Hi Gina! Great responses to this tag. Judy Blume is such a powerful and important choice! And yes, she has always been targeted and she is still being attacked, most recently in Utah. Great choice!

I agree with you about Judy Blume. She's ahead of her time and touched a lot of people from all different walks of life. I enjoyed watching the documentary as well.

It really was a great documentary. I knew that her books were controversial but I hadn't really realized, I guess, the extent of that.

Hi Gina. Thank you, for doing my first original tag. I’m so happy to meet you here. Judy Blume is a wonderful writer. Even though I was 25 when Forever came out, the book amazed and delighted me. I’m so glad you mentioned her. I enjoyed your answers very much. I’ve just subscribed. Aloha friend

What a great tag! Judy Blume is a phenomenal author indeed. I agree with all of your choices! I haven't read the book, but I did watch the movie based on Cheryl Strayed and it was so good.

The book by Cheryl Strayed is soooo good. I definitely recommend it. I know that I could never do that hike alone. And yes... Judy Blume continues to be so relevant. The documentary about her was very good.

I LOVE Judy Blume. My parents were not really readers, so I was labeled the "book worm". I realize the controversy surrounding banning some books, as some of them are a little more detailed than what needs to be. I never thought of Judy Blume as being one of those Authors. Also, I can see your POV, especially remembering how I was as a tween. Another great tag!!

Yes, my mother wanted a particular book moved from the children's section to the adult section based on what was in it. The town librarian didn't move it because it was still there the next time I went. She did become more vigilant on what I was reading.

Thank you for the tag! I love hearing all your answers.
Hearing about all the book bans in Utah make me really disheartened because I live in Utah. I really hate how many books that could really help the younger generation are getting banned here. 💔

It is very disappointing. I can understand that perhaps some content may not be appropriate for certain ages... but banning books is on another level.

Oh my goodness Ms Gina. I feel like a fish out of water! I think that I am the only Male in the comments? And I feel so intimidated because You and Mrs. Pat are both Teachers and are both here. I grew up in an age where students were in awe and felt small next to Teachers. I was scared to talk to my Teachers outside of the classroom. Boy, talk about off topic! Anyway, I have two Female writers that I enjoy. The first one is Paulette Jiles, she wrote one of my top favorite Westerns. And the other is Eudora Welty, a Southern writer. I enjoyed the video and Thank you for sharing. I apologize for being off topic. -James

@@TheLibraryMouseGina Yes Check out Paulette Jiles. She wrote the Western titled News Of The World. It was made into a movie starring Tom Hanks which I haven't watched. I have another of her books titled Stormy Weather. I haven't read it yet. Thanks -James
