People were slagging this bike when it was first introduced by Honda, I guess that's not the case anymore is it? For the amount of technology this bike has I don't think there's anything else better for the money. Honda made this almost a dream come true 👍 well done Mark for the great review as usual.
Thanks for the review on the new CB750 Hornet Mark . As you said another quality piece of kit from Honds. I love the ultra clear TFT instrument dislay, so easy to read compared to the tiny screen Yamaha fitted to their MT09 and XSR900 models.Cant wait to take the new Hornet for a test ride when they are released in Australia. Cheers Glen
I finally took the decision to order this one. I have been driving for one year Honda CB125 R and one week ago I got my liscence as we say "open", no limit. The driving lessons I did on Honda CB 650 R so I hope I will cope with the bike.
@@Tondaloona03 "Thanks for making my point"? I think you must be deluded, I have not made your point. You have totally contradicted yourself. Hi Mark 👋, another great review 👍 and I like the accessories that crescent fitted to this bike. Sounds great and no doubt these will sell very well as that price is amazing 👏 😀.
Hi Mark ! This bike is awesome, very well priced and nice look. One more on my list of "possible" next bike lol. The yellow one with the SC exhaust is brillant ! Ride safe ! ;)
Having watched other reviews earlier this week there’s a lot of debate regarding the looks and styling (yellow on test) however in this particular color guise I think it looks excellent. Thanks Mark excellent review and I’m sure Honda have a winner.
Thanks for the great review - I bought my MT-07 after seeing your reviews of that + the Z650 (and a couple of test rides, obviously!), and I'm now switching to a Hornet as quick as Honda can get me one (not very quickly unfortunately, apparently they're selling as fast as they get the reservation lists!)
Nice review Mark, I love everything about the hornet. It’s kinda looks like the CB500F’s bigger brother. I must admit it sounds better the SC exhaust. Cannot argue about the price though. Awesome amount of bike for the value 👍🏻
Excellent stuff as always Mark, I was really interested in your thoughts on the engine, brakes etc as it's really the Transalp I'm interested in, at 6'1" and 18 stone I think I might be a bit too big for the Hornet!!😀 Only thing about the Transalp I don't like the sound of is the tubed wheels, hopefully they might do a version with 17/19 inch cast wheels at some point, that engine seems ideal to me for this category and the times we live in, lightweight bike with plenty of power and great fuel economy.
I've just put a deposit down on a black CB750 Hornet. I tend not to look too deeply at reviews and always test ride a bike and judge for myself. Now looking at your review, having not seen it before, I would agree with everything you said. I didn't opt for the end can as it was an additional £900!!!!!!. Like the two previous Honda's I've owned I imagine the speed will exaggerate by 10% so that 70mph at 4000 revs will probably be 63mph at 4000, which is still good.
Another excellent review Mark.I've been waiting for this bike to turn up at the dealers so that I can book a demo ride.I don't like the styling, but I can't deny that it's excellent value for money.I'm sure Honda will sell them by the boat load.
Thanks as always for the review, Mark. I took one for a test ride yesterday here in Sydney, about 50ks on familiar urban and country roads. It didn't do much for me. If i was coming off a smaller bike maybe but compared to my z900RS it felt cramped, rode harshly, and lacked power. I was debating whether to continue on the demo after about 5k but thought I'd see how it went on the open road. Wind protection was surprisingly good as you found. But having to rev it over 4,000 RPM for any urgency didn't suit my riding style. Not a bike i could live with.
Another great review Mark. When I can afford a second bike this will be on my list. I saw a yellow one at my local dealer it looked awful. I don't like the standard exhaust or front light but it's a lot of bike for the money.
Hi Mark, when i first seen the price on this i was like No way this is coming at this price point but it seems i am wrong, really premium looking bike and good rubber as well. Very impressed at the price point compared to the competators
Great review and riding habits! I watch a lot of riding fail type videos to train myself to spot hazards; but most of the times the greatest hazards are the riders speeding between cars in traffic, intersections and highways, taking twisties wide, etc. You’re one of the few reviewers who can talk and keep his hands on the handlebar at the same time.
Definitely a good contender when I upgrade to my full A license next year. I really like the looks of it, especially in this red/white trim. It would be even better if Honda made a CB750R Neo Cafe thing.
Brilliant as ever. Some quite tall people have reviewed the bike. I was waiting for yo to do it as your the same height as I am. It appears to be totally ideal? One question, which bike would you prefer, the CB650R (mine) or the new Hornet? I've never really cared what a bike is called but, my bike is more of a Hornet than the new bike is. I would guess that the only important thing is the relative performance.
Just ordered one today with sports pack. I can buy and fit the style pack if needed. Not even test rode it. Just looks so good and the price is very fair. Jul is the expected delivery date. Gutted.
Hey Mark, this is a really great review, thank you! I ordered my Hornet last week after test riding it. An absolutely amazing bike to ride, loved it! Now, the wait! 😅👍
Oh my oh my, I love this, the colour, the sound, I was almost there with you...tell you what, if ever I part with my tracer this will replace it 🤍 Mark what are you doing to me, I will be forever skint 🤣🤣🤣. Great review, I could tell you loved it 👏🍀 sunny side up 🌟
Great video mark, typical honda build quality as you said. Sounds great but I'm not sure about the styling. I much prefer the look of the original hornet IMHO.
I have a feeling that I could swap my MT09 - 2022 for a Hornet. I don't think that the Hornet would be far behind in "real world" everyday riding (commute & weekend ride) compared to the MT09. The screen is definitely better on the Hornet. Well done Honda!!
Another lovely review Mark. My current short-list consists of two Hondas. 2023 CL500 Scrambler (in Green) which comes out (came out in April 2023) and this Hornet. As others have said this Hornet (Sheikh the Hive, see what I did there?) is much like the CB500F with that very beaky looking beak. So much power without the roads to use it on here in the UK (legally). Is it better to ride a slow bike fast or a fast bike slowish. So the CL500 Scrambler (I know, totally different from this mid powered naked), which I look forward to your review, may do it for me. That being said, this engine/price combo in the Neo Sports Cafe look such of the CB650R may have persuaded me to go and order one immediately but you can't argue that this is an outstanding motorcycle. Keep them coming MP and Honda!
Been looking for a new bike over the last month Was looking at Triumph and Bmw but the are so expensive. I have probably walked past the 750 hornet in showrooms and never noticed it beside the fancy bikes. But looking at reviews its the stand out bike for me now.
Nice review & a heck of a lot of bike for the money but I just can't excited when looking at it. I know it's subjective but it just seems a bit bland & budget looking to me. Rightly or wrongly if I'm buying a bike I want it to look good too which is all part of the appeal. Presumably the main reason it's so cheap is Honda's use of existing CB style plastics which does it no favours as a new bike imo. They've should've made it more individualistic & edgy but for the price they'll still sell loads of them regardless.
Nice concept of a pretty relaxed parallel twin for commuting and fun too, but why can't bikes come with a proper pillion seat, or at least have one as an optional extra, my wife wouldn't sit on this, so it's useless to me..... Shame.
Nicely done review! Good fun watching youre ride with the helmet camera. 1st of April I will own this bike myself (no joke), the yellow one. Unfortunately the weather over here in Holland is absolutely shite.
Yes, car drivers will start ignoring a lit indicator. Drivers will get too busy/lazy to wait for it to flash and will become (subconsciously anyway) far too used to pulling out on a lit indicator. I mentioned this to TMF on his review of the bike and he quoted some research that showed common bright colours get ignored with common usage. Well done The Missenden Flyer for putting in the effort to dig out this research!
Mark, I have a CB650r. I use it everyday. It's been a good bike although it has had a minor ignition fault. If you had the choice.... what bike would you go for, CB650R or the Hornet.....?
Excellent review Mark as ever ,I like this one I like the price even the looks as I am not into the angular looks of today . I could well see myself testing one later this year as I am thinking of adding to my garage , and it is at the price of other twins you could buy used .good amount of horses which I will say isn't far off my current bike which has a bigger engine so like it . I understand the price is a little cheaper without the quick shifter "correct me if I am wrong'' never had one of those so would it be necessary I ask ? .👌👍
Hi the quick shifter isn't necessary....we've all done without them for years ...but it really adds to the motorcycle experience...very satisfying smacking up through the gears without using the clutch or closing the throttle Best wishes mark
Hi David... sensible head on now ...the 90 hp of the hornet is a bit much for a beginner I'd say although you might be getting it restricted The cb500f is still a fast bike and I'd say the better choice for a couple of years to hone your skills then move up Best wishes mark
Great review as usual. One of the few modern "standard" bikes I would consider purchasing, so naturally, it's not available in the states where I live. It's grasping at straws, but it's a little odd that Honda did not put an inner rear fender on the bike, so it's going to run "dirtier" because of that.
Unlike most, I actually love the look of this bike, opinions differ obviously, its just mine. But, here's the but, since watching your review and it was the very 1st of many I watched back in 2022, I've actually fallen in love with the Honda NC750 DCT, it just won't leave my head, it seems the perfect bike for me, when I'm finally able to be able to afford it, its definitely the bike I'll be getting, I've not even ridden or seen it in the flesh so to speak, but I will get one eventually as its on my bucket list. Cool review as always, happy Easter and see you on your next adventure ✌️ 🤙 🤟
Hi Richard the nc750 is one of the most versatile bikes you can get ...honda reliability, amazing torque and economy....its one of my favourite ones Best wishes mark
Always looking forward for your excellent tests . I'm going to reduce from my BMW R1200RT . Hard to choose from so many great bikes. The Hornet included . Cheers.👍
Hi Mark, great review yet again. I know, completely different category of bikes, but if you were to buy one would you go for the RE Super Meteor 650 or the Hornet? Cheers from Australia.
G'day Mark from Australia, the new 750cc CB from Honda looks and sounds fantastic, the CB range has always been a winner for Honda and l thinks this model will be no exception, only one problem with most modern bike's is not much room for the pillion passenger, mug wife is 5,10 and has trouble tucking legs up on those high rear pegs, great review as always, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
I really enjoyed the presentation! Good bike! The Brazilian public is hating this bike for not having that characteristic sound of the old model. What's your opinion bout this?!
Hi the old inline 4 sounds great but this has a 270 crank parallel twin with an aftermarket exhaust it will sound like a v twin Ducati:) Awesome sound but yes with the standard exhaust it is a little muted Best wishes mark
Looks to be a great all-rounder! Where's even the option of cruise control? For those of us who actually put miles on their bikes in all kinds of riding, it's hugely useful. The bones are there already; what gives?
Great review Mark, thanks. I have been a bit curious about the new Hornet and the new two cylinder engine. Hope I get a chance to try one myself soon and compare it to my '22 cb650r.
Seems a cracking bike for the money. Nic colour scheme. Honda build quality is not what it was. CB1000R doesn’t have very durable engine paint as it all came off AndyManCam’s bike. Older Hondas have excellent build quality. Rivals to this I am thinking Triumph Street Triple, KTM 790 Duke, Aprilia 660 Tuono. You should have far more subscribers. Your reviews are consistently good. ATB.
Test rode one of these last week. Seriously impressive bike for the money. I’d read a few reviews talking about the choppy throttle. Have to say I found the fueling excellent and really smooth, even in sport. I’d buy one now but I want to ride the gsx 8S first. Great review as always 👌.
This looks stunning for the money. Back in my day all 750s were 4 pots. I used to ride the Yamaha FZ750. It cost me 3 grand used back in 1988. It was a lot of money in them days. Zero rider aids, single disc brake. How I never totalled it I'll never know because I used to thrash the living daylights out of it.
Hello Mark, great video as always, everything is explained nice and simple.Question:Is it possible to get your hands on the new Transalp 750?I don't know if Honda will ship em your way...I would love to watch that as well. God bless you and health above all.
As a current Honda owner I find that styling “spectacularly average”. Bring on a retro CB750 with that engine and it could go far. They have made the Transalp pretty though so they can do it. 😊
All the cool trap music won't change the way she looks. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I assume. But hey what do I know, I ride a Kawa Z900! Lol!
Thank you for your awesome reviews. Next week I will be doing my final exams for an A license. Still thinking about this Hornet or CB650R. Which one is more comfortable, and which one did you like better? Thanks Mark!
Hi Dave it can be restricted to a2 if that's what you need ...it's not a big heavy bike ...but you might want to consider a cb500f as your first bike ...they are still plenty fast enough Best wishes mark
Nothing to complain about on this bike, other than that color and cheap brake pedal, reckon I'll be grabbing one here in the US if and when they get here...
They're not Pilot Road 5 tyres.... They're Michelin Road 5. Great tyre, though! Other half and me have them fitted on our bikes, and love them! (SV650S and VTR1000) :-)
it´s extremely easy to handle and playful moto... i have new Hornet three months, every day i discover new and new advantages of this bike

I mentioned this to TMF on his review of the bike and he quoted some research that showed common bright colours get ignored with common usage. Well done The Missenden Flyer for putting in the effort to dig out this research!
I'm picking my one up from that same dealer! Great review!
Brilliant...they told me they had eight coming in all pre sold ....yours must have been one
Best wishes mark
I think I found my bike! Now, if I were 25 years younger and rich, I'd have it made! Good video, Mark! Thanks!
Thanks Kevin 😊
My pleasure
Mark, I have a CB650r. I use it everyday. It's been a good bike although it has had a minor ignition fault. If you had the choice.... what bike would you go for, CB650R or the Hornet.....?
Hi the cb650 is a great bike but I prefer the punchy feel of the twin engine these days ...so hornet for me
😁👍 cheers mark
@@markpulling12 thanks mark, I will trade for Hornet
Great review yet again Mark 👍
Excellent review Mark as ever ,I like this one I like the price even the looks as I am not into the angular looks of today . I could well see myself testing one later this year as I am thinking of adding to my garage , and it is at the price of other twins you could buy used .good amount of horses which I will say isn't far off my current bike which has a bigger engine so like it . I understand the price is a little cheaper without the quick shifter "correct me if I am wrong'' never had one of those so would it be necessary I ask ? .👌👍
Hi the quick shifter isn't necessary....we've all done without them for years ...but it really adds to the motorcycle experience...very satisfying smacking up through the gears without using the clutch or closing the throttle
Best wishes mark
Great review, bike looks good. Looks like a decent commuter bike. I would like to see how it fairs after a UK winter though.
Excellent review as usual. My question: If money is no object - what would you recommend to a beginner more , CB500F or this new Hornet?
Hi David... sensible head on now ...the 90 hp of the hornet is a bit much for a beginner I'd say although you might be getting it restricted
The cb500f is still a fast bike and I'd say the better choice for a couple of years to hone your skills then move up
Best wishes mark
Great review Mark. Hope they do a center stand for this, who leaves it on a side stand?
Hi Mark, nice review, as always. I've got a test ride on that bike in a few weeks, looking forward to it.
Thanks Craig ...look forward to hearing your thoughts
Best wishes mark
@Mark Pulling Never got my test ride, Mark. I ended up getting myself a Harley Davidson XL1200T superlow.
@@BigJock0 ooh nice bike Craig :)
@Mark Pulling Cheers, Mark.
Great review as usual. One of the few modern "standard" bikes I would consider purchasing, so naturally, it's not available in the states where I live. It's grasping at straws, but it's a little odd that Honda did not put an inner rear fender on the bike, so it's going to run "dirtier" because of that.
Many thanks Chris 😀
Hi Richard the nc750 is one of the most versatile bikes you can get ...honda reliability, amazing torque and economy....its one of my favourite ones
Best wishes mark
Always looking forward for your excellent tests . I'm going to reduce from my BMW R1200RT . Hard to choose from so many great bikes. The Hornet included . Cheers.👍
Thanks Spenser ....yes the choice these days of amazing bikes is incredible cheers mark
Hi Mark, great review yet again. I know, completely different category of bikes, but if you were to buy one would you go for the RE Super Meteor 650 or the Hornet? Cheers from Australia.
Hornet for me ....I love the super meteor but cruisers aren't for me ..yet lol 😂
Thanks Neil for the comment as always...yes Honda are going to do very well with these :)
Best wishes mark
They teased a Nighthawk variant of this beauty - If Honda builds it, I'll buy it!!!
I really enjoyed the presentation! Good bike!
The Brazilian public is hating this bike for not having that characteristic sound of the old model. What's your opinion bout this?!
Hi the old inline 4 sounds great but this has a 270 crank parallel twin with an aftermarket exhaust it will sound like a v twin Ducati:)
Awesome sound but yes with the standard exhaust it is a little muted
Best wishes mark
I test the bike. The best in this category. And the price is super. You cant find beter in that price.
Looks to be a great all-rounder! Where's even the option of cruise control? For those of us who actually put miles on their bikes in all kinds of riding, it's hugely useful. The bones are there already; what gives?
Great review mate…enjoyed watching you ride on the motorway.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great review Mark, thanks. I have been a bit curious about the new Hornet and the new two cylinder engine. Hope I get a chance to try one myself soon and compare it to my '22 cb650r.
Many thanks...it's a great bike ...love the new engine best wishes mark
I like all your motorcycle reviews and road tests Mark, keep up the good work. Dave a biker in Devon.
Many thanks Dave ... greetings to lovely Devon :)
Thankyou for your reply Mark, ride safe best wishes, Dave from Devon.
It seems to be a great package. I think that I would really like it!
hope the fueling and gearbox are good.
Seems like this engine will flex very nicely into a super sport like R7. I won't be buying one, but will enjoy the reviews :)
Funny when you read comments 'nice little bike'.. Great 'middleweight' etc. In my early bike day memories the numbers '750' were like wow!!.
Me too Graham....I remember when 750 was considered big :)
ATB.
Thanks Alex ...yes it's amazing vfm ...Honda have done very well with this :)
Best wishes mark
@@Tondaloona03 I can judge it however I want. Get over yourself.
@@Tondaloona03 My errors? LoL. Since when was the internet a country? You're just another of the internet's trolls.
Test rode one of these last week. Seriously impressive bike for the money. I’d read a few reviews talking about the choppy throttle. Have to say I found the fueling excellent and really smooth, even in sport. I’d buy one now but I want to ride the gsx 8S first. Great review as always 👌.
Thanks Peter I should be riding the gsx8 in the next few weeks
Best wishes mark
@@markpulling12 Thanks Mark. Awesome! I shall look out for that!😎
How's the 8S for you? I reckon most people in the comment section would go for the Suzuki. What's your conclusion regarding both bikes?
This looks stunning for the money. Back in my day all 750s were 4 pots. I used to ride the Yamaha FZ750. It cost me 3 grand used back in 1988. It was a lot of money in them days. Zero rider aids, single disc brake. How I never totalled it I'll never know because I used to thrash the living daylights out of it.
I remember the fz750 very well....hayballs of Salisbury had some ... cheers mark
@@markpulling12 you should track one down and review it as part of your heritage series.
Another fine review thanks for your efforts always appreciated 😄
My pleasure!
Hello Mark, great video as always, everything is explained nice and simple.Question:Is it possible to get your hands on the new Transalp 750?I don't know if Honda will ship em your way...I would love to watch that as well.
God bless you and health above all.
Hi yes they are coming to the UK in the next few months....I will be reviewing one definitely
Best wishes mark
As a current Honda owner I find that styling “spectacularly average”. Bring on a retro CB750 with that engine and it could go far. They have made the Transalp pretty though so they can do it. 😊
Great review as always. Quick question, is the miles/gallon US or UK? makes a difference for those operating in km/l. Thanks
Hi I'm in the UK so it's mpg UK
Best wishes mark
Booked a test ride, just waiting now
A superb review as usual
Glad you liked it
All the cool trap music won't change the way she looks.
Hi I preferred the hornet ...I like parallel twin engines ....the hornet is amazing value for money and comfortable
Many thanks mark
Turn out to be a best seller !
Great review!
Hey Mark, great review and thanks for all the info.
Do you think this is a good first bike?
Hi Dave it can be restricted to a2 if that's what you need ...it's not a big heavy bike ...but you might want to consider a cb500f as your first bike ...they are still plenty fast enough
Best wishes mark
Nothing to complain about on this bike, other than that color and cheap brake pedal, reckon I'll be grabbing one here in the US if and when they get here...
They're not Pilot Road 5 tyres.... They're Michelin Road 5. Great tyre, though! Other half and me have them fitted on our bikes, and love them! (SV650S and VTR1000) :-)
