    PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
The Smart #1 electric SUV represents the start of a radical new era for the company best known for tiny two-seat city cars.
A few years ago, Smart’s original owner - Mercedes - signed a 50/50 partnership with Chinese car maker Geely to reinvent the brand behind the Smart Car as an electric car specialist with an entirely new line-up of models. Mercedes would take care of the design, and Geely (owners of Volvo for the past decade or so) would take care of the engineering.
The Smart #1 - which you're supposed to call the “Smart Hashtag One” - is the first product of the joint venture. As you can probably tell from the video, it's not another tiny city car. In fact, it’s similar in size to the BYD Atto 3, the Hyundai Kona Electric, the Kia Niro EV and the Peugeot e-200.
The Smart #1 is fitted with a 62kWh battery and has an official range of up to 273 miles. There's a standard version with a not-too-shabby 268bhp, plus a 422bhp Brabus variant with a hot hatch shredding official 0-62mph time of just 3.9sec.
So does the #1 deserve to become as popular as a viral tweet? Or is it as bang on trend as MySpace?

Drove it and like it! Only the energy recuperation is missing an OFF button...even the weak setting is quite strong....an idea for a future OTA version!
