Thanks for another excellent reaction. It's been a spectacular week with new Nightwish music and tons of reactions. I love seeing the pure joy in the reactors as they watch this masterpiece......Nightwish continues to impress.
Me too, it was very good first time around but after a couple of dozen listens, it's getting better all the time. I find this a lot with Nightwish. It's like listening to Classical (or rather Romantic period) music because there is so much happening that you can find little details every time that you never noticed before. That can be made easier with classical because you can study the score and see things to listen out for - and advantage we don't have with Nightwish.
Track #5 of upcoming album, Yesterwynde, this is a title Troy invented, its not a actual word.. Great song, great video!!! im hopeful for rest of album now after hearing this, the title of this song is so clever.. perfume of the timeless right, to, its a easy message to understand, i love it really!! Im sure there is heavier track on this album, as i heard there should be some pretty heavy tracks on it, so a good mix i supose, i thinking title track Yesterwynde is just a intro starting album, then it goes into a almost 10 min song, that is proberly a epic, then #3 is where i think it gets heavy, well lets see.. Toumas basicly told Nuclear blast we got a song 8 imn 30 secs we want as 1st single, Nuclear just said ok, NW got VERY free hands..
The great video hides how weak this song is. Bad vocal mix, Floor cannot be understood what she is singing in the symphonic pieces, her voice is suppressed far too much. Tuomas is very repetitive with his compositions. It seems to have been put together in what he has been making for years.
Disagreed. The mix is thunderous, it sounds epic how the orchestra, the choir and Floor become one in the chorus. And seriously, if you think this is bad songwriting, I am lost for words man. Nightwish, like every other band, has their signature style. Tuomas compositions only get more mature and a bit less „cheesy“ over time.
@@notmyfuggingtempo So tastes also differ, opinions differ. I think that the demise started at least two albums ago and this song does not show inspiration because it continues on with the old. And the mix? You can give all kinds of explanations for it, but it sounds terrible.

It is forward where intended but is back as part of the choir deliberately to blend it in. Musically it is complex and well-crafted. Overall it sounds like what it is - a progression from Human Nature.
The intro is a bit long for the length of the song. The chorus is mixed terribly. If this is how songs were mixed for Tarja’s voice (mentioned in another comment) I’m extra glad I found NW with Floor first.
