This is basically a live action anime.

This film, like all Tarantino movies, is a homage to a particular era of Filmmaking. In this case, its 70's Martial Arts. The film comes with all the genres "quirks" including lots of expositional dialogue, blends of Eastern music and western funk, rock and Jazz numbers, abrupt music sequencing and ultraviolence. Fans of the genre will be able to point out the large number of Easter Eggs in the movie, the most obvious ones being The yellow biker suit inspired by Bruce Lee and the Hattori Hanzo sword inspired by the real life Japanese warrior of the same name.
Bleeping out the Bride's name is an homage to Clint Eastwood's character of "the mysterious stranger with no name" from those spaghetti westerns by Sergio Leone.
Clint's character did have a name. It was Joe.

@@dx315 There is actually. In one of the "Dollars" films a side character does say his name, albeit very quickly and in a heavy accent. Extremely missable and it only occurs once in the entire trilogy. Secondly, I used to own the director's cut special edition DVD of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, which in the beginning original credit screen with the animated cannons going off, Clint Eastwood's name appears on screen as Joe...with Joe in quotation marks. These are the only two hints to his first name in the trilogy. No last name is ever revealed though.

The common denominator between this movie and John Wick is the film's fight choreographer, Yuen Woo Ping. When he was not working on his own legendary movies, he became an action director for Hollywood action movies in the 2000s. This began with his work on The Matrix. It was on this set that Keanu Reeves met his stunt double, Chad Stahelski. Keanu and Chad became close friends and years later made The John Wick movies.

I had a chat last year with an older gentleman who was an Army veteran. He was a member of the Army competition pistol team. I remember one time I was resting on a weight training bench, flat on my back, feet on the floor, legs bent at 90°, for about nearly an hour. When it was time to go, I got up... and went *RIGHT BACK DOWN*! Had to wake my legs up with the quickness. Again, that was less than an hour. So imagine four years.

Chapter 1 Says “2” with it circled because the first scene in the movie actually takes place after she killed O-Ren Ishii and left Okinawa. So in chapter one, she’s about the kill the second person on her list.

The reason it was out of order is because Tarantino believed that it was best to show the journey of getting to her kid. Plus he split it up because it would have been 4+ hours straight. It was made for tv at first so they split it up for certain people to get to the end of part one, and then get excited for part 2 of the climax of the film. This was her best work other than the other movies she did but I for one enjoyed this character the most because it shows how you should fight for yourself and your family even if they’re alive or not.
The chapter fighting O-Ren was designed to resemble a Japanese anime. And was very well written.
At this time we didnt know much about Quintin as kids but when this dropped we immediately knew Tarantino was def watching all the same high quality animes we were raised on and with all the legends that worked on the choreo and action he luved all the same kung fu flicks as us too. Instantly became one of our favorite movies : D

23:48 Yes, Bill was the former student that they were referring to. Bill used his skills essentially to create this organization of contract killers. Why mostly women as the assassins? Idk other than Tarantino took inspiration from Charlie's Angels and put his own spin on the concept, instead of female spies for hire under a mystery man as their boss to which is Charlie himself, its female assassins
to be exact this was a thing they had cooking up since they did pulp fiction together and had the idea on shelf from Pulp Fiction mention of Mia's tv pilot for (Fox Force Five) and that eventually turned in the "The Deadly viper assassination squad" in Kill Bill
The "silly rabbit, tricks are for kids" was to show that the bride and O-Ren may have actually been friends when they were working with Bill. That was possibly an inside joke that they shared. The Bride also had O-Ren at the top of her list. Which could mean she felt the most betrayed by her former friend.
The saying "Silly rabbit, Trix r for kids." Is a slogan for Trix cereal so not "tricks".
I think she went for O-Ren first cause she was the easiest to find.
This is the correct answer. The original script notes that O-Ren and B were the closest and the Trix slogan was an inside joke they shared. Bride went after O-Ren first because she would've been impossible to get to if O-Ren already knew she was coming. They didn't know she was out of the coma until she killed O-Ren.
Yeah, it’s not really meant to be realistic obviously ha ha. It’s more based on like anime and Japanese samurai films and the like.

The thing about vernita and the bride is Vernita definitely would have won had they did the knife fight in the dark as she was the best with knives but she was so cocky that she thought she could beat Beatrix and kill her in broad daylight
I used to bite my nails a lot in the past, I wouldn’t let them grow. And when I did it was satisfying to chew it off. But I assure you it’s just a really hard brain game. You need to consciously tell yourself that it’s not worth it. I would say it takes about a week to two weeks of not doing it and it usually goes completely away after that but it does come back if you think about it too much
At least that’s my opinion about it

Hey MJ, one thing u got to keep in mind when watching Tarantino movies is blood & feet.😄 I found it funny how u said something about people w/a foot fetish would really enjoy that scene w/Black Mamba trying to get her toe to movie.😄 I think in every single Tarantino movie there is a scene focused on female feet. I liked when u talked about your grandma speaking spanish around people that don't understand. It's the opposite for me. I worked w/a lot of spanish speaking women & they went around speaking in spanish & talking crap thinking I didn't understand them. That was until they saw the angry look on my face & I said something back in spanish. I might look like a white girl, but I am of Mexican descent.🙄 Anyway, I enjoyed this reaction & can't wait for KILL BILL Vol.2.😊

Fun Fact/facts : Alot of the actors were reused in both this movie and the next (examples being the Sherrif and the bald henchman she fought on the railing), also the blood fountaining started from an old samurai movie where a prop malfunctioned, and Tarantino made it a trademark for his films.

Quentin Tarantino's movies are known to be a bit campy. Which is why a lot of it didn't make sense for a real reality. And he's known for a lot of dialog.

But listen to her 1987 self-cover or her 2002 live version. But there's also her 1965 original release. The one in the movie is performed by Nancy Sinatra. Cher's own original is more jaunty and upbeat, while her self-cover is rock, but haunting.
