@6:38, That was UN-believable ! 15 seconds left, he knew he had to miss it and he knew nobody would think he would try it. He is the first player to react because he knew he would miss it on purpose. Now I played and watched a tone of basketball in my life but I have never seen a player do that in the clutch with THAT MUCH PRECISION. Thanks to that angle, you can even see him anticipate where the ball was going, so he knew exactly what he was doing. And then, he goes through 3 defenders to score right after ! His skills were so much better than the rest of the players, even at 35, it's incredible ! GOAT !!!
People forget how much Jordan carried them this year. Pippen was out for half the year and Rodman was out for a while too. Also in the finals in game 6 Pippen was hurt and MJ had to carry them and score 45 and the game winning shot to make sure the Jazz didn't go to game 7 in Utah. MJ is the GOAT
Michael had a special connection with the city of LA. Not only the fact that one of his greatest inspirations of competition playing there (Magic Johnson), but the fact that Michael played in LA the summer of 1984, after being drafted by the Bulls, to compete for and win a gold medal for the USA. Crowd loved MJ ever since because MJ seemed to put on a show most any place, but starting in LA for the gold medal USA team in 84.
I miss theez dayz of Johnny Red Kerr when Mj would perform masterpieces on the court, im so fuckin happy I grew up in the era I did, born n raised in Chicago, I use to scream my lungs out along with the announcers at the greatness that iz Mj, no 1 will ever compare, even though The Black Mamba iz the closest thing to Mj, and as great as Kobe is, Mj is 100x better, I wish cud rewind time!
Eddie G well said and not the only one who grew up when he did in Chicago (I'm 45) the best toys, best cartoons especially on Saturday mornings even when we got home from school cartoons were on the coming, age of videogames, better music, games we came up with when outside (like catch a girl kiss a girl, hide and seek, or dodge ball) playing in fire hydrant we were never bored we had more imagination then to top it off basketball (especially Sunday games on NBC) and football in 80s and 90s these kids today and of last generation or so I feel sorry for they don't have a clue about all those things especially about MJ and basketball in the 80s and 90s the individual player and team rivalries and NBC had you hyped with the games you were about to watch Bulls vs Pistons or vs Knicks or vs Cavs (or Hawks (MJ vs Dominque) I feel sorry for kids now almost no cartoons (crappy one at that) very little to no toys good ones at that growing up with no Toys R Us girls don't jump ropes or hopscotch no bike riding. It's sad

One of my all time favorite Air Jordan games. He just willed this team to this victory without Pippen and the rest of the Bulls having an off night. This is his 3rd to last season but he's still in his prime. Set the tone for the season that they weren't going to have another '93 no matter the injuries.
I was at this game I am remember how much the fans cheered when he scored and that dunk he did was unbelievable to see in person be literally flew.... If anyone has the whole game please let me know!! Thanks
I was wondering (before clicking on this vid) why MJ would score 49 against a 'bad' team like the Clippers... Now I see after 2 OT's he had to. If you play basketball (or any sport for that matter) you know that feeling and you're thinking to yourself "I'm not losing to these guys". Great game and thanks again Balthus23
During the 2nd 3peat he played in 82 regular season Game's. And in all the postseason Game's as well. His durability was insane to match his skill and will which IMO makes him the GREATEST Athlete/basketball player I've ever seen.
That's everywhere he went with the exception of the old Cleveland stadium. Even in NY, at the Garden where he played a lot of college ball and where he acknowledged he loves playing there, he gets cheers.
I remember this game. He started off shooting very poorly like at one point 5 of 14 and very poor at the line. I think he finished 18 of 38 from the field and 13 of 19 at the line. If his finger hadn't been bothering him so badly it would have been a 60 point game.
I may he remembering incorrectly, but I think Michael started off shooting rather poorly in this game, something like 5 of 14 from the field. For the rest of the game, he went something like 13 of 24 from the field and he would have had yet another 50 point game had he not went only 13 of 19 from the foul line (the 1997-98 season was Jordan's worst season at the line, at 78%).
@ :47 Rick Barry? That was his dad. @ 3:20 Come fly with me 97'? instead of 91'. Poster Time, all the way.Why did Jordan have to do Brent Barry like that and drop him off for nearly the single nickle. I've heard of strong Bulls contingents on the road during the "golden era) but not quite like this crowd at lac.

+Young Rain
Something Kobe can't do.
not mention Kerr missed time this season and MJ had the torn ligaments in his shooting hand and he would turn 35 years old that season.
And he was dominating wit Jumpshots now. Not athleticism, speed and dunks but wit a fade away jump shot. And he was still the best unbelievable...
3:04 was just criminally good. The greatest force the game has ever known.

I love how LA crowd is cheering for MJ. :)
Even though the game was close, MJ played liked he was in complete control throughout.
I was at this game I am remember how much the fans cheered when he scored and that dunk he did was unbelievable to see in person be literally flew.... If anyone has the whole game please let me know!! Thanks
GOAT of clutchness.

The energy in arenas was just different when he played
The best ever

Must have been fun to bandwagon for MJ at that time. Almost impossible to make an argument against his greatness.
Such an upset of not being a bulls fan in90s, even LA cheered for him
Wonder how long it will take me to watch all jordans 30+ point games...
Nice video but I am disappointed that such an amazing game is nowhere to be found on youtube as a full game! :(
it's been added since you wrote this comment:

johnny red kerr - he coached the bullies way back in the day and once said the bulls are like his children - he loves it when they do well.
second FT I mean !!
THX 4 uploading
at 3:30...what an elevation for a 34 year old man?! GOAT
Clippers fans cheering for the opposition... that’s a real goat
I went to bed with the Bulls trailing 36-22. My dad woke me up when the Bulls had it wrapped up. The next morning, I had my driver's license.
Funny, it makes me feel confused in the end is actually which team's home court?
are they playing in united center? crowd gets wild everytime jordan score
No in LA
That's everywhere he went with the exception of the old Cleveland stadium. Even in NY, at the Garden where he played a lot of college ball and where he acknowledged he loves playing there, he gets cheers.
@@scottcobra1 "with the exception of Cleveland..." Was going to reply THIS to OP's question. You beat me to it.
It's completely true though
Do you have the game during the 1999 season where the Bulls won 89-84? Wennington made a 3-pointer in that game @!
99?
I remember this game. He started off shooting very poorly like at one point 5 of 14 and very poor at the line. I think he finished 18 of 38 from the field and 13 of 19 at the line. If his finger hadn't been bothering him so badly it would have been a 60 point game.
Great game by #23
Darrick Martin started talking trash to MJ so MJ woke up and schooled the dude.
he is the only king... forget about lebron he is good but not even close..
Only Jordan can get the away crowd to act like the home crowd LOL
Listen at 1:40 and 1:46 ...a fan is trying REALLY hard to rattle MJ at the line...LMAO
The scream at 1:39, dead.
Michael Williams I know right.
@ 3:14... Watch Jordan fly. And I wonder who coach Phil Jackson is giving the death stare to @ 9:30? lol
Probably either luc or toni
People probably knew it was MJ's last game @ Clippers.
goat
Correction =)
If it wasn't for the finger, he'd have crushed them with 30, and sat the 4th out :-)
Martin at the end of OT:
"Damn, that shit always worked in 'Above the Rim'...."
how can a team not score during an ENTIRE overtime period... that's embarassing. even if they were up against MJ
MJ was tired as hell!
I was at this game

Lol this commentator makes me crack up. He's freaking out over a typical Jordan game. Had he commentated on the 69 pt game he may have lost his voice
Clippers did not score in that second OT -_-
Thatz sad how the Clippers scored NO points in the second OT. Zilch.
Rodman missed 2 games that season
i think a hawk or eagle got into the building at 1:39
@GlitchInMotion well...its the clippers....lol
lol MJ looks bored
Bulls looked bored
sucks to be brent barry lol
