I was in the audience here 🤟 Benji & Patrick are really down to earth guys, it was nice having a beer together 😃
I must say, that i'am very disappointed by Benny lack of waving hello's lately
Love the IRL podcasts, gives great dynamic
This has been the best IRL podcast yet. I think it’s better when you guys both face the same camera
My favorite is how often when Benji is trolling, Patrick wants nothing to do with it and just keeps going 😂😂😂
Really guys, posting at 10:25pm. Perfectly messing up my sleep schedule
I just got home from work, perfect timing!
Not in Canada, it is 5:30 PM.
In Prague, it was ok :-).
Pogi just won from 80k out. He should attack on turchino. Its only 150k out and his teamates can sit in the wheel of the chase
With group 2 dynamics who knows….
Get a dropper post on his bike too and it's a sure thing
More realistic than Moscon winning 😂
Rock landslide on the Aurelia state street between Noli and Finale, organizers may be forced to add Le Manie, a 4.5 Ks 7% climb roughly 100 Ks from the finish
Tomorrow the local authorities will decide I think, today they sent some geologists/soil experts to check the quality of the rock face, and it's been said they're going to place netting.
That extra climb would mean a long Pog solo is back in the script...
Flanders has got the most abrasive grit in the world. Rode the event last year in the rain and a brand new set of brake pads were down to the metal by the end of the event. And yes, the flat sections of pave are more painful to ride than the climbs.
You two are so great together. Suffering on the bike together probably helps too.
How tf I am supposed to sleep when last thing I see before switching off is this? You guys are cruel 😆🤣
Good luck finishing that puzzle (if you haven't already)
Bettiol looking good
Bettiol won Milano-Torino yesterday ahead of the UAE boys, with Jan Christen in second looking really good
You guys need to get paid by the tourist board there 😂 🙌 Loved it, great vibes. Bonus for Aussies, SBS has full coverage🎉
MvdP might not have shown his form on the road this year but he dominated in cyclocross. The Poggio punch and then the descent hairpins is basically a cyclocross effort. If Pog wants to beat him he needs to turn the race into something else. He should for sure try attacking on in Cipressa and if that doesn't work attack on the Capo's too.
I heard this winter on Belgium tv, I think, that a cyclocross is 300 sprints at half your max power in one hour... Ouf.
@@lamaininvisibleso about 300× 9w/kg for mvdp
I would go with a different metric @@Lion-wd1px 300 X maximum output in watt (2000 w ?) ÷ 2 . I find it easier to grasp. ;-)
@@lamaininvisible idk mvdps max output is around 1400 or 18-20w/kg
Listened to the pod but I could feel the positivity. Now on a YT rewatch. GREAT casual shutout to your accommodation providers who happens to provide an ...extraction of shame... service for rider-guests.
Lmao LR combing two expressions into the cursed phrase “throw shit against the fan and see what happens”
T-shirt when???
I’m really glad I watched this video. I didn’t realize Benji had such beautiful hair. This good lighting really shows the gorgeous color and curl.
This podcast was so much more lively the usual. Not sure if it was the crowd or you being in person. Love it! Great energy!
Another problem with Ganna; that descend after the Poggio, he really sucks at that, it's 2x because of him that the winner got a lot of extra time on the descend!
The boyz were puzzling
Australians are basically so rich they can just move and live anywhere in Europe
Lamperti as long shot…he has real good 5min power
May have been mentioned already.. Cipressa is the climb portal ride you can do on Zwift this month ... even on 50% difficulty you won't match Pog or MVDP
I hope you guys finish the jigsaw puzzle there before you leave.
Loving the set. Big cycling fan vibe in that room.
Fair point regarding MVDP, but you can’t dismiss what Tadej did at Strade and just look at last year’s race.
Nobody has seen anything like that in modern cycling… Tadej is on another level right now.
The odds are as they should be.
Those two neck and neck.
His attack on Santa Marie definitely was on another level. Everything after that was parcours and racing dynamics. Yes, it was a fantastic solo effort, but everyone knew he would be taking time relatively easily when he was visually out of sight. Relatively, because he won't be able to do the same on an MSR parcours with probably more cooperative teams behind him. If he manages to win with a solo from Cipressa, I'll come back to this comment to apologies profusely hahaha.
@@smeetsnoud1I don’t see how the Cipressa is an option. You have 3/4 full close to sprint lead outs following into the Poggio. Peak Ganna on a tt bike could not hold them off. Pogi might get a gap and everyone gives up like in strade which I would find frustrating but in reality it should be impossible
Epic job on the join cycling ad guys, always a bit weary with RUclips ad stuff but very much considering this one
Benji 'Viable' Naesen
Alpecin very strong with Laurance and SKA as domestiques
SKA has struggled with a knee injury. Not clear if he will be ready for MSR
I tuned in just to see if Patrick and Benji would stand up next to each other again
Mads Pedersen as the suprise defeating MVDP and Pogacar I called it.
Mid day post for me love yall ❤
Primavera!!!!
❤
Neilands is very good pick and he´s mine too. He was good in this race even before he was an overall competitive rider (like he was last year in Tour and this year in Strade). He had 2 good early Poggio attack´s one when Nibali won. So I can realy see him wining.
Great show guys
MVDP is the GOAT😎
Ah, my little eye spies the Kwaremont beer 🙂Enjoy!
Andiamoooo !!!
I use add blocker but let me buy you a ko-fi. Enjoy your cobble rides.
Pog will have to avoid going together with MvdP to the finish line. If he goes full, only MvdP can follow, meaning they will sprint for it. Either start poggio very early to take away his punch, and go solo breaking him and everyone else, or don't do the final pull, go over the top with 4,5 or 6 guys and make the move with 3k to go. Only thing is, other wil want to do the same. If it's going to be a sprint of a small group, Pedersen has the best chance. MvdP will want to repeat last year or shake until it's him and Poga, then he will win the sprint a deux.
Maybe this year, Pog may announce in the pre-race media interaction where he is going to attack like he did at Strade. And then actually do it.
dont think with MVDP there
Patrick a bit drunk there at the end 🤣🤣🤣
Everyone is speaking of attacks on Poggio or Cipressa, but why not using Capi Bertha, it is the steeper climb? Is it because of the longer flat part between Bertha and Cipressa?
Pog Will attack ... not in Cipressa , but in Passo del Turchino
greatest msr ever if he did
That puzzle: Venice, yes?
Bookermakers adjust their odds (or rather, have an algorithm do it for them). As soon as someone bets just $1 on Pogi, his odds is lowered. If a few people bet on him, it will quite quickly (depending on how much action they take at each odds) look like they are "even favorites". There's never really anyone going out saying "hey, I believe these two are equal faves, they must have the same odds" anymore, and I doubt it's been like that for the past six or eight years for cycling. For other more mainstream sports, it's been like that for ages.
Pogi has called his shot, attacking on the poggio #Ruth
MVG for the win!
Ok, Benji you need to move to Andorra!
How do I get one of those Lithos in the back ground?
LR looks lean AF
👍 👍 👍
what are those thumps up thingies can someone explain, i’ve been seeing them the last few podcasts
MacOS gestures
thanks
Omg you are in the same
Room
Are you guys going to be sponsored by maurten any time soon? Loved that deal that you had last year
Yes!
Ashhhfaulttt
I don't see a way for Pogi to win. Everyone will look at him and he can't drop van der Poel of his wheel.
I like Van Giils or Pedersen way more. Especially if there might be a hard Cipressa, there might be possibilities. But yeah, fells like there is just one big favorite - alpecin. Mathieu or Phillipsen, if it comes together.
No point Sprinters going at this point. It’s not a sprinters race anymore, shame
Should the puncheurs not be trying their best to drop them on the climbs?
It can still be a sprint. Not so much if one guy goes clear but if a small group is together after the Poggio they could easily start messing around and let a bigger bunch catch up.
Aramburu has a broken clavicle, guys 😅 Of course he isn't going!
McNaulty is out!
You guys are missing a key aspect that will change the dynamics of this race: it's the fact that WvA is not going to be present! When Pogi attacks at the Cipressa and at the Poggio a number of times, all eyes will only be on van der Poel (forget Pedersen). Mathieu can't sit back and say "Hey Wout, you want to win, too, go after him". Pogi will grind van der Poel down and win either solo or in a sprint of 2-4 guys.
MVDP LFG
Alaphilippe redemption arc
Pidders
Mvdp 5 min power
Most raucous Belgian audience.
Ulissi and Hirschi horrible teammates for Pogacar. Him deserves much better 😢!
I didn't watch the whole race.
Guys love your podcast but lately you're labelling too many riders shit or wasted. I know you guys know they're also very talented and work hard but using that term so losely doesn't feel right as a listener.
If Pidcock makes to the Poggio in the lead group, then he'll clean up on the descent. If Ganna goes for it and drags Piddy up with him, then it might happen.
Personally, I'd love to see a sprinter win, Kooij or Milan - one of the new generation.
This is my thought at as well! Pidcock and Ganna makes for a dangerous combo.
Pidcock is better on the fast descents. This is a slower twisty/tight descent. Don't think his skills are much of an advantage on others, only his kick out of corners but he's not the only one with a good kick there.
At this point I just want to see someone other than UAE or Visma win world tour races. I wouldn't be surprised if a mechanic on their teams rocked up and podiums.
