As a Rusty fan this is a great! I've been going to Pocono since the late 80's. The track really started to get with the times around the mid 90's. Mattioli knew NASCAR was blowing up and he had to keep up. This race was run a day or two after the Olympics began in Atlanta so there was a little extra "juice" in the crowd. Look at the infield crowd around the 6 minute mark! It's massive!! It also happened during a wicked heatwave in the Northeast. It was BRUTALLY hot!
