- Im glad that Distant Horizons supports shaders now, okay actually only a few by the time i made this video.
but im Hyped to make more videos with it and experiment with more shaders in the future!

SO to anwser the question why I can't make a tutorial on how to install it, to keep it short, it is an EARLY ACCESS version wich isn't released yet. So that means that im not allowed to make a tutorial or to give any download links, but as soon as it releases, i'll make a tutorial. so stay tuned! ;)

i was already able to use alot of shaders at 32-48 render distance at 80-150 fps but being able to see 128-256 chunk in every direction is fantactic
Drains less fps at further distances tho

u could, ofc its gonna take some of your fps but if u play on 16 chunks its still gonna be somehow good. The mod makes renderred chunks into something like photo, u can still see how chunks are rendering but also u can see them
what if i tell you that you actually can, just likely not on the same level of this video (given that you install a lot of optimization mods)
I hope someday a next gen version of minecraft comes out that looks sorta like this. Even just shaders on console would be a dream come true.

Gtx 1660 Super R5 2600 and only 8GB of RAM at 128 render distance and Bliss shaders and I’m getting 70 fps, I never thought a mid tier PC would be able to get anything close to this it’s crazy
Is this dark magic? With RTX 2060, R7 5800x3D and 32GB of RAM, I get similar FPS but minecraft needs at least 24GB of RAM to not get freezes
@@751.L how much RAM have you allocated to MC? Even just going from 2 to 4 changed my performance and chunk generation times. And do you allow DH to fully generate all the chunks before you try to start playing?
@@LeviBlackermanI've allocated 24GB of RAM as it is the best I've tested, more is not needed. Chunks are already generated so this is not the problem. Maybe this is because I've set the quality of LODs to maximum, I'll try lowering this setting.
Your pc isn't mid tier it's low end sadly
@@751.L that’ll definitely do it, I feel like it being anything above high is pointless and takes away the point of LODd maximising performance while having the illusion of fully rendered insane render distances. I tried 256 and my performance is barely any different, just takes way longer to render the chunks the first time

@@gunide to answer the question why no one is making a tutorial on how to download dh 2.0 is pretty simple:
so the testers or in general anybody who knows how to get dh 2.0 is not allowed to make a tutorial, because its still in the beta. And the creator said that the beta might get your world or pc into troubles.
but as soon as the full version is available for everyone, I will make a full guide on how to download and install it.
but u can get it from the official iris discord.
and I used c2me and nvidium for a better performance.

what specs are you running this on, also what kind of FPS are you getting?.
my graphics card is a 4070 and my cpu is an intel core i9 13900KF and i get at 256 chunks render distance 240+ fps and i recorded on 1080p
I hate these youtubers showcasing this mod, yeah it may look good but it takes a long while before everything is even renderd in and the main problem being is that if too many chunks are being rendered it'll just stop working

do i need to config this mod ? i used DH a couple days ago and got bad FPS for some reason, also didnt notice a difference in visual distance. any tips on how to fix this low FPS issue?
I also have low fps and take a very long time to load the world. I changed the settings, but it didn't give any result at all. I allocated 10gb, i3 10100f, rx 5500xt, soon I will deliver ryzen 5600 and rx 6650xt. I hope that the situation will be much better.

I used the ReTerraForged world generation mod, but its not officially out yet, I got it from their discord
It looks amazing but there are a few oddlooking parts. Probably theyll fix it beforr public release
I think the build need some anti-aliasing, I’m noticing allot of jagged edges. But the rest is 4k🎉

I saw a lot of this type of videos like showing realism and none of them are showing it's full realistic potential with the addition of physics mod pro, can you try It? Or it crashes the game? 🤔

How can you run it that smooth? My PC is at the end with a Ryzen 3800X and a RTX2070Super. Can you share your settings? Which shader have you used?
i used the in-development bliss shader you can find it when you go to the bliss modrinth page, and scroll down and click the github link for the in development bliss shader or just look it up
but I have a 4070 so that also helps getting a good performance

@@nemetonlp I didn’t change anything in both settings and I recorded at 256 chunks render distance at over 100+ fps, so there is a good chance getting a good framerate at a lower render distance like 192-128 chunks
I would get it if only my PC could handle it.. I'm currently using BSL shaders and my fps goes straight at 10 fps. And I have a good computer
yeah, what are your specs and what mods did you use while getting 10 fps?
If it's AMD, i think there's an (un)known bug with their GPUs. Searched their discord and people say theyve had some problems, me included.

DH is actually very good for proformence since its using LoDs
You can change the level of detail for the LoDs in the options.
The shaders performance will vary

Does anybody have recommendations on the settings? I've tried DH before and tried this release now. And the loading is still so slow I can just set 100+ render distance without DH and it is as fast
I tried it recently at 256 chunks, it couldn't render them all with 32gb allocated. It also managed to allocate over 16gb of vram at one point but not sure if that was because of shaders at 4k. I did try a custom world so that might be asking too much but yea prepare to allocate a good bit of ram.
@@jocerv43 That's strange if you are talking about DH. I tried setting it to 800 distance and it worked. Tho it hadn't rendered the chunks properly. There are just too many bugs with distances that large as I see.
Also you could try setting 32+ ram with c2me mod - it allows you to increase the render distance for the "normal" chunks as long as you have enough memory
@@nottheevilyea past the default values it struggles to load chunks on it's own, I flew around with a freecam mod to get them to load in. Eventually the ram allocation gets maxed and it's a slideshow until I close the game entirely or it crashes. I'll have to check the c2me stuff
@@nottheevilApparently I waws trying 512 chunks not 256, but issues are very much still there. Might have to reset my current cache, most recent session was riddled with missing chunks. Walking over them didn't update the cache, joys of alpha mods.
