If you want to try out something fun, then try using these Firesweep builds with the Heavy Blade sacred seal with a 4-turn special. Getting 2 hits will charge these up fully and you can use them to nuke a really tough enemy instead of going with a 3-turn special like Luna. Interestingly, I think it can work really well on the AoE specials because firesweep weapons gets rid of one of their major weaknesses, mainly Vantage. Not to mention you can spread damage to multiple enemies without them being able to retaliate, which can knock them out of skill activation ranges. Just be careful of Wings of Mercy.
I'm running a +Atk/-Res Soleil with Galeforce, LnD, Chill Spd and the Heavy Blade seal. Paired her up with Nowi who has Infantry Pulse. She almost always procs Galeforce after her first with that 60+ Atk. It's so much fun, 10/10 would recommend.
2-Turn specials may be better, because, with 3 or 4 turn special you lose charges.

It could be PERFECT if we had like a 5-6 cooldown special for Heavy Blade Users. And Firesweep users don't use to have great Def/Res, so... I don't see it "Optimal"

The Sacred Spear +Spd Ryoma with that godly 42 speed. Problem is that givin Hit and Run gives up Bushido.
Brendan Mason I actually left him with Bushido and he still has glimmer and I just use his C slot to reposition him out

If the firesweep axe and dagger gets added hopefully its not going to be a seasonal weapon as seen with the wo dao axe (Giant spoon) and Wo dao dagger (Lethal carrot)

We recently got Kaze as a Slaying Dagger instead of being locked to Ny!Takumi. I personally have good hopes that they will be added on free or summonable .

Might I suggest a video about alternative A skills? Seems like almost every meta set out there says to use Fury, Steady/Warding Breath, or Distant Counter, and it'd be helpful to know what else works well for when you're low on Hinatas or the like.

I just made a team with the two dancing fliers, the double goad flier camilla, and the firesweep bow hinoka. It's absolutely hilarious
I actually gave Clair a firesweep build before she got Rhomphaia. Despite her low attack, it worked out fine. Mine being +atk helped immensely. Of course your picks are far better lol.
As for sword fliers, I will say that thanks to seals, firesweep Palla _can_ work out. She's not better than your picks, but for some players, she's their only choice.
With +spd/-anything but atk ivs, she has 31/34 offenses. A maxed out spd seal gives her 31/37, which is perfectly serviceable imo. Then L&D3 as an A skill will help remedy her offenses further. With firesweep+ taken into account, she'll have a total of 51 atk and 42 spd. And of course, buffs will help even more.
In FEH, any unit can be made viable with enough investment. -...except odin-

Instead of L&D, with a little extra setup, you can use Brazen Atk/Spd for +7 to both - you just need an ally with Reciprocal Aid and the right amount of HP.

Firesweep Bow Brave Lyn is the one unit I can almost never deal with successfully.
Mulagir is tolerable, Brave Bow is unfun, and Firesweep... might as well die from the start.

Coming back to this video months later I think aversa is one of the best fliers to put on a team with your firesweep flier. Global debuffs work well with fire sweep making the field safer for your flier. Also aversa is just really good.

I remember the time when people said : "Firesweep axe will be perfect for raven when it gets added". Well now he has got an OP personal weapon. Maybe they will release firesweep axe in the next banner, that will have its trailer on the 6th.

6:10 now the fire sweep axe does exist, and there weren't a lot of axe fliers now there's more.
The ones with high ATK/SPD are:
Hel: 38/41
Jill: 39/40
Spring Fir: 35/41
Young Minerva: 36/37
(All of them have a unique weapon to keep in mind)
I really like the combo of Firesweep, Heavy Blade, Galeforce, and and ally's Infantry Pulse on Soleil. She can easily get the Heavy Blade effect, and she uses it fantastically.

Fire Sweep can be pretty intimidating to face in Arena.
Recently I pieced together an Arena Defense team with a Fire Sweep Cordelia with the Guidance Seal as one of its core units. While I've never faced a team like it, I imagine it nets its wins by Dragging players Back and Guidancing in the Brave and Bold H.Jakob to finish the job. WoM Olivia is just the cherry on top.
I wish I pulled the Bow Hinoka. Her Fire Sweep build+all her mobility abilities looks super fun to play. I could see her even making use of the "Seal X" line.
I go most of the time with a +atk when it comes to fliers, cause they can stack 14 extra spd with hone fliers and goads, so it's more important at least for me, proc mostly the Heavy Blade with Cordelia than hit two times cause one is harder than the other.
For fliers, I'll aim for Palla and Catria for a Firesweeper build. Luckily I think I have a decent IV for them both. I think I can try with Est since she's becomes discount Hinoka stat-wise since she's +SPD.
Most of my Firesweep users are Cavalry units which are namely Mathilda, Cain and Roderick. The first two were surprisingly decent users of it; goes into double that I have okay IV's for them too.
This is interesting. I definitely will try out, but I will wait for another hero to use this set😉. Which flyer unit that hasn't been in Heroes should get this? (ex:Sumia)
I'm running a different Firesweep Lance build on Cordelia, one that I think deserves a mention (although it's a bit heavy inheritance-wise, but I got lucky):
Firesweep L+/Reposition/Galeforce/Heavy Blade 3/Chill Spd 3 (Drag Back also works but I'm maximizing Arena score atm)/Fortify Fliers/Quickening Pulse seal
With that, Cordelia's (unboosted, unmerged) offense can be either 53/35 or 50/38. With Hone Fliers, she has 59/41 or 56/44, which is enough to double (thanks to Chill Spd) about anyone while activating Heavy Blade. With the QP seal, the CD starts at 4, which means that doubling and killing an enemy with fewer than 56 ATK grants an extra turn.
It's extremely efficient - although it's kind of restricted to Flier teams because buffs matter.

I managed to pull a +Atk -Spd Ryoma, any build advice?
I use a Cordelia with F-Sweep Lance + with Galeforce, Life and Death, and a heavy blade seal and she’s +spd. She also has Drag back and I use her with Axezura. She can kill 3 things in 1 turn, or sometimes she kills things she shouldn’t by chipping away:attack, sing, attack, then galeforce procs, then attack again.

There will be situations where drag back hinders movement. Personally my B slot is Flier formation because Flyzura is always with Cordelia. She could just move 4 spaces back and reposition If needed, or she could continue to attack enemies that are further up the lines in which drag back would not make her reach.

My Cordelia build is Firesweep/Repo/Galeforce/LnD/HnR/Goad Fliers/Heavy Blade
The concept is basically to have her paired with Flying Azura, so that she can get three turns every turn. So long as she doubles and HB activates, she can get Galeforce after being danced to result in her wiping three enemies off the field in one turn.
It's pretty devestating when the stars align for it. xD I'll admit the downside of it is any time she doesn't quite get kills due to no damage special, but she gets the kill nearly every time if the enemy isn't green so it's usually fine.
I know it is not a flier but I've been working on a +10 FireSweep built with my Lon'qu since I really love such unit in Awakening. Do you believe this would work on him despite not been able to have Guidance or an easy way out with Hit & Run?

RIP. my flying lobster is +Def/-Spd. Go figure. I guess he'll still be fine on a flier team, but my flier team is kind of a mess right now because I took Airzura off of it to put on my main team. I really wish there was a way for her to have Tactic skills while on one team, and Flier skills while on the other without having to change the loadout manually every single time...
Firesweep weapons make it so much easier to run flier formation, and they let you run chill skills, too. Getting the B slot back is so liberating.
I've been seeing a huge surge of Windsweep mages in arena this week. Sweep is becoming more and more meta, likely due to the increasing number of merged armors.
7:25 I say you, never can have enough Speed. My Ryoma currently has 48 Speed, and doubles alomst anyone. But lately i've often seen sword or tome Users, that have 42-46 Speed.
NY Azura would LOVE a firesweep axe because being a dancer means her BST is a bit lower and she tends to specialize with TA so her lower atk won't be an issue. Somebody else can take care of reds and greens. Her top priority is to stay alive and dance, dance, dance, and occasionally check some blue. Almost never does she want to bait. She has speed equal to Cordelia's. Firesweep is a go.
I have drawn 10+ Cordellia and Setsuna and I could never get a +SPD not-ATK IV. Never get to start on the Firesweep nor Bravebow project. However, I recently used Hana with the Firesweep Sword and it's just wonderful.
Unlike flier teams, Infantry Firesweepers have access to Infantry Pulse. They do not need QPseal/dancer to get Galeforce going. Turn 1 starts and they go rampage right out of the gate. For Gale-Sweeper build, I think infantry has an edge over flier.
Funny, I also built a fire sweep Hana, and it's just ridiculous how well it works
Why is there no Firesweep Axe???
I've been doing this build for a while and seem to work nicely for me but what is your opinion between my build vs the first Firesweep Lance build
Cordelia +spd -res but I run Moonbow or glimmer but for the SS I use heavy blade to make it a 1 round special.
Do I get more mileage just using luna or a 4 turn special?
I think Heavy Blade is really strong if you can fit it in on these builds. If you do get stopped from making a follow-up by something like Wary Fighter or a breaker skill, then you can at least charge a 2 turn special in 1 hit, retreat, and then hit that enemy again with Moonbow to hopefully finish the job. With a 4 turn special you are going to need an extra hit to charge your special, so not doubling that first time is really costly. A 2 turn special will be more consistent in those types of situations.

FS users have been a godsend as EP focused builds have gotten more and more annoying and punishing PP nukes. Being able to straight up deny the enemy from striking back is huge. Also one other set I have seen is running Heavy Blade as the A slot and QP seal for instant Galeforce after one fight but it does take buffs and good attack to reach it.
Nigrescence fliers can’t use flashing blade though
6:50 dagger doesn't exist (as of writing this comment) but bows do (as stated in the video) so bows fliers have two extra candidates (by his base stat for ATK/SPD)

Brave Claude: 36/40
Summer Takumi: 35/35
(Spring Loki is close but by his base stats set in the axe segment she misses both by 1 stat)
For colourless daggers here's some i found:
Eir: 32/37
Ninja Lyn: 38/42
Masquerade Ethlyn: 36/41
Hostile springs Camilla is also good but Ethlyn outclasses her severely

I think it can work since Ryoma starts off with so much speed. If you can you might want to pair him with someone who can buff up his speed to get past other fast units out there.

For whatever reason Fliers are restricted from using Flashing Blade. Same with cavalry units. It does make Clair and Caeda's weapons unique since both of their upgrades give them Flashing Blade and both of them have high Spd.
is palla viable with this kind of build?
Palla can try to use a Firesweep Sword, but her starting base speed is a little low. I would recommend a +Spd nature and she will need Atk buffs to catch up to the other red fliers. She isn't that bad considering there are only 5 red sword fliers. Just compared to someone like Cordelia who is also a 3-4 star flier and has 4 more Atk and Spd on Palla, I can't say she will perform to the same levels of expectation.

My cordelia is the core of my flier team. But that's also cuz most of the others have bad natures (despite the singers/dancers). Good video and I hope it drives people to try these builds and see how fun such a flying unit is!
Good review, bit tunnel visioned and overly-meta though, be nice if you mentioned suggested something a bit different or original to the usual. Something like close defence or Deflect melee - two sacred seals that also synergise really well with firesweep.
Imagine Fjorm with her usual shield pulse, but then, Eschutcheon, firesweep lance and deflect melee. Even the strongest greens wouldn’t kill her. Would be a fantastic set for defence teams and setting up wings of mercy users. Not hard to make either.
WombleWarlord But firesweeps are offensive style weapons. Your firesweep units shouldn't be taking any attacks to the face. They're like mages in that regard; offense is the best defense. The exceptions are mages with close counter, but there's no going firesweeps' inability to counter-attack at any range. That's why people build them like glass cannons. Seal slot is better used to buff offensive stats, not remedy the defensive stats they aren't even going to use.
In all my life I only got one Cordelia, and she's +spd -hp

I hate how Faye is a 5 star exclusive, even when she has no good SI. Who needs noontime? Only a handful of units can make use of it. Or bow experience? I just want more merges on best girl in Shadows of Valentia!

I have 7 Cords. Only one is +spd. But she’s -atk...
Roland Person flier buffs kinda negate that in the end. minus attack really only sucks on infantry units because they don’t have a dedicated buff.

Not many fast axe users out there tbh. Firesweep with Bold Fighter is a potentially frightening combo that doesn't get discussed though but I guess armor mobility hurts the viability of that

we really need a fire sweep axe then Anna can jump to being high tier with her speed, fire sweep axe, swap, Aether/Astra, Death blow 3+*, Wrath, and attack/speed tactic. a simple attack seal would be fine but im sure you could use a number of them to complete this depending on the team you use. just imagine the carnage.
