This is a really great video. I like the sprag clutch demonstration, roller engagement, and hub hornet should link to your video and sponsor you with a free kit. Because your video is way better than what they put out. Your vid actually explains to me the how and why so much better. Tyty
SolitudeCustoms i have rebuilt posi and limited slip diffs in the old hotrods that are so much simpler. I was afraid to tackle the job when i saw the blowup diagram of the thing. And the sprag instructions i got were absurd. Now i'm not worried. Thanks. Wife and i have ace 900's and we pound the snot out of them. Demand drive is the weak link.
Outstanding video.. Clearly can see everything very well explained good lighting to see small detail.. Thanks for video did mine was simple with this...
loved the video and thanks. but i never found the short video on how to test the electrical to see if it actuates before putting it back in the machine. Did you ever make the video?
I did a rebuild & the ring gear creates a lot of noise now when being turned by hand. What should I look for to eliminate this noise? Sounds similar to rocks rattling in a can.
Could somebody just replace the pinion bearing without removing the whole differential I hammer too hard on my roll pin and now hear noise in the front differential
There is something going on with your armature plate, it has to sit down into the cut outs. If you can, message me some pictures on Solitude Customs Facebook Group or on the main page.
Best video for this I could find. If you have trouble with the metal plate lining up then the cage is upside down.

zoedorarey Thank you very much for the words. Glad I could help you out, as this diff really is kind of tricky compared to just gears

awesome video, very descriptive. thanks!
Excellent video....... Thanks.
Great video
Thanks for sharing good video
Is this the same unit or at least very similar to the front diff in my 2011 800rzr?
Perfect explanation. Thanks
I need to talk to you man!!! I had an axle break and tear the wires off and out of the differential. How do I fix that??
What state are you in
Can I assume this is same or extremely similar for ranger 900??
Yes, its should be very similar if not the same.
Thanks!

The nylon nut problem was fixed in 2014 I believe.. Correct ?
did this diff die all together or was the 4wd just kicking out randomly and making noise?
What size bolt did you use for front drive shaft?
How can I tell it is being energized when I apply voltage?
It should lock in and spin the Axle Hubs when 12v is applied and then not spin when unhooked.
I know this is an older video, But did you ever figure out why the armature plate wouldn't work? I'm having the same problem.
Links at Columbia Super As far as it not fitting? I think they said it was for a 1000
Ok, Thank you
Is this the same for a 2016 Polaris sportsmen 450 ?
It should be very close if not the same
Thank you for reply that's cool to know how it works
Where are you located? If I send you my transmission what would you charge to rebuild it for me?
good job but I need torque spec for all bolt please
francois simard 7-11 ft.lbs
I dont wait too long.... thank you very much.... and your video help me a lot.... thanks
I had it close by.. not sure why there is a range but it's what's listed. Unless the 2 big ones are 11 ft.lbs and smaller is 7 ft.lbs
11-14 rzr right?
Could somebody just replace the pinion bearing without removing the whole differential I hammer too hard on my roll pin and now hear noise in the front differential
the covert with a 7 bolt rub on the differential gear when i torque it and the pinion does not turn what the problem, i tried everything

Would it be the same on a Kawasaki mule?
Honda 420 Dude No. Not at all, Polaris is specific. That would be closer to a Yamaha Id imagine
SolitudeCustoms okay because I need to rebuild mine and not sure what I need to buy for it to be rebuilt
Oil changes help..
How did you get the flat stock between the bearing and nylon spacer
Just kept stacking flat bar until it got more and more
Always replace armature also.
why fo the rzr diffs go out so much?
Keyton Davis Because they come factory with Plastic Internals and they need upgrading.
Good luck with those all balls bearings. They suck
Good video but every time I look at a Polaris front diff I just think its poorly design.
Stock sprauge is junk.....replace with niche brand....$78
