I had a Hornet out for a two hour demo ride on Monday and was very impressed, I was considering it as my new commuter but it's so much more than that, the best description I can give it is like an MT-07 that handles with a host of electronic goodies and a far superior finish, I thought I'd discovered a problem as it seemed a bit jerky in town traffic but discovered that the engine braking was set high, after dialling it down the fuelling was perfect, IMO the new budget middleweight king.

i've only been riding *seriously* for about 18 months, having covered 10k miles so would class myself as a beginner, however i'm shortly be going to buy one as i believe that it's all the bike i'm ever likely to need. I have lifelong biker friends who all seem to say that whatever you get it's all about how you use the right hand, and when i asked my instructor wether he thought something like this may be more than i could handle, & should i start smaller, he basically said that you have a full licence dont you?, so buy what you want, it's all down to your attitude. I'm 62 and no boy racer so hopefully i'll be fine, and won't be wondering 'what if'. cheers.

@@johnflavin1602 yes, sure did, got a new one registered 1st march and covered about 2,300 miles now, and well happy with it, it's so nimble, easy to ride in traffic, and when the opportunity arises the accelleration is phenomenal, all the torque is useable and low down where you want it. i've added quite a few accessories to make it suit myself & my riding, and long distances aint a problem, such as i did 498 miles in 2 days last week taking in the northumberland 250 on a mixture of roads and it was great. There's a few minor niggles i have, but no show stoppers, and If you have any questions please post them and i'll do my best to answer. GL

One of the reasons I enjoy your reviews is you raise points I haven't seen before. I always thought the handlebars/dash area looked odd but couldn't put my finger on what looked off. It looks barren and the bars too thin. Now that you said it it's all I can see.

Its interesting to see how far ai has come already. About the questions at the end of the video, im guessing because you asked "the new honda" it correlated that to "knowing" it is the newly released bike. At the moment it is also impossible for chatgpt to browse the internet, as it was trained with a closed data set. So that could be why it was such a general review, simply because the hornet is not in its database.

Great review, I totally agree that the most significant shortcoming is the styling - especially the headlamp. Honda could have adopted the CB650R/CB1000R styling instead of the CB500F which is neither classical nor bold/fashionable.
I'm sure the chatGPT uses crawlers (code that sweeps thousands of web pages to collect info) in order to build its responses - that explains the bland press phrasing.
You are a content creator, so you should be safe for decades to come - no PC will match one's creativity and intangible savyness (if that's an English word) and there's also the voice and cadence which would be really hard or at least very expensive to replicate.
Not that you asked my opinion, but I would argue a starting rider (especially a young one) should not go above A2-compliant motorcycles for at least two years. I have a different opinion regarding first cars because usually more expensive/powerful ones offer better safety, but with motorcycles, apart from ABS (present in all new motorcycles) you don't get any protection aside from what you wear.
    Cheers

I'm short and probably weight less than you, so I found both the riding position and the setup of the suspension perfect for me. Tyres more important and they're probably the best. Like you I'm 6'2" and it's a pain, yes I'd fit more naturally on a Transalp but aging hips disagree and at an extra £2,000 it's hard to see where that extra has been spent. The Hornet i borrowed had an obnoxiously loud AR Racing straight through system but laws, neighbours and eardrums not withstanding, it sounded glorious. The package did rather feel like a £7,000 engine with a £500 spent on the rest of the bike but i could live with that i think.
