    "The Greatest Player of all Time" MJ!!

  • @jordanlover23

    What an INSANE shot attempt at 2:17-2:18. Completely absorbs the contact, hangs, and then comes full circle on the scoop attempt. Too bad the foul made him miss it -- one of the prettiest misses you'll ever see. ANOTHER sick lay-in at 3:17. He wanted to jam that, but layed it in DOWNWARDS through the basket lol. Awesome contested 3 at 3:48. I love when people say MJ couldn't hit the 3 when he has countless 3's to end quarters/halves or late in games or to beat the shot clock.

    LOL Jordan semi-posted up and hit a hook shot off the glass at 5:08 over Elden Campbell, a 7-footer. GOAT.

    91-92 95-96 Bulls teams greatest ever

  • @chitownref
    @chitownref 11 лет назад +8

    MJ is at 50% for his career. .497 is close enough but after retiring from the Bulls in '98 his career FG % was comfortably over 50%. Those horrible years in Washington, which he only played to get out of being the Wizards owener, brought down his percentages. Kobe is the best of his generation but Kobe and Lebrick are no where near the player nor have better numbers than MJ had from 84-98.

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад +2

    the numbers speak for themselves.....you see mike scoring a dominating series...when did you see mike get shut down in the playoffs? ive seen kobe struggle against mediocre players like bruce bowen and raja bell. mike played against some of the best defenders of all time like joe dumars and still dominated.

    magic is the greatest laker of all time....mike is the best player all time period...magic is right behind him though...the thing that puts mike above all is his dominance...he dominated teams and ripped their hearts out and ate it.. even magic said mike is the best all time.

    I always find it comical when someone say that kobe bryant is a better basketball player than michael jordan...first i shake my head at them and then laugh in their face cause obviously they dont know basketball...IF mike was in his prime during this era he would averaged at least 40+ and 50% from the field...when was the last time kobe ever averaged 50% from the field throughout a season???

  • @blackadam06

    "Last season, Jordan had to [overcome] the harassment of [zone traps] and [double & triple teaming] to win the scoring title by averaging 37.1 points a game"
    -- NY Times, Nov 4, 1987
    "Zones were also used [frequently] before they were [legalized] as well. One example, the 80s Celtics were known [users] of it & always got away with it. These are the same Celtics Jordan destroyed from an individual standpoint."
    -- NY Times, Feb 29, 2009
    But MJ didn't face zones?

    @siggascation Very educated comment my friend, based on what nothing, I think that Michael Jeffrey Jordan, is one the finest athletes of all time (any sport) and the greatest basketball player to ever play the game, in a list of many great legends he's on top, now that said, I still stick by my previous point that, he would have done WELL in this Lakers game yes, however if the real showtime team was there, he would have scored much less, based on their solid championship winning defense.

  • @radioactivehands
    @radioactivehands 12 лет назад +1

    Pippen was good and the Lakers, I must say, did a very good job of taking MJ out of the lane and the paint. It was good defence on Jordan, putting a body on him everytime he went up in the paint and stopping him from going in, forcing Jordan to take contested jumper which is more than acceptable defence on MJ at his prime.

    "Our rules are [focused] on keeping the middle [open] to offer [more opportunities] for players to [cut & penetrate] to the basket. When we [disallowed] the use of the [hand] & [forearm] to the [body], the [defensive 3-second rule] in [conjunction] with the [hand check] interpretation, [gave] offensive players on the [perimeter], [more] offensive [freedom]."

    @waff1eirontmacsplat Those people should take a look at the 1990 eastern conference final, where Jordan hits several three pointers, with several Detroit pistons in his face.

    "there was no zone d, period. MJ didnt get hit but the brunt of ZD's capabilities"
    Lets see what Phil says B4 facing the Sonics in the finals:
    "I don't think Seattle is going to put Gary Payton on Michael Jordan. We like that matchup because he'll get in foul trouble. In a [zone defense] like Seattle [plays], they're just going to [double-team] him [all] the time."

    @utfanatic2000
    Exactly! I swear I was going to post almost the same thing before reading you're comment. lol
    MJ was focused in scoring and helping his team to win. Not in scoring"'style points", as you said, or in shooting every ball that he got in his hands, or in making faces and poses and trying to appear to the cameras. His own basketball was the highlight. Kobe should had understood that before trying to copy Jordan.
    *sorry for the bad english.

    im still trying to figure out where kobe fits in with mike....in what category? scoring titles? defensive MVPs? league MVPs? mike easily could have won the league MVP when barkley and malone won it but the league wasnt gonna have that. mike played in a tougher league also...today's players are good athletes but they are not good BASKETBALL players..today's players basketball IQ is horrible they are lazy....larry bird is not a good athlete but he has a better IQ than any player today.

    Zones were indeed illegal in MJ's era, but teams STILL played 'em:
    "[Zones] were also used [frequently] [before] they were [legalized] as well. One example, the 80s Celtics were known [users] of it and always [got away] with it. These are the [same] Celtics Jordan [destroyed] from an individual standpoint."

    do you understand the effect that hand checking had on the game?

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад +1

    the eras are close enough...let us not forget kobe came into the league shooting air balls and acting weird to where mike came in wanting to be the best no matter what...i think people keep forgetting how dominant shaq was and that kobe was good but he in no way shape or form could lead that team to a title back then. he just figured it out in 2006. before then he didnt care who was on the team he just wanted shots. he thought he didnt need a team to win a title and he was wrong.

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад +1

    it wouldn't happen....its no difference from when mike played and when he drove the lane the big bodies didnt move they just clothes lined his ass. no team is triple teaming anyone the zone doesnt triple team....you have to remember that mike made great decisions with the ball unlike kobe who jacks up wild shots in the corner and continuously makes horrible decisions.

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад

    well yeah he had help but how many finals MVPs did scottie have? let us not forget that mike not only has the record for pts per game in the playoffs all time but he has done things that no one has done in modern day hoops and probably will never do again. he avg 41 a game in the finals in 93' thats dominance...he won the league MVP, scoring title and defensive player of the year ALL IN THE SAME SEASON!!! what can kobe compare himself to jordan in? he will never have the MVPs or scoring titles.

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад +1

    naw im talking about the era when hand checking was legal and to get fouled you actually had to touch someone....not like today where refs fix games and you see teams shooting immense amount of FTS for nothing. if mike, magic or bird played today they would avg. 40 pts a game based on that fact alone. zone D means nothing because players today dont enforce it nba players are lazy and not very good ballers....they are good ATHLETES but not good basketball players.

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад

    its not that kobe is so far below mike but the problem is his numbers are no where near mike's....its like people forget that mike was scoring in the 50s in the playoffs...kobe has never scored 40 in a playoff game. its like people forget mike has not 1 not 2 not 3 but 6 finals MVPS to kobes 2 and the recent one is for debate. there was never a debate if mike was the best when he played...there is a debate with kobe and the league isnt even as good as it was when mike played.

  • @JCR1992
    @JCR1992 13 лет назад

    @mbtoober he would of scored less?
    1987: 41 and 33 Pts
    1988: 39 and 38 Pts
    1989: 42 Pts
    1990: 37 Pts and 32 Pts
    1991: 33 Pts
    87-89 were definitely showtime years and those were some of his highest scoring games.

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад +3

    ok? and that 81 was against who? mike avg. 43 in the finals in 93' kobe has never even scored that much in a finals game....kobe is no where near mike son...

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад

    you're right and mike had the best role players in scottie pippin, ron harper and dennis rodman and they always came to play...can you say the same for lamar kardashian or ron ron? i think not....kobe takes some of the worst shots known to man and even he knows it....did you not watch the nba finals? when have you seen mike not put his team in the best position to win? so you can send 3 guys at mike that just means scottie will have 35, harper will have 22 and mike will still get his...

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад

    uh shaq avg. 34 for that finals and the pistons beat LA by putting tayshaun prince on kobe who is 6 ft 7in and long....then on D kobe had the task of chasing around rip hamilton coming off of screens...kobe wasnt ready to lead anyone anywhere in 2004. majority of the series kobe was guarded by prince they doubled shaq down low. shaq still got his tho. if kobe didnt have so many half assed players maybe it would look better but kobe holds the ball too long and nobody else is that good.

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад +1

    really?? tony allen?? ray allen?? besides tony allen they are a bunch of old ass men...last i checked ray was in his prime when mike played...i'll take the zone D over hand checking anyday. you couldnt just come down the lane in the 90s you would get clobbered and mike did it all the time...the pistons damn near killed mike...today you cant even get close to a player they will be fouled out of the game. if mike played today he would avg. 30 FTs a game.

    81 pts against the worst team in the nba?? or scoring consistantly in the 60s against playoff teams hmmmmmm i'll take the latter. not to mention david robinson scored 71 in a game so what does his 81 pt game mean? not much unless its done againt formidable comp. i think last night pretty much puts an end to any argument about kobe and #23, kobe pissed the bed.....majority of laker fans still say magic is the best laker of all time...

    In MJ's 841st game, he MADE his 10,000th career field goal & in his 857th game, he'd only taken 20,000 career shots at the end of that game.
    In kobe's 1,035th game, he'd taken 20,000 career FG attempts and in 1,052 games (and counting), he STILL hasn't made 10,000 career shots, and won't do so until sometime around next year or in 2013 LOL!!
    MJ's rookie season was BETTER overall than kobe's last 3 seasons, yet U claim he's "as good as Michael ever was"? Hahahahaha!!

    This was versus a weak sauce Lakers squad, I am a huge Jordan/ Pippen fan, but it wouldn't have been like this with the showtime Lakers, or the kobe/Shaq Lakers, I'm 37 and been playing Basketball for 20 years, and watching even longer, so I know what I'm talking about. Lakers FTW:)

    what kobe fans dont understand is kobe is one of the worst decision makers in the league.. he takes horrible shots and makes things harder for himself..kobe's basketball IQ is not that high and mike made things look easy because he was a predator on the court and he knew how to make things easy he could take a defenders weakness and use it against him.

  • @Theycallmekenney
    @Theycallmekenney 14 лет назад

    MVP over who? lebron? not really...Lebron has better numbers and without lebron the cavs are a 25 win team...without kobe the lakers still make the playoffs. Mj played with 4 hall of famers?? who? he had scottie for 6 titles he only had rodman for 3...kobe blew the team up thats no ones fault but his. the lakers could have won 7 in a row but his ego and his selfishness got him getting smoked by phoenix in the first round every year. kobe has the benefit of no handchecking and ultra fixed refs.
