Example I was an alcoholic so I had a strong desires to drink I switched that bad desire to good desire now I have a strong desire to exercise, meditate, read a Lil. The point is you cannot stop desirese what really matters is what you have a desire for 🕉️
K's teachings are something tremendous and vital. So precious and so rare. It isn't something for a minute or two which seems rather casual. One has to give one's undivided attention, rather dedicate one's life to it; otherwise everything slips out so easily.
I guess it's not about suppressing or anything, but it's to have no preference. To "have no desire" is to have no preference, you are simply an open being with no preference. The only things I'm going to do is move with intention and make decisions - without desires or feeling (and even ego) getting in the way. In a way be above it, despite me desiring something I am fine either way whether I have it or not, whether I choose what I feel like or the thing that is good for me (like choosing between salad or pizza), I'm going to make choices through my values and such.
When I watched and listened attentively to a group discussion about desire and then the subsequent meditations of what came first, the thought or the thinker, it hit me like a truck. It appears to my thinking it is impossible to make decisions without thinking. I will do my best and decide objectively, what is the best outcome without my place in it? Then it occurs to me, okay i removed my self interests from a decision. But I have to choose someone from a group and that requires thinking and judging who is best for the job. Decisions decisions …
Suppression of the single desire energy themselves transforms a lot of multiple desires energies over period, suppression creates a lot of pressure over mind energys then deviations occupied in vast space of mind zone's.
Thank you for the precious Krishnamurti contect! Still I want to say I wouldn't cut the words of his teaching to such a little pieces, I think this makes it lack some important insight about the matters he's talking!
Religions doesnt supress desire. They recommend an ideal circle that if you are in it; only this way you can feel and taste the best version of desire.. To protect humanity from potential to be an animal.. I can feel you Krishna.. Can feel your desire to draw a circle that you determine the limits :) Trying to look to people from God’s level maybe possible, but a man can never be God..
I agree with some commenters on here, though he makes some strong points on some of his opinions. He has no idea what he is talking about when he says spirituality. He is sure intelligent to an extent though. Oh and he is not correct about the monks.
The greater desire at the end, is desire itself, the desire of not desiring.
Not correct
That would be torture an unachievable desire
Example I was an alcoholic so I had a strong desires to drink I switched that bad desire to good desire now I have a strong desire to exercise, meditate, read a Lil. The point is you cannot stop desirese what really matters is what you have a desire for 🕉️
@@thesage90 Yes, and also how you approach & view the desires - remaining conscious and aware is the most important thing :)
@@jamesgregory1144 how not correct

His teachings are so logical. Just points to something that was always there and just not recognized by our limited minds. One can't argue with that.
Beautiful words by a beautiful man❤

Desire for a higher world where only truth exist is the supreme law.
Understanding desire leads to dissipation of it
Blessed
Thank u sir

Wow mind blown
You will only have all you want when you stop wanting anything.
No point of getting those when you dont want to get
It means u dont waste energy and those thingd come naturally to you
This is based on reward and punishment it is mechanical. Be aware of that and put throught in its right place that is art.
Superb
Theire suppressing the deaires to achieve a greater desire.... Resonating totally 🙏🏽❤
Not to achieve but eliminate... Desire "through " a greater desire, imagining a greater desire or something
The absolute sarcasm 🤟🤣🤣🤣🤟
Beat a harmful desire with a Productive Desire. Don't supress desire , grow desires to what you want them to be.
Spirituality is all about no desire(zero mind activities) doesn't matter good or bad.
Insightfully funny.

I think he's pointing to the fact that for many they can fall for the idea of enlightenment to 'gain' something greater... Its a tricky one.
❤️🙏
Can anyone please share the link of the full video.
We can never be free of desires, only have greater desires.
Wow
So? Where is the solution?

By wanting to be rid of desire, is in itself a desire 😂 just observe and see things for exactly what they are.
soooooooooooo....that thought i just had is desire....very well just ignore it and carry on?
🤌

Like a snake eating it's own tail.
Damn XD
What Krishnamurti said is usually difficult to understand to common people , and therefore not realistic .
Then the common people should start questioning. Just because they can't understand doesn't make something unrealistic, I feel 🙂
Je regrette j’ai jamais Participate at his confereces
He is good but I believe he is not God believer person,
