendly, loving people. They could care less about our skin color and we aren’t discriminated against. Also, I get to work an international school and see all the beautiful things the country has to offer. It’s funny that you say that because we almost moved to Burcarmanga, Colombia and last minute chose San Pedro Sula. I would 100% say the states was a much more dangerous for US, and realize every country has their challenges. I wouldn’t trade my decision for the world 💙
How did you learn to speak Spanish so well??.
I studied Spanish in college and also lived in Buenos Aires for about 6 months. I traveled all around Latin America too.
@@MinervesOnTheMove well, I have traveled to SPS about 30 times, how come I can’t speak Spanish??
