You two have taught me probably 80% of what I know about art - It saddens me to think about that big empty space that would be inside me without RUclips.

Such a great video and conversations ❤ Thank you for your candidness. I also think that RUclips is punitive for creators that take breaks - it would be amazing for RUclips to actually incorporate a “break” feature. I’m taking a step back from RUclips and the impact it would have on actually reaching my community when I’m back was a big thing I considered x

I have been subscribed to both of you for ages.. I am so glad to see you talk about Temu. I learned about (Chinese) intellectual property theft some years back when a radio show host was talking about having a piece of equipment he designed being reverse engineered and undercutting his price. There were so many people doing Temu hauls. I resisted for a while then I placed one small order of mostly kitchen gadgets. They were so relentless trying to get me to buy again I deleted everything.. The thing that alarms me is the number of crafters doing Temu hauls.. I completely refuse to watch any Temu hauls. These crafters would be outraged if it were their intellectual property being stolen and sold as cheap Chinese goods, but they don't think anything about buying someone else's designs as long as it's cheap.

Cinnamon is very brave and speaking such truth. I admire her honesty. My sister is bi-polar and manic can be just as she is describing and/or worst. I hope that those who relate recognize that there comes a time to seek help. I'm thankful her family pushed her to make that call. It sounds as though she has a handle on it now and that is wonderful. Bless her and yay for Ann Arbor, it is a fabulous community not far from me.

Ladies started watching you both at a time in my life when I was kinda restricted to home other than when I was working, more by choice but still restricted. Anyway I started painting, previously had gone to college and received a degree in Art, but not done anything with it. Then I found Cinnamon and Lindsay and a lot of other people, I quietly watch and now has been over a decade ago. I sometimes post a comment but mostly give you a thumbs up and really admire what you all do. Never forget that like you said it doesn't have to be millions, you touched me in a way that got me doing art if anything just for myself, it got me though a very hard time in my life, art brought me a lift, a lift to my inner spirit, i didn't care if anyone saw or liked what I created, IT MADE ME HAPPY. I found a pleasure in something positive and YOU ALL did that so please it's not about the millions of viewers although that would be nice I'm sure, it's about the quality of what you do bring to the table which comes from your hearts and so to me that is so much MORE VALUABLE than I can express or the millions of likes that are here today and gone tomorrow only because they are a fad and they aren't REAL. Keep being YOU and thank you for what you do! You are AMAZING! God Bless to you both and your families.

Thank you Lindsay and Cinnamon. I appreciate the conversation on Mental Health. My husband and I both live with mental health issues. We are 65 years old and have watched the mental health field grow and change since the early 1970's. It is important for people to know it is okay to ask for and receive help. Sometimes this requires having medication. By having help we have a better chance at living a good life. I enjoyed the RUclips and AI conversation. Thank you so much.

I am so glad to hear the topics of this conversation being discussed. Cinnamon, I am sorry for the mental health challenges you are experiencing but I'm happy you have found the resources and support to help you recognize symptoms and better manage them. That takes courage. As for RUclips and other social media platforms, I find it absolutely discouraging and I am saddened that our talented creators need to invest so much time managing the game of algorithms and monitoring unwelcome and sometimes threatening creepers. I wish we who enjoy and thoroughly appreciate all of the content we learn from could get the message through that it is not all about profit. It's about a safe community that is healthy for both creators and viewers. I wish that our creators could just focus on what they enjoy and we as viewers could simply seek out the content we are interested in without it being forced.

My two favorites. This will be good. You are both successful with your channels is you are consistent, great teachers, make something that many of us seems unreachable down into steps we can do and have beautiful art.
You both teach us the basics, what brushes, paint on other media, and substrate and why, explaining while you paint the why that demistify most of us.

Yay ! Cinnamon was the reason I got back into art after high school and she directed me to you for more watercolor tutorials after my aunt me a watercolor tube kit from a art box at a goodwill, I become obsessed after that, mostly because watercolor is such a small medium, I didn't have much space, and because the translucency was breathtakingly beautiful! I want to thank the both of you for taking your time to teach these subjects. They are far more enganging and information than my high school art classes were😢they never even taught us the importance of paint or paint sufaces, which in my book is quite literally the first thing you should learn and therefore should be part of the high school curriculum❤❤❤ love you 2 so much!

Rarely post comments on you tube videos that I watch but felt that I must do so in this presentation.
Thank you Lindsey and Cinnamon for sharing your experiences. I learned sooo much from your comments. Cinnamon you are brave woman to discuss your mental health situation with the world. Your openness and honesty will touch many lives especially during this "Time of Troubles" and hopefully assist in your healing process. As a nurse I am fully aware of the lack of behavioral/mental services in most communities as psych hospitals are filled to capacity with a long waiting list - every day.
Thank you to your family for deciding to share your lived experience with the public. Both of your comments related to the you work "tube treadmill" was very revealing along with the evolution of social media over the past 20-30 years. News to me .. but I do not have children or grandchildren. I see children, adolescents and young/middle aged adults "wired" to their cell phones in public places, even restaurants where no one speaks face to face any longer. Very concerning to say the least and its connection "transhumanism". I note that students attending college classes do not listen to lectures as they are on their social media sites throughout the class. Again, I appreciate both of your honest open conversation .... along with your instructional youtube videos that I have watched regularly over the years. Have learned so much from both of you as I did not begin painting until I was 76 yrs. old.

I agree with the lady. RUclips artists do not sell art. They sell their personality. AI isn't going to hurt them. Nor can AI teach someone the fundamentals. No one can teach art. One can't absorb art skill. One must actually put in effort, pencil time, brush time, etc to learn it. Nothing will remove real artists from society.

The industrial revolution started the process of replacing humans with mass production. but as you said, there are still people making things by hand. I crochet, so far, a machine can't crochet, but it will happen some day. I will still crochet. But if all human wage earning activity will eventually eventually be replaced by machine, what is next for us? 😮

I’d love to have a channel like you guys but I don’t have the energy! I have fibromyalgia!

Sorry to hear that, keep making art with the energy you have. When you make art your business you have less time for the fun art stuff. Protect your precious creative time and energy:)

Hello! I have chronic health conditions including fatigue and pain that make everything so difficult but I decided to start a channel anyway! I don't get to upload as often as I'd like to but I'm just seeing it as me building a back catalogue and hopefully recording my progress!
Setting up an art space that suits me makes a big difference! Until recently I'd get exhausted just getting my supplies out! Make everything as easy as possible for yourself and don't put any pressure on with regards to timings or output! Take your time and enjoy it 😊

I only recently sorted out mine! I have a couple of things to do to finish it and I thought I'd make a video out of that... which means it still hasn't happened cos I've been too tired. I'll get there eventually 😊 just don't push yourself too hard for anything, it's not worth the after effects! I wish you well with lots of good days 😊

So I know you are taking the summer off of Podcasts but….hear me out…Can you and Cinnamon just get together and chat like this about ANYTHING once a week, month, day? I will take it all. Going to comment about the kids, my son begged me to have a channel about 11 years ago when he was 8. He was going to do Lego stuff. I said no but goodness if I let him he probably would have been very successful but probably for the weirdos like you are talking about

Thank you Cinnamon for being so up front with your mental health journey, I have been watching and knowing you are helping others to deal with their own journeys.
