I've been a victim of this kind of behavior when I was a child. I could only stomach to watch a few seconds of this video and burst in tears of anger by what was done to me. I complained and denounced what they did at the time, but nobody protected me. Don't ever invade a child's personal space. Don't do that to anyone, but particularly don't do it to a child.
They were friends and family of my parents and were often around.
I've learn to swim away, run away, jump away, duck away. I still jump if people come close and I also don't like those kisses on side of face when you meet friends.

Same as a child of the 80s they even tried to bribe me in front of adults. One guy would not stop and I almost bit his face and yet adults said I was rude. But my parents said they got creeped out because of adults saying I looked like Brook Sheilds (she did a spread in Sugar & Spice which was basically CP) so my parents were freaked out to not allow me alone with adult males or sleep overs.

Back then people seemed to think that statutory relationships were somehow okay, even something to be praised for. And sadly this sentiment in this country still continues to this day in many ways. All you have to do is look at a lot of the media aimed at kids. It's extremely disturbing and disgusting when you really analyze, dissect and think about this. Great video Pat. And she tought me to scream like hell if someone touches me, kisses me or if I feel uncomfortable about something, no matter if it is a stranger, friend or a relative. I always knew my mom would believe me and I could go to her at any time and she would eat a guy like the one in that show for breakfeast. In the 80s you would have never thought for a second that the most dark unimaginable outrages were happening on a friendly tv show you welcomed in to your own home. You would have to come to those conclusions with your own imagination and I doubt many people were that sick to even imagine what these people were doing. This is barely scratching the surface of a massive problem in this world, jeffrey epstein was no joke, a global VIP pedo ring was uncovered and is sicker than you could ever imagine, but using your logic you should be able to.

I recall this show. My kids weren't fans, but it needs to be stated that back in the day, especially when I was a kids in the 60s, it was not unusual for some adults to act like this toward kids. I'm NOT condoning any of it, but it really was generally accepted and seen as harmless. If we acted like we didn't like it, we were ridiculed and if we complained, we were scolded for being disrespectful to grownups and "causing a scene". To back that up, the kids and adults knew exactly what they were getting into because they'd seen the show beforehand and still tried to get on it. However, although this type of behaviour was common in real life, it was FAR less common on television. We are much more aware now, thank God ~

That's why you don't see very much touching portrayed in a positive light in Japanese animation or anime.
Touch-friendly Latin America would have no place in that touch-phobic Asia for this very no-touching-another-person-allowed reason, and may soon also have no place in USA either for this reason, especially once the Hispanics and Latinx who crossed the US-Mexican border from various Latin American nations realize this, then they'd wished they stayed within Latin America where touching in general isn't villainized nor criminalized nor outlawed iirc, and they'd wish they hadn't become illegal immigrants to the bad old USA due to this "NO TOUCHING" culture that the bad old USA is becoming!

This is disturbing. I can’t imagine being kissed for the first time by a grown stranger on national television.

Yeah and? That is never a defendable point when stuff like this happens, time doesn’t make anything less wrong

Steve Harvey is one of the best game show hosts ever. I love him on Family Feud. He is fun and no one seems uncomfortable around him. He touches people but in a normal, friendly way.

Yes I know that back in the 70’s when I was a child, the kids programs I used to watch some of the hosts were peodophiles who had been doing inappropriate to underage girls and they had been getting away with it because it was different back then. Some of the girls which were adults when they decided to expose these men who had experienced their inappropriate behaviour , I remember hearing about them on the news channel about 10 years ago and feeling shocked because these men had been well liked and some were still on t.v shows at the time they were arrested. Some are now in their 80’s who are still in jail today after getting found guilty for their vulgar crimes 👏

Patrick, this show was buried in my Canadian childhood memories. Watching it again in 2024 is truly shocking.
