I attend the accademy of fine arts and I have some professors who would use the word cheating to describe the way this work is produced, because in their opinion you have not created anything of your own and therefore it would only be a copy from other parts. I don't know how the concept artist's world works so I can't say anything about whether it's wrong or not. Personally, I think the work you've done is wonderful in many ways, like the time saving spent on creating it and the general quality of the work's details. I'd like to know what you think about the cheating topic about these kinds of illustrations.
I’m also curious about this, But I would bring up the fact that concept art is often done for client work with deadlines. He talks about this in the video as well.
Thank you very much for appreciating my work! :) About the cheating part, fine arts and concept art are two different fields. Fine artists can create anything they want for the world to see. It's about their personal "expression" and can justify their artwork even if it might seem bizarre to the common man's eye. There are no limitations there! Concept artists can't create just anything. They are more like designers who are meant to solve creative problems for films or games. They work under strict constraints and guidelines and bring ideas to life. Their artwork is not the end product, but just a necessary cog in the system to get the things working! hi, i'm new to digital art world. I have a few questions about what he does to create all of that. Can I claim the rights of the work if I use images without copyright? Can I earn money from my concepts if I use royalty-free images in the concept? If imad awan read this: I love your videos
Man, Honestly, this has been one of the most greatest tutos and down-to-earth speech that clients don't give a damn about your effort but the final resort. I loved it. But man, tell me, How long did it take you to do al this since developing the idea, composition, lighting and shadowing? Thanks in advance man, a hug.
Hey imad, I love the perspective you bring to beginner art, really makes things easier for me. However, I've known about this technique for a while - what do you think about this for someone's who's starting to get into digital art? I don't think I will go into concept art, I just want to explore art as my passion. The way I see it, using photobashing is a lazy alternative that can kill your will to work on your pieces. That also leads to plagiarism in my opinion because I don't know if I will feel comfortable wanting credit on a work that is basically made up of other's photos just put together and masked and dodged and burned. I don't want to be offensive to anyone, and I understand how people need to cut some corners to work under deadlines, but what would you advise regarding this for a beginner getting into landscape art for their passion more than anything else?
@@CreativeGamingDorthea since I've learnt more about art, I've learnt it's more about expression. So long as you're not blatantly copying someone e else's idea, I think it's valid as art.

This video it's so informative and his technique on producing such a high quality result is upsolutely stunning. However..... I have one friendly advice to give to those who are generally interested in digital painting. You should really not only watch this video but also the other videos in his channel. This man is not just good with photoshop he actually have ALL the fundamentals you need to be a great artist whether paper and pencil or digitally. I notice that often beginners they look at videos similar to this one as the "easy way out" and they might feel that you can actually skip any knowledge or skill related to sketching and painting. But then you see the massive difference of artists like Imad and those starting out. When it comes to perspective, lighting, colour etc etc if you have no clue about those topics you will definitely struggle. Even if you know all the tricks of the trade on photoshop or whichever other photo manipulation program, even a single rock in a composition will look totally out of place. You need both... Train on the foundations but also be smart and know all the tricks of the trade on photoshop or whatever so when you have to speed up you can.
Dude this is some amazing content, thank you for sharing. As someone with probably intermediate photoshop knowledge I could follow all the basic stuff you were doing without need for explanation, and all the key elements you explained perfectly.
Once I buy my first pen display I will start my journey into digital/concept art. You can create such beautiful stuff and, even tho it can be kinda exhausting, I think it will be really fun to play with. Can't wait!
Love this technique. Thanks for sharing! Regarding the 3D assets. You don't have to rotate them before downloading them. Install Adobe Dimension on your computer and it will let you open those assets and manipulate them as need be.

hi, i'm new to digital art world.
I see it as cheating... honestly. This isn't "art", this it "being good at photoshop".
@@CreativeGamingDorthea since I've learnt more about art, I've learnt it's more about expression. So long as you're not blatantly copying someone e else's idea, I think it's valid as art.
@@zaks7 I can respect that.
Omg 😱, just how you did this this much easily 😱😱😱
Please take a teaching session on this , ppl will definitely join from all over the world.
men
wtf
This was the best photobashing and environmental painting tip I ever recieved! Thanks for that! - simply short and helpful
This video rekindled my love of Photoshop and fantasy environments. Thank you.
im coming into digital painting from UI/UX and graphics design so this is right up my alley!
Awesome! Welcome!
Hey! I came across this video in online school. Very educational. I learned some useful stuff. Thank you!
I find it amazing how you manage to reply to almost every comment man. Keep up the good content
awesome man! been painting digitally for nearly 15 years but never seen this Envato elements technique!! subscribing today!! thanks man
I'm looking for videos like this that show such techniques for a couple of years now. Most videos of photobashing were just simply speed ups.
I ordered a new pc, and its coming with photoshop and premiere, so now I can finally put your amazing videos to use. I'll learn from you to make concept art and better landscape paintings than I already have been
That's awesome!!! Best of luck! :)
Thank you
Really amazingly done! I have been drawing digitally for 6 years now and this is a must watch for anyone who wants to improve!
Thanks a lot friend!!
One doubt: when you create a mask to make textures, why the mask color isn't black? There's a way to change the mask color?
This is the only video from your channel i have seen, but wow, very very insightful, you explained things really well.
Thank you so much! Really means a lot!
@ImadAwan It's me who should thank you for your tutorials...

Dude this is some amazing content, thank you for sharing. As someone with probably intermediate photoshop knowledge I could follow all the basic stuff you were doing without need for explanation, and all the key elements you explained perfectly.
your brush preset is amazing!

The explanation makes it so much better.
Once I buy my first pen display I will start my journey into digital/concept art. You can create such beautiful stuff and, even tho it can be kinda exhausting, I think it will be really fun to play with. Can't wait!
just wow, it's something diffrent. You nailed it
Wow. It looks like I get to enhance my Photoshop skills once again!

Dude...this is a game changing technique. Thank you for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Love this technique. Thanks for sharing!
Regarding the 3D assets. You don't have to rotate them before downloading them. Install Adobe Dimension on your computer and it will let you open those assets and manipulate them as need be.
This is the only tutorial I've found so far that actually explains HOW a layer mask works with CLARITY. I no longer use Photoshop, I use Clip Studio Paint but I'm assuming layer masks work the same way across platforms? Either way, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Absolutely love your artwork :)
To make layer mask black, you can press Ctrl+I. This will inverse color and no need to speend time with paint bucket tool
Thank you for your content. It inspires me to keep pushing for art school.
Yes! You can do it my friend!
Just incredible. Opens up new creative windows for me!

dude you're a god, I subscribed because of that brush pack. I've made a lot of my own custom brushes but I know I was missing more. You definitely left no room for needing other brushes lol.
You are one talented teacher who teach us very good how digitals paintings works. Thanks you so much. Much thanks for you. One question Where Can we bring good brush for works.
Imad if you press the mask button by holding Alt, it makes the mask black instead of white... I love your brushes by the way they are insanely helpful, thank you very very much
Oh that's a handy tip! Thank you!!!
@@ImadAwan my pleasure mate! keep up the great content :D
