Didn't know much about John until getting tickets to this concert. Definitely a fan now. Anybody who can make a Telecaster a metal guitar deserves big time props!.
He just put hot humbuckers in it. Malmsteen did the same, and even has his own signature line for Fenders.
John 5 was the guitarist for Rob Zombie. Thats probably where you recognize him from.

John 5 is the perfect match for Motley Crue. Great to see him get the gig.

John is a brilliant musician and Motley songs aren't hard to play. Not taking anything away from Mick. He wrote some amazing songs.
Obviously we all miss Mick. But John 5 is doing one hell of a job carrying Mick's legacy and I can tell he's happy to be there (even happier than he was with Manson). I also hear him adding elements of his own into the songs. which is okay. He's a great fit and as a Mötley fan he has my blessing.
Agreed. I think John 5 is also doing a great job at not showboating and turning it into being all about himself. He knows all eyes are on him already.

I sure did lol. S@TD was so bad, my husband and i couldn’T recognize the song, and we are HUGE fans of that song/album. It was like there were two different songs playing on top of each other. Someone in the comments above said that they ‘changed the song years ago’….. live? Well, they need to go back to the album cut because that was awful. And it sure wasn’t John 5’s fault.

I miss Mick Mars already. Feels like when I saw Vinnie Vincent with KISS and it just wasn’t the same.
All of these guitar riffs are a walk in the park for John 5. His tone is great and he's not even breaking a sweat on any of this. Vince however, looks like he needs an oxygen bottle to keep going. You can hear him wheezing as he tries to move around.
It’s not whether the riffs are easy to play, it’s about who came up with them. Many guitar players claimed stairway to heaven is easy, that’s true but it was about who came up with it. John 5 is a good guitar player who can play anything, but his performance is boring. He suits Rob more

I’m all for “giving the guy a break” but man Vince, that is next level bad. He’s never been great live (which makes you wonder anyway) but it does seem to be getting worse.
seen Crue in 1985 he wasn't great back then seen them in 2009 even worse, the band is brilliant their in the pocket and John 5 is on another level , I love Motely Crue big part of my music life but I would not pay to see this , this is about money nothing else, there comes a time when you for the sake of your own credibility or what's left of it to say I had a great run made a shit load of money , got the houses and the cars, time to hang the mic up , no shame ,

Some parts is sounds a bit better than he has the last decade. Other parts - his timing diction and even parts where the pitch is off.....you have to wonder what they were thinking during their rehearsals with John 5, especially since the publicly bragged how great their rehearsals were.

But the fact is that a voice is harder to maintain than other instruments (and is more obviously "off" live than an instrumentalist cutting out some notes if their fingers aren't as fast in their old age). With that said, I recognize the irony of talking about maintaining vocal quality while discussing Vince Neil, who never had quality vocals.
Not if you dont let yourself go like Vince did. No excuses Vince just doesnt care to take care of himself,eats and drinks whatever he wants and quite obviously doesnt exercise.Rob Halford, Bruce Dickenson, Dee Snider and Michael Sweet for example all sound fantastic.

Saw the Crue in the early days, what a show these guys put on!! Vince was on fire..climbing Scaffolding while singing, Skinny guy full of energy and kicking ass! Needless to say..it's all over now...the Scaffolding bit would be a sight ..
On the Dr Feelgood tour, not only was he hitting all the notes, but he was running and jumping all over the place as he was doing it. But now, it’s the same as it’s been for 20 years: miss words in songs, sing off key, and hold the mic towards the crowd cuz he’s too winded to sing the full song

Say what you want about Vince but he sounds a lot better than he did just a few years ago. i think with John 5 now the band sounds tighter. Vince will get better as this tour goes on. At least he is singing more words now.

John 5 is phenomenal! Grading on a curve, Vince Neil actually sounds decent but not great. Vince looks younger without the facial hair.

First live show together will take time to get the stage moves down but John5 is a great addition to Crue and just makes it look so easy. And Vince sux he is way past his prime.

John looks absolutely bored, the music is not complex and John 5 playing is a pretty talented player. (I know some people think that Mick is a guitar god) but Motley Crue is about as complex as KISS, (btw I love both MC and KISS).
Mick is the only guy in Crüe I like, but John 5 is off the charts better than Mick as an overall guitarist.

John 5 in Mötley Crüe is like when a group of friends decide to start a band and all of them don’t have little to any experience with playing instruments but one friend’s sibling does know how to play and is really good at it, so the friend ask them to join the band and they do just cause it’s their sibling. John 5 is that sibling really good at their instrument and Mötley Crüe is the Group of Friends that doesn’t really know what they’re doing

It would seem from some of these comments that not everybody has been to a rock concert. News alert Vince Neil doesn't sing so well. He sounds a lot better than he has in the past, and John 5 gives them some energy that they need.
