Thank you sir. I think i just broke mine last night. I'm assuming that is what my loud snap was it is my second one. My first one was plstic like yours and got covered under warranty. I was told a metal one of some kind was put back in it's place so I'm pretty surprised it broke since I was only climbing a creek bank. I was spinning pretty good but my front wheels never left the ground which is usually when they snap. Lol we'll see upon inspection wish me luck
If it was fixed under warranty at a dealer, I'd be pretty surprised if they put a metal one back in, unless Polaris has updated them by now. I know Polaris was getting like $280 for the plastic cage, but the old part number has been replaced and the new one is over $300, so maybe they did, who knows. Climbing a creek bank is what got mine as well, guess we need to watch out for those things! lol
2014 xp4 1000. The front 4-wheel drive stopped working, I took the 4x4 gear case out and took it apart...everything looks good. magnet tests at 25 ohms, if I energize the magnet on the bench the armature sticks. If I put it together on the bench and spin the pinion, then apply 12 volts to the magnet....the axles do not lock and start to spin. It seems like they should and that I still have a problem in the gear case. Should the axles lock and start to rotate on the bench if 12 volts are applied to the magnet?
Fantastic vid, very informative. I certainly learned a thing or two haha. The ohm readings are very strange! 🤔 Could it maybe also have something to do with the surface texture of the magnetic ring itself? Like maybe the texture itself gets worn smooth(er) and that's the reason for the loss of grip?
Adam Sandberg - for ride vids, I use a hero 5 mounted to the visor on my helmet. For the how-to... same camera but with their headstrap. That wouldn't work for riding tho, be shakey-cam city haha
My rzr made a pretty loud pop when my tires came off the ground then came back down as I was still giving it gas.. it still seems to work fine though for now I haven’t tore into the diff yet. is it okay to keep driving it even if the cage is maybe cracked?
Sorry for late reply, but not all pops out of that thing are something breaking. They can pop when taking a hit, but still be ok. Best way to find out is keep going, and see if it keeps pulling! They way they are contained in there, it's not gonna hurt anything to keep driving it.
Outstanding video- so clear and easy to understand
Thank you! Glad I was able to help!
Welcome back Jason! Ready for some ride vids man!! God Bless!
Moto Gordo - haha thanks so much, yeah things are calming down, got two rides to get edited and posted

Nick Bussell - Thanks, yeah it has the same diff as the XP 1000, along with a few other machines that share it
Awesome video Jason
Thanks Jason I think I’ll probably replace my before it blows 👍
Super late reply I know, just now getting back to the channel. Did you ever replace it?

@RZRsEdgeInMotion I don't think so. I had a new one and the old one...they both looked and felt the same.
@@Gebunkable well alrighty then haha
Long time no see Jason! !
Thanks! I've been keeping up, answering comments n such, just not much time to make vids. But I'm working on getting them going again now :)
Jason, what camera and mount do you guys use? My wife and I are trying to figure it out, and it seems your setup works the best. Thanks Adam

Great video.
Thank you, been a little while since I made one of these, felt a little rusty haha.
