The Bearded Jeeper Oh yeah!! I’m interested. That would be great!! Let me know the details. It would be awesome. My first podcast 👍👍 hit me up on my Instagram acct - Just Jeep_It
Great video I had what I thought was a slipping chain in my transfer case but it ended up being the front u joint. Thanks for the video cause I was about to set her on fire.
Liked your video for the discussion of the u-joints, why they were bad, why you suspected they were "probably not bad" initially and how you diagnosed them. For upcoming videos, edit out the side conversations (family functions, the missus coming home to see the jeep blocking her spot, etc)
I feel your pain, did a bad bearing on pass side ( was a one piece, turned into a 2 piece unit had split in the center of the race) gotta pay to play unfortunately with 4wds
Lessons learned: well.. I always put anti-seize on mating surfaces… but the fact that I used anything to hold up my caliper made me feel like a pro last time I worked on the brakes! 😆
Did you notice any vibrations in the drivetrain from those ujoints. I have redone both of my driveshafts, and still have a good amount of vibration at different speeds, mostly at above 40MPH to about 80.... varies alot. But it definitely was also the rear ride height. I replaced the stock leaf springs, and got it back to normal ride height in the rear, and the vibrations have calmed down by over 50%. The remaining vibrations could be the front UJoints. I also inspected the front DIFF, and it's clean and nice. It' has new fluid. I am going to remove the rear DIFF lid and check that next. But I feel like the vibrations are coming from the front diff, or the front U/Joints, even after taking out the front drive shaft all together temporarily to diagnose. It seems logical that the only remaining ujoints must be the problem. THey are very rotational, vibration sound which seems very much like you would think sticky, worn ujoints would cause.
Great video new subscriber here

Nice job Joe.Looks like you're ready for a battle with those u-joints.I hope you replace them with Spicer brand .Good luck my friend.....
Thanks Dan. And yes nothing but the best for this Jeep. Spicer all the way. I spoil my shitbox.
I made the mistake of Moog, Spicer next time for sure for me!
Where is the second half of the video? Is there one? Thank you

Hello! Loved the video! But is it possible that the u joints start doing clunking noise while rolling straight? Clunks get faster when rolling faster.
Glad to be one of your thousands upon thousands of fans...keeps your from looking like you are talking to yourself...lol
Haha. My neighbors know I’m crazy. It’s too late.
Good vid. Are you still planning to make the u-joint repair/replacement video?
Haha. Sorry…. I just got another drive shaft from the junk yard. Since you asked, I’ll get some parts together and make a video!! Stay tuned. Thanks!!

Excellent!!!
Good video! Just curious, how many miles are on the front axles?
Thank you!!!! I had about 240,000 miles on the clock at the time my u-joint gave out

Actually I had no driveline vibrations at all. It was just when I turn the wheels did I feel the U joints binding up.
Please subscribe to my channel for more fun videos!! Thank you!!!!!
